Official Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend - The Dark Side 2017

Whew! That was stressful!

I registered my daughter for the 10k and then went to register myself for the challenge and the 10k was on hold. My friend registered herself, but then couldn't get her daughter in because it was on HOLD! Thank goodness it opened up again and we were able to register her because the girls would have been so upset.

I was able to get myself registered for the 10K, but when I tried to register my husband I keep getting kicked out. It's on hold, and I've been able to get to the second screen and put in the email address, but I can't get any further.

Looks like I've just registered for my first 10k and I'll be running alone if I can't get him in

I see that the starting area is the Floridian with the Finish Line at Epcot. The Finish line area makes perfect sense to me, what I'm trying to wrap my head around is Logistics for the Starting Line at the Floridian. Where would they do all of that?? And has anyone seen a map of the courses yet? I tried to look at map from last years course (which I know will be different) but I can't even wrap my head around it.

I'm 95% sure it's going to be Ticket and Transportation. Floridian Rd runs right next to that giant parking lot.

Yes, Floridian Way runs along the west side of the TTC parking lot, so that is likely where everything will be setup.

got both meand my son in for the half, this will be our first half, and his first Disney race. My sister also got her spot. Now to keep doing this dreaded running thing so i can finish the race.

That certainly did not take long. I'm wondering how much the promise of a new route is playing into the registration fervor.
10k was on hold by the time I finished registering dh and I and went to register my son for the kid's race.

Anyone know the route. It looks different. It starts at Floridian Way and ends at Epcot. With it starting there, I doubt it will go through Animal Kingdom at all b/c it is like 5-6 miles just to get there and get out. My guess is that it will start at the transportation center and go around Bay Lake and through the Magic Kingdom and then down World Drive. With that at the crossing of World Drive and Epcot Center Drive it is about 6 miles. So, keep going down World Drive to Hollywood Studios and through the Epcot Resorts (Swan/Dolphin/Yacht/Beach) to Epcot. That is my guess and I hope that is true.

I think the strong speculation (and very educated guesses!) is kind of in line with what you're saying, but all that is a few pages back in this thread :) Helpful statement: I have absolutely no idea, personally.

This is my guess too. And after last year's debacle of a course I'm really excited to run a more open course!

I didn't run last year's. I did Star Wars - Light Side. I would think a WDW course would be more fun.

It wasn't last year (by a long shot). The course change should help, but there is just a tons more along the courses in Anaheim.

DW and I are still trying to decide if we want to become legacy runners for at least one of them...

Congrats to everyone for registering! For those who are apprehensive for their first race... Fret not! Train consistently, take it easy, and you will do great!
