I'm one of those waiting somewhat impatiently. We chose a 10c gty because it was cheapest room we could get and still have a bigger room with the split bath. I know there is a slight chance of an upgrade. Even if we don't get that, I know some have steamer trunks of various sizes and some don't. No matter what I will be happy but some of these perks are like icing on the cake. It's just another thing to be excited about.

I have a question. I booked an 11C on the wonder for next year through the travel agency. I picked a room number. Last time we travelled many years ago, we booked a 12 and got a 9. What are the odds I will get upgraded if I picked my room number? Should I call travel agent and just change to GTY and pick no number? I'm confused. Help!

You can only book gty if that category has gone gty. They have to be nearly sold out of that category for that to be an option. If there are room numbers left, you have to pick one or they will for you. That is not gty.

I have been following this thread and hoping to see my sailing date and GTY rooms being assigned. We are 26 days away and my GTY is still not assigned. Is that normal? I see those in April with assignments. We are a travel with and our other room was able to pick a room number but we were not. We are booked in the same CAT.

Also does DCL send docs out without a stateroom number assigned? Our other cabin docs came but this one has not.

Well, it is not abnormal. Sometimes they are not assigned until closer to cruise date. For example, I booked a 7A GTY back in mid January and was just assigned my cabin today for a March 7th cruise.

You are sure you didn't book a IGT, OGT or VGT rate, right? Because those are always assigned about 10-12 days before sail date. And yes, they can send out docs without cabin numbers assigned. You would just write your cabin number in on the luggage tags when it is assigned.

Thank you! No we booked gty 9D. We almost booked OGT but in the end it worked out better not to bc of FLR. I will keep waiting... just not very patiently lol!

I'm a bit bummed, because when we booked they had the split beds, but now they've switched that and we don't have a pull-down bunk. Sharing beds won't work well for us! However, our room is aft, which is my favorite place to be. Just a couple of flights of stairs down for dining and a couple up to be able to quickly grab drinks and snacks! And convenient for the kids clubs.

We booked a last minute trip on the March 21st Fantasy. We have two rooms. One is a 5E and the room was selected at booking. The other is an inside stateroom GTY. We are 15 days out and I'm so curious to see if we keep the current category or get upgraded. I expect to be given an inside stateroom but would love to have some great luck! We are just happy to be going. My husband and son have the assigned room and my girls and I have the unassigned. My kids are 8, 14, and 16 and will be in the clubs a lot so my husband I plan to still get a lot of time alone. Very excited! I keep checking the reservation but still no assignment.

I would do cartwheels if my 9c GTY for Norway/Iceland came back as 2504 Ssh don't tell too many others it's an awesome cabin or area!
