Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

FYI Disney is expecting HUGE amounts of people for the weekend of May 23 to 25...they just completely blocked all Main Entrance Passes to CM. This means CM cannot pass people and they cannot go themselves during these days

Ugh. Is that because it's Memorial Day weekend? I may need to rethink our plans, we had planned to so May 17 and May 23, with our breakfast and FtF booked for the 23. I guess if we just plan on doing the stuff we have booked plus FP rides and maybe the roaming characters it should be ok...

Bummer (for me). Does this apply just to DHS or to all the parks? My plan for that weekend was Friday at DHS, Sat at Epcot & Sun at AK. We depart early Monday morning (Memorial Day).

Where do you see this? It isn't listed on the block out days portion? The only park that is blocked to cast is MK, at least that's what is listed.

I believe all the shows are still available. If you already have something booked in Tier 1 you need to start over by pressing "select or replace" rather than "change experience"

No word, still unsure if he'll do a completely separate show or if he will be in Stars of the Saga

any word on Mark Hamill show yet? FP?princess:
:confused3a friend mentioned he might have his own show. Odd, don't recall them doing this sort of thing before, has been reported on most fan sites he'd be in Stars of the Saga for over a month now. There will be some mighty unhappy campers me thinks if he's not @ the standard show. I'm still happy to have given up TSM today for that FP+ on 6/7 ...

it's billy dee I wanna see:goodvibes

it was posted this morning on the HUB. It's on the WDW headline on the first page as you open the HUB

This would help me immensely if we knew the answer to this. On one hand, I already have my FP+ secured if he does Stars of the Saga, but a separate/earlier show would help my schedule out more. I just wish we knew either way so I could plan for it.

I couldn't get a Sci-Fi breakfast for the weekend we'll be there, so I'm going to do it during the week. We weren't originally planning on doing it but KtP's review made me go ahead and reserve it. For those of you going soon, please report back with your reviews!

Thanks, found it. I guess DH will have to use one of our comp tickets. We have some old 1 day hoppers back from when they did the last major computer upgrade that screwed up our entire stay. Might as well use one of those before they expire.

Question regarding getting Chewbacca's autograph: We will be there Weekends 4 and 5, so unfortunately will not have the opportunity to meet Peter Mayhew himself, but is it possible to get Chewbacca's autograph and a picture with him as well during weekends 4 and 5? Where does he typically meet? Is this a rope drop kindof thing? We do have an 8:20am Sci Fi breakfast planned on Friday June 13th. Would it be possible to get his autograph/picture and then get to our breakfast that day?

We have FTF,H&V dinner and Stars of the Saga scheduled for June 8th, and our schedule is getting a little packed that day. Especially if we have to squeeze in Mark Hamill's potential show. So if we could do Chewie on the 13th, I think that might work!

Thank you so much for your help! This thread is invaluable in helping us 1st timers to SWW plan a spectacular trip!

um, i think I found 'the hub' not sure lol

is this what got people speculating there would be a separate Mark Hammil show?

Mark Hamill, the actor who played Luke Skywalker, will be making his first appearance at Star Wars Weekends! Hamill will be attending Weekend IV (June 6-8) and will participate in the daily "Legends of the Force" motorcade and a featured talk show. He will not be signing autographs
Fan boys will absolutely nuts if they booked a FP+ for the standard celeb show then show up and find out he's not attending...security;)

Chewie is there all through SWW. Last year he met by the speeder bike outside Tatooine Traders. The characters usually don't come out until around 9. We were able to get a fairly short line for Chewie about 9:30 (we were about 8 people back). Since Chewie is a Wookie, and Wookies do not like Florida in May, he did take frequent breaks. So, if I were you, I'd have breakfast and head right over to Chewie if you want to be sure to get a picture with him.

Have a great time!!! I'm extremely jealous of all of you going to this year's events! We won't be back to SWW until 2016 :sad1:

Chewbacca meets by the speeder next to Star Tours, his first set last year started at 8:30am but he would usually come out around 8:15am, I don't think you'll have time to meet him before your breakfast. His line gest long and stays consistent at about 1+ hour thru out the day

haha thanks

idk wishful thinking on my part but it just seems as though the term 'featured show' is phrase used by the writer because he couldn't remember the name of the standard show "Stars of the Saga";)

Thanks! I changed our fastpasses for both our days - I just had to do it from the computer rather than my phone. My son was actually fine giving up Rock N' Roller coaster for the shows. I figured he wouldn't mind giving up toy story but RNR surprised me. :)

My original plan was to RD Chewie but then when I was looking at KtP, it shows that the Ewoks don't come out until later and my kids really want to meet one. Was this normally the case last year? If so, what kind of wait would I be looking at to meet them both?
