Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

People have reported that after using all of their selections the have been able to get more fp+ but I have never done this. I don't think you can get any in another park. Maybe the fp+ thread started by Mesaboy can help.

What we've been doing is scheduling our fp+ for the afternoon hours and getting to the parks early and riding at rope drop with minimal wait times.

I've never been able to get more FP+ after the initial 3 in all the visits we've done since getting MBs and you can't schedule in another park after using 1 FP in your first choice park. It kinda makes hopping parks for rides useless.

Youre right yulilin3, that showing up at RD and using FP+ is best choice in using them for now.

Too bad you can't go the first Friday, it'd be cool to run into you! :thumbsup2

I broke down and booked the breakfast online, it sounded like too much fun to pass on.

:goodvibes

You are not the only one. I've been going to SWW for 10 years now and I get excited every time :bitelip::banana:

I hope it all works out for you for Friday!

I've been saying this is our 10th SWW, but actually this will be the 11th. We stumbled upon it in 2004. My youngest was weeks old. I have a picture of me holding him inside the Back Lot Restaurant. I had been waiting for dh and ds, who had been doing either JTA or PMC. I was able to catch glimpses of him on he stage.

Wow that's awesome!! And you are brave, maybe if they were my own kids I would take them, I took my 2 kids for the first time to a Disney park when they were 6 months old and now the are 13 and 17 so it's been a while since I''ve taken babies to WDW...

And with that strategy you could totally park hop, get the fp+ for the park you'll be in the afternoon and ride standby at the park you're doing rope drop....I'm still working on that first Friday, maybe I'll try some of my Jedi mind tricks

Thinking that we should probably take a cab to DHS on the first Saturday morning of SWW... we are staying at AKL and want to be at the gates by 7am. Think that it will possible to get a taxi that early? Any tips for it as we have always just relied on WDW transportation... but we are also the ones who always miss the bus by like 2 minutes...

Thanks!

The best thing to do is ask the Valets to summon a cab for you... it's the fastest way to get a cab at a resort. They usually wait offsite in close proximity to the resorts.

At that time of day, there won't be much traffic so you should be okay... the taxi will take you through the gates to the drop-off area.

ETA: I would ask the Valets the day before to estimate how long to get to DHS via taxi.

We're staying at Beach Club when we go for Star Wars weekend. What's the fastest way to get to DHS - would it be the boat? I know we could walk too, but we're definitely not going to do that. If we want to be there at 7:15am, what time should we leave Beach Club?

Just noticed what seems to be out of date info on the DW sWW page. It notes arriving early to secure fastpasses for autographs.

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/hollywood-studios/star-wars-weekend/

Is this still true? Or are they still doing FP tickets for autographs, and FP+ for rides?
THAt's the procedure to get fastpasses for autographs, fp+ is not linked to the fp for celebrities.

I would walk it. Not sure at what time the boats start during SWW. If they start early be on the boat, at the latest by 7am
I know there are some people on this thread that have stayed at the Epcot resorts and will be able to better answer your question

Great suggestion! Thanks! We will check the day before and aim to do that. Thanks!

Yes. The "fast passes" for autographs were never linked in to the fast pass system.

Interesting! So:
1. is there anything else besides autographs that is FP that is not linked to the FP+ system?
2. is this just SWW meet & greets? or all meet & greets throughout WDW?
3. does this mean if we already booked 3 FP+s that we are still eligible for these non-linked FPs?

Thanks!

Don't think anyone knows... There was no FP+ last year... So who knows what they do...

BTW, I had booked a RO at CSR and had been looking at getting tickets on and off for a while. I would have probably just added tickets when I got there. Eventually I decided to make my RO ressie a package adding tickets - For some reason it's a few dollars cheaper than getting tickets separately - no clue. Also, the fact that I could not do FP+ reservations unless I had tickets linked.

But, when I tried to the CM couldn't do it (I knew only GS could do that) and either she couldn't get a hold of someone or who knows. In the end, I booked a new package and then canceled the RO - good thing there was still availability!

Also, called last minute and was able to get a spot for the character's breakfast - not interested much in Mickey dressed up, but more with actual SW characters so this will be nice, specially Darth Vader!

This will be our second time. First time was in 2003 when my older son was just shy of 3 yrs old and we went to WDW before his 3rd birthday so we could avoid the extra ticket. No clue it was SWW when we went to MGM Studios (back then)!

BTW - this past Xmas (on Xmas day, during eve EMH), we rode ST about 3 times in a row and we hit the SAME EXACT SEQUENCE the first two times. The 3rd time, the first two scenes were the same and we thought it something was wrong with the system. What are the chances...

Very exited!

You will have to walk or take a cab. There is no bus from BC and the boat doesn't start until right before the published opening time (not any revised times) aka the boat is useless for SWW.

1.- only fast passes for celebrities
2.- just for sww celebrities autographs
3.- you can have your 3 fp+ and still get fast passes for celebrities
We still don't know if any of the shows will offer fp+
