Official Survivor China Thread~~~ **Spoilers Inside**

I think they didn't want to revisit the miscarriage thing. I think it was true, but the sister in question was a teen--I'm assuming unwed. I got the impression that the pregnancy was unplanned and probably not initially considered a happy event (although Todd's family may have adjusted and been trying to make the best of it). So, if you look at it from the perspective of his knocked-up unwed teen sister miscarried and wants to move on, I can see where the family would rather let her move on, the less said, the better.

DARN, darn darn darn! I didn't watch this last night and it's not on my On Demand. They have the reunion show, so I do see who won, but I wasn't able to watch the final episodes. :sad2:

I hope it does show up. I want to at least see the questioning during tribal council.

These are the rumored 10 to be on Survivior 16. I put them in white incase you want to be suprised , sorry I could not get it to so here is one link I found. A few sites had them listed. http://survivorwiki.cbs.com/page/Survivor+16:+Micronesia?t=anon

Thanks for that link. There are some names there I didn't recognize + at least a couple that I will be very happy to see return. Sounds like an interesting mix.

As for last night's finale...

I was pulling for Denise, but she finished where I figured she would. She was up against three sharks.

I wouldn't know Courtney if she walked thru my door right now. Wow! How different she looks now that she's back home!

Ultimately I guess Todd "deserved" to win. From a gaming point of view he played better than the other two. The thing I like about Survivor is that sometimes the nice guy/girl DOES win... just not this time.

I thought the ending (and most of this season) was pretty predictable. It reminded me of Thailand, where Brian pretty much orchestrated the final 4...and they went along with it!! :confused3 "So, how's 4th place sound? And you'll get third, and you'll be getting second, that's still a lot of $$..." They were such idiots!

As far as Denise goes, I think her plea was too little too late. The whole time she was complaining about her $7/hour job, I'm thinking: you mean the one you chose? :confused3

how did you like the question Jeff asked Erik after Jaime said they were dating?!?!? Why would you ask something like that?

ITA. Way too much information. I don't understand why it even came up on the show to begin with. Do we need to know that?

That was so rude! Though it makes me sick to see a seemingly nice guy like Erik with Jaime. I hated her ever since she was so giddy throwing that challenge.

I wanted Amanda to win, but out of those 3, Todd deserved it. He was the one who outwitted everyone all the way to the end. The way he played JR was classic. DH and I said we will not watch the new one if the "favorite" from this season is Courtney. I just wanted to repeatedly slap her. Did you see her get caught flicking off the camera last night when they were talking to Denise about their fight?

Agreed about Jaime. She seems like a bimbo to me. He could do so much better. And as for Courtney, I didn't notice that, but I'm not surprised. That girl needs an attitude adjustment.

Did Amanda have a hole in the back of her pants or was she wearing a thong? She was blurred out from that angle all the time?

No, just too much butt cheek. I'm grateful for the blur. ;)

Thanks!!!! I can't believe I've stayed up this late trying to find this out... Pathetic....

Ooof, I've been there. Now for every reality show we watch, when you record the entire season on DVR, make sure you record it for at least an hour after it goes off - with football delays and such, the show often gets cut off. If it's recorded an hour later, this isn't a dilemma anymore. :thumbsup2

If that really is the truth then I'm really excited . . . it's going to be one interesting season, that's for sure. ;)

I like that Denise got some $$ at the end. I can't believe that the school called her a distraction! Wow...give the lady a break! She was a good role model and kids would stop asking after a while and things would get back to normal. Awful! Maybe now she can take time to get a new job.

It appears that Denise may have been a little dishonest.

"Press Release: Mrs. Denise Martin
December 17, 2007
Douglas Public Schools

On the "Survivor China" television program that aired on December 16, 2007, Mrs. Denise Martin, an employee of the Douglas Public Schools, stated that she was demoted from her position as a cafeteria worker upon her return from taping the show. This statement is false. In fact, Mrs. Martin held a full-time position as a custodian prior to her participation in the series, and she returned to this same position upon her return from China. Mrs. Martin was granted - at her request - an unpaid leave of absence so that she could participate in the "Survivor" program. We were pleased and excited to support Denise, and have enthusiastically cheered her on throughout the duration of the show.

Although Mrs. Martin was a cafeteria employee prior to her selection as a contestant, she asked to be considered for a promotion to full-time custodian, and was promoted to this position on March 30, 2007. This promotion came with additional benefits and a higher salary. Following her leave, she then returned to this same position.

Regretfully, the Douglas Public School District was inaccurately portrayed as failing to be accommodating to an employee during what the District viewed as a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity. This is far from the case. On the contrary, we granted all requests made by Mrs. Martin so that she could participate in the "Survivor" series. Since Mrs. Martin was on an approved leave, her position was held open for her, and she returned to this same position upon her return from China. As a District, we make every effort to support our employees, and will continue to do so.

I read about Denise earlier today on another thread, I felt really bad for her before but not so much now:sad2:

Ha, Ha...I see Johnny Fairplay is listed as on the "All Stars". I certainly hope he has had all of his teeth all replaced after being bounced on his face by Bonaduce :lmao:
I'd find it very hard to believe him when he tells us his Grandma died if he has no teeth;)

The one I can't stand is Parvati. I'd pay to not ever have to see her again. But since there are really no "hot" guys (unless they load up on them from among the new people), she will need to come up with a new strategy besides just acting like a hooch.

Slimy as he is, I can deal with Johnny Fairplay. He's entertaining. I can't wait to see how all these people interact with each other, especially considering they've all played before.

Didn't I see James on that list?:cloud9: :cloud9:

Yeah I guess James is hot, but I didn't really think about him because he doesn't seem to be too concerned with the girls and their little booty shorts and that stuff. Remember Parvati was the one that went back and forth between Nate and Adam

That's the one I refuse to watch any more. He is just a total train wreck and is not there to play Survivor. He's only there to extend his "semi-fame for free booze" trip. I just am so tired of these "reality" shows casting caricatures of people, rather than real people.

It's like the casting directors say Ok, we need sneaky, but up-front about it gay guy (Richard & Todd) - check, we need hot girl in too small clothes (any show) - check, we need a lazy looking minority - (Sheria and others I can't remember) - check, we need some country bumpkin (Chicken, Tom) - check. I guess real people just aren't interesting enough to watch. :confused3

Thanks for posting that..you beat me to it. I was hoping Denise would do better until she came out with her 'woe is me' speech. She really did give her town a big ole slap that was not true. Sure did leave a bad taste in my mouth.

No hot guys? I think Ozzy cleaned up really nicely and James wasnt to hard on the eyes either.

I really excited to see Ozzy back. I also liked Jonathan when he was on and Im glad to see him back and Amanda too.

I never cared for Eliza or Parvati. I didnt watch the season with Johnny Fairplay but if course I have heard all the stories.

NEW YORK (AP) - Denise Martin, who gained fame as the lunch lady on CBS' reality show "Survivor: China," is donating the $50,000 she received from producer Mark Burnett to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDs Foundation.
Martin told viewers on Sunday night's live finale that she'd been demoted to janitor at a school in Douglas, Mass., after finishing fourth on the show. After hearing her story, Burnett surprised Martin with the money to help get her life back.
On Tuesday, Martin acknowledged on CBS'"The Early Show" that she'd been promoted to custodian, at her own request, before the competition began.
"It was not my intention to be misleading," Martin, 40, said on the broadcast. "I'm sorry, and I apologize to everybody."
In a statement issued Tuesday by the network, Martin said she took "full responsibility" for her actions. "I do not feel comfortable about accepting the $50,000. I would instead ask that it be donated to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation," the statement said. "Please accept my apology. I would also like to thank all the people who have supported me through this experience."

Good for her. I didn't think she was a bad egg.

Good for Denise.

Some people had asked if Todd's sister really did have a miscarriage. This was true. Todd's mom posts on another board and confirmed that it was a fact and not just made up like Johnny Fairplay's dead grandmother story.

I liked Eliza! Can't stand Parvati though. Johnny Fairplay will add some spice to the mix for sure.

It'll be interesting to see his approach to the game this time. Everyone knows his gameplay now.

I'm going to look the others up, I can't remember some of them.
