Official Tinker Bell Half Marathon Check-In ** May 5-8, 2016 ** 5th Anniversary

I get in around 9:30 Wed night. There's a flight after work at 6:30 and I could just go straight from work, but I figured the parks would close at 8 like last year, so I wouldn't get any park time either way and this way I can eat a good dinner and not feel rushed Wed morning before I go to work.

Sounds like a good plan. When do you think you'll head over on Thurs??

Probably really early. I know I will be fine, but I forgot to order the pins, and it's the 5th so if there's something I see, I'd really like the chance to get it. Plus, I'm excited to see if we get a legacy something and what it'll be.

Hi Everyone! I haven't been on the DIS boards since we went on our Disney Cruise several years ago! It was nice to find this thread. I'll be doing the Tinkerbell 10K for the second time. Three years ago, my BFF and I ran the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. We had fun, but we didn't like the course too much outside of the parks, so we decided to do the 10K from then on. We have more time to relax, drink mimosas, eat and shop after the race before heading home. It's our annual road trip celebrating our friendship and motherhood!

At the 5th anniversary for the Princess Half, they gave us a tiara, sash and every year we get a different lanyard ribbon (we have to pick it up after getting our medal) and on our bib it says perfect princess. So perhaps they will do something.
This will be my first Tink Half

just booked a cabana for half day on saturday afternoon to rest up for the half!

Where is everyone carbo loading on Friday night? We're staying at the Disneyland Hotel. Last time we waited too long to make reservations. I think we ended up waiting two hours for a seat at the bar of Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria. They had a Tink dinner special, so that was cool. I'm thinking of making reservations there this time!

I am signed up for the Half - it's my first half marathon and I'm excited. My mom is coming with me. Not sure if we are going to do a ChEAR package for her or not.

Yes I have gotten the medal with the regular lanyard and then have to stop at a booth further along the exit shoot and pick up a special lanyard.

Did I completely miss the bus on merch already? I know the expo sells out of stuff quickly *understatement!* but have there already been presales and things for this race? I have only done one rD race before, and definitely didn't know anything heading in, but I felt a little more "in the know" this time around--until now. ?

The presales opened when the registration opened and now is all sold out. I know it stinks I kept saying I don't want to part with my money just yet and totally missed out! But they haven't done the Dooneys yet so you could still preorder those.

I'm doing Naples w/ some friends, but I've done Wine Country in DCA a few times as well.

I just don't know where I should have looked for the presale stuff! Only thing that I'd want is maybe a pin since our kiddos love trading those at WDW and I'm probably going to bring some tradeable ones to DLR to hopefully snag some cooler ones Thank you!

For some reason on this race, I'm drawing a blank. Maybe the Green Army men, but that may be the other DL races. I don't recall any backdrops w/ characters like WDW, but I usually finish and head out so they may have some.

Along the course, it's characters inside the parks and backstage, the Red Hat ladies are at the end of DTD when we turn into the parking lot to the part of the run outside the parks, nothing in the 1st part of the residential area (before we cross over the 5 freeway into downtown Anaheim) but there are shh, quiet people sleeping signs or something to that effect which have become fun pic stops themselves, right before the 5 crossover are high school bands and cheerleaders/dancers. After that there are some more cheerleaders and bands around the mile 8 (?) and we seem them after a loop. I know there has to be another spot w/ bands & cheerleaders along the course but can't remember where.

Thanks for asking...crowds weren't that bad. (Maybe I'm just used to it) The Mouseketeer LOVED the ART bus. Although, we did have a couple of "interesting" drivers. But overall taking the bus was not too bad.

We are getting close...hard to believe it. I hope you are right about the program coming out soon.
