Does anyone have the High School Musical game for the DS? I'm just wondering if it's any good. My daughter will turn 7 next month and she loves HSM.

Missed one. I do not have the game or know anyone who does. As far as I know its a very simple game where you push buttons to the beat of the songs. I doubt it has too much lasting appeal, but I'm sure there's someone who bought it that might help!

You cannot buy the game without the Wii mote and I personally think it's a waste of money if its more than $5 for just the game.

Thanks for the advise. I almost bought one for $15.00 plus 7.00 shipping. The seller said he was selling the game as new because he bought it only for the remote.

How much should the DDR pad cost?

DDR comes with one pad. I'm pretty sure you don't need two unless the kids are going head to head. Then, I think an extra dance pad will run around $50. Extra guitars for GH are even worse.

I can't find info about extra pads anywhere. Tell us what you discover!

LOL Actually I'm a big Bengals fan...unless they are playing the Browns. All these years of rooting for them to beat Baltimore and Pittsburg have turned into me just plain cheering for them. Especially since they were so bad for so long. I love an underdog. And I love Carson and Chad. They are my 3rd favorite team.

That's totally true! there is nothing like Pokemon. The only Dragon Quest game that has the pokemon element is Joker, so don't bother with the others (they are Role Playing Games...well actually Pokemon is an RPG too, but DQ is very different from Poke). I think Joker is a great idea for slightly older kids (8-12) looking for something when they are done with D/P.

I stopped playing Pokemon about 2 games ago, but DH is still obsessed. He's trying to complete his Pokedex.

Metroid Prime 3 is rated T and my son who will be 10 soon wants this game. He's familiar with Samus from the Smash Bros games and says that was also a T game and we let him play that. What are the opinions of this game for a 10 yr old?

We saw a preview of Metroid at Toys R Us (had to and get the Pokemon download on Saturday) and DS thinks the game looks AWESOME. He is 12 and we don't do T games here either (with few exceptions like Smash Brothers) so he knows he can't get it.

For us, Smash Bros is okay because the T is for the mild violence (it is a fighting/battle game). Killing isn't okay so Metroid won't work because it has a T for animated blood/violence. I like using this site... http://www.esrb.org/index-js.jsp to see why a game got a certain rating, since I think the issue becomes more 'grey' as the kids get older.

Just a FYI to add to that conversation...the blood is alien blood. no human blood. out of all the FPS (first person shooters) out there Metroid is the most kid/teen friendly. Much better to have them blowing up fake aliens then real people in games like HAlo, or Call of Duty(WWII game).

It was because of the Pirates. Since they added a POTC level and that stupid,"Why is the rum always gone?" thing was in the game. Actually, I think the creepy, dark nature of the bad guys in the game is much worse than the Pirates and their Rum. I think the only reason it didn't get a T was there was no blood.

Was having a discussion with a parent about the appropriateness of the Halo game for teens in general (neither of us has a child that wants it, just talking in general) and we realized that we didn't really know what it was all about. I went to IGN to read the review but it was pages long and I'm just looking for a summary.

Can anybody give me a 5 sentence summary on Halo 3? I get that it's a first person shooter, who are you shooting? How much blood and guts is there? Are you a good guy or a bad guy? That kind of stuff would be helpful. Thanks!

Halo is about an alien race taking over the world and the battle that commences to save it. It's bloody and violent. I think in this part you only are killing aliens, but I could be wrong.

Most players couldn't care less about that part of the game. Most Halo players play in a on-line battle mode where they stalk their friends(other humans) around a field and see how many times they can kill them. It's really violent.

Maybe I don't understand or we are talking about a different version but Target says the release date for HMS is not until November 7th.

I think the HSM for the Nintendo Dual Screen handheld is already out. The one you're referring to is the version for the Wii game system.

I was confused about it at first too, but then I did a little searching and found out the dual screen one was out.

Me too! I live in the Ross Township Area and work in Kenwood.

I am trying to find out everything I can about the Wii as we are purchasing one for the children this Christmas.

I have learned what games will have longer appeal and which will not. I have bid on some things on ebay and lost but that was because of the things I have learned about here on this thread. Love this thread.

We are north of cincy outside of 275.

We haven't had rain all summer--only 2 days since July!

My husband always tells me to pick games that don't have a "finish" like a story line, so to speak--he likes things like Mario Kart, and that's why I think HSM Sing It will be good.
