Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

I've been reading along and I've seen a passing mention, but since stars of the saga is supposed to be for the movie actors, do we have any idea what's going to happen weekend 5? That's when we're going. Since it's all voice actors, it doesn't seem to fit.

And it seems weird that the clone wars folks would do the preview show for rebels. I saw on the fast pass that Ashley Eckstien was hosting the rebels show. Maybe there will be a big nostalgia clone wars show? I am surprised that Dave Filoni isn't coming some time to promote rebels. I don't know but I wan to be sure to take my kids that weekend. Throw in JAT and it may be the last time that many clone wars folks are at the same sww.

Is it necessary to fast pass the shows? Are all of them only once per day? We are going 2 days so I assume we can see them all over 2 days or will it be so crowded that we only see the ones I fast pass?

They've never had fast passes for them before so, no, you don't have to have a fast pass. I was just looking forward to not waiting in line in the sun.

On the Restaurant Board, someone just canceled H&V Star Wars dinner for 7 on June 15th at 8:15 pm if anyone is interested.

This is the answer I gave to the same question a few pages back

That's the question...since it being first year they offer it.
In the past you would line up at least an hour before for the following shows: Stars of the Saga, Visit to the Maul and An Ewok's Tale...these shows would fill up completely so I know some people were left out
For Behind the Force you could basically walk in about 15 min. before no problem, the difference being that they had 2 showings of it. This year it's only one
Obi Wan and Beyond was a show you could line 30 min. before and get in, the difference being that there was Hyperspace Hoopla and most people would be waiting for that so this show was easier to get in. This year there's no Hoopla and the fireworks are at 9:45pm

So could you get in the shows without fp+...probably...but you would have to wait at least an hour in a line that's outside (under roof) with a whole bunch of people in a very small space
See the schedule of all the shows on the first post of this thread

Thanks! I remember when we went two years ago that line was miserable being in the sun & near a smoking area. My DS tells me we met Chewie one day & then him and the Ewoks the next- too bad I've already forgotten how. ; ) Any estimate of when to try to get in line to try your suggestion?
Actually last year they moved ths smoking area because that's the same location where Chip and Dale as Ewoks meet...so you have Chewbacca by the speeder bike and Chip and Dale right in front of him close to the Sci Fi...
Last year not even Kenny the Pirate could pinpoint a set for the Ewoks, they meet after 12 until about 6pm.

I was wondering about that as well and the only Rebels actor is Steve Blum, it'll be an interesting show. I just love all of the Clone Wars actors, they are awesome. Since their series got cancelled I hope they do a special, farewell show

Just went to book fp for Stars of the Saga for June 7 (since I'm an AP I can only do it 30 days in advance)_ and SotS shows as standby only...I was able to get one for June 6th, I hope I'm able to go on Friday.

I'm posting a daily reminder from now until this thread is closed

The Dis closes it's thread when they reach 250 pages, we are as of today, at this moment at 238.
As soon as we hit 250 I'm opening another thread
Official Star Wars Weekends Tips and Trick 2014 Part II
so if you come into this one and can't post anything it's because it was closed

Well, I got some fast passes.
It was kind of a hard mess because we are staying at our dvc, but we have annual passes and the annual passes limit us to seven days of fast passes even though we are in a resort. It has been catching us in a glitch for other days, so I had to really juggle things around.

Anybody want to critique it and give me feedback on what I messed up on? It got a little confusing and I would love a reality checker.

Fri 5/23 Warwick Davis show 5:00
Sat 5/24 scifi breakfast, 1:30 behind the force: rebels show
Sun 5/25 h and v dinner. I couldn't get the Warwick Davis show this night because of the dinner reservation so I let this be a fast pass skip it day.

Fri 5/30: JAT Obi Wan and beyond 7:30
Sat 5/31 Ray Park's visit to the Mall 5:00
Sund 6/1 I ended up with another behind the force: rebels this day. The only thing I saw offered was it or JAT

Fri 6/6 another trip to the mall at 6:00 (kind of freaky now that I typed it)
Sat 6/7 stars of the saga 4:30. Is this Mark Hamill? Billy Dee is there that weekend also.

I want to take the kids at least one day the next weekend to see the clone wars folks but I'm fast passed out. DId I miss anything?

The weekend of 6/6-6/8 is the mark hamill show I would scoop up those fast passes for that show for sure! I think your weekend 3 plans are pretty good Obi Wan and Beyond and the Ray park show typically do not fill up but if they are your priority then well done. The stars of the saga show is the show that fills up the most. Then Warwick Davis' and then Ray Park. I think you did a good job making sure you are going to see each show one time. The thing for me is that the shows change depending on the guests because its all improv except for Ray and Warwick so I love seeing them multiple times.

Here are a few things I had not considered until this morning as a Star Wars Weekends veteran.

1. Due to only one showing of Behind the Force: Rebels it may fill up this year

2. Due to no hoopla the obi wan and beyond may fill up as well

3. During weekend 5 I think all the clone wars actors will be doing both shows it just makes sense as this is their last hurrah

Now here are a couple of thoughts:

1. Mark Hamill is not getting his own show he will be doing the Stars of the Saga show

2. we will still be waiting in an hour long line for some shows despite fastpass+ due to the shows filling up

3. I may change my fastpasses+ to get into each show once per weekend so I can see them all each weekend.

4. Each rebels show will be different since each one will only have one actor from rebels

5. I love that Ashley Eckstein is hosting the Padawn Mind Challenge.

I have to agree with you on everything but Mark Hamill....If you look at the schedule for Behind the Force and Stars of the Saga there's a huge gap in between that only happens that weekend, I think Mark Hamill will have his own show...
to your point about Star Wars Rebels show, in the past it's always been one visiting Clone Wars actor, Ashley and James Arnold Taylor. So it looks like it will be the same, 1 Rebels actor, Ashley and James

On Kenny's site I have Chip/ Dale as Ewoks from 8:30 - 1:50 as their first set - is that not accurate? We were sort of planning on the first Friday to do Chewie then Chip/ Dale ...... and then others in that general area (basically avoiding the Darth's Mall area until Saturday / Sunday mornings).

No, I'm talking about Wicket and Logray the Ewoks that appear with Chewbacca
The times from Chip and Dale as Ewoks are right

it's less than a month out to that big weekend. imo it's not Disney's usual modus operandi to spring something 'big' last minute when they could advertise it to increase 'the gate', but they do like to keep us on our toes.

JIK any WDW 'beards' are listening;)...

IMO it would be very poor form to offer FP+ for the 'star' show that day, (resulting in many guests dumping their TSM FP+), then throw in yet another show last minute with the headliner of the weekend, Veering close to what I'd term a bait & switch.:bitelip: I understand WDW reserves the right to change characters and make modifications but that is usually of a last minute situation not a deliberate 'surprise'.

Struck me last night that since we won't arrive until 10 am-ish (relatively late to the park after disembarking from a cruise that day) there's a remote chance Park could be @ capacity. I know MK has had a few holidays where that has happened but don't recall ever reading anything as to SWW.

Do we have an officialish schedule?

Do we have an officialish schedule?

Yes, yulilin posted it in the OP of the thread.

Is it possible they may have had a slot for Mark and then he backed out of his own, separate show right before the Events were uploaded to the schedule? It just seems late to add him especially when Fp+ opened up at the beginning of the week.

starting to wonder if MH is a bit diva-ish, considering he's not signing autographs.;)

possibility they wouldn't offer FP+ to the show if it's offered...can you imagine that line? :faint:
