Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

omg, I take a DIS hiatus for a month after a trip and this thread is up to 134 pages!!! I think we know how I'll be spending my conference calls and lunch breaks the next few days. DH and I are going for our first WDW trip without our toddler twins over Memorial Day weekend and he is a huge SW fan--but our mobility will be somewhat limited because I will be 31 weeks pregnant w/our son! Before I start asking variations of my underlying question: how can we best enjoy the weekend if strenuous touring isn't an option (I am already getting whiny at 26 weeks) I promise to do my homework. I thought the VIP thing might be worth it but it doesn't look like there are any character greets. Anyway, first I will research/catch up and then pick your brains. Also DH is a closet nerd so he likes to pretend he is too cool for really reveling in geekery. However--I am not too cool (or rather I am SO cool) so I will be his excuse

Congrats on the baby, take hydration very, very seriously. The heat and humidity is no joke, especially when pregnant.

A rumor going around is stating that Stitch may be the next character to begin offering character meet and greets at Star Wars Weekends as an official character. Rumor has it that he’ll be presented as Emperor Palpatine Stitch. He can already be found in figure form and pin form in this costume, so it will be fun to actually have a meet and greet with him as well

I registered for the Rebel Rendezvous when it was first announced. I'm guessing they didn't get the turnout they expected because I got all six of the preorder requests I entered. I got my confirmation email this afternoon. Good luck to everyone waiting for their RSP results!

Thanks for reporting back. I think their main goal was to alleviate the line for merchandise on Friday and have an idea of how much merchandise they need (although if it's LE # they're already limitng themselves)
Many Ebayers are advertising that they are going to this event so I hope Disney's plan works

I'm still not clear on if other items will be available also or just the RSP catalogue merch. Like can I buy the medium statues or clothing at the rendezvous? They weren't part of the RSP. I really don't want to waste my only SWW day in line at the mall on the 1st Friday.

Luke and friends were in Darth's Mall last year. But that spot is being taken over by the Mickey gang this year. Besides that I don't think any character locations have been announced.

Just booked the VIP package for Friday, June 6th! This will be my first SWW and my first solo trip to WDW. So excited!!

For anyone else doing the VIP package, they said to book your FP+ attractions between 4:30 and 8:30 because that would be your only "free" time during the day. The rest of the time they will be escorting you around from activity to activity.

I don't know. For $500 per person I'm thinking reserved time at jta for all kids and a fast pass for all celebrities. And kids in the parade. That's two grand for a family of four for one day.

Sounds like a good FP+ for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I think I've taken a nap the last 2 times I've seen that show.

It's my understanding that the tent's regular SWW merchandise that wasn't in the catalog will be sold that day as well.
