Official Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend 2016 Thread (Jan. 14-17, 2016)

Thinking of doing the half next year!

Vancouver RnR? It was a really nice course. Very pretty in most parts.

And somehow, magically, for both events I did NOT have to use the "washroom" (as they call it in Canada) along the way. This is a first. I also managed to get by with only course water, and even course Gatorade. Though I did use two of my own shot bloks at one point during the Half. Canada is magical. :)

by the way, for those interested...http://www.runrocknroll.com/vancouver/news/2015/08/2016-presale/

yes :) I'm so glad to hear your positive review of it! I have a rundisney friend who lives near there. She ran both also and her pics sold me! I'm thinking of doing the 10k too now. How are the hills during the Half. I hear not as bad as San Francisco, but still hilly...

Agreed it was a great weekend and very well organised. Looking forward to next year :)

So - 8 miles didn't happen this morning just 3.22 - I apparently forgot my headphones back in Naples so the treadmill was out. I ran across the street from my hotel through Disney Springs and Saratoga Springs when my ankle started getting a little sore. As I also don't have my brace, I started to just walk back to the hotel instead. I'm sure I'll walk at least 5 miles or more around EPCOT today since I'm planning on being there from 9:30AM to 9PM.

I was super unprepared apparently.

I give you credit for trying! We're going to DL in a couple weeks and I'm not even attempting my long run.

I got out today and did a very solid 10 miles. Certainly feeling it now so staying in while the wife is trick or treating :)

yay for 10 miles!

My 8 miles went very well on Saturday. I was definitely done at 8 though. Don't think I had another in me.

Love the medals. I know my DS will truly love the X-wing design for the 10k medal.

W&D down, now on to the first half of my Kessel Run!

LOVE the medals! So glad DD is doing the kids race this year (her last year!) cause as usual the kids medal is awesome! Loving the 10k medal for sure! Kinda wish I was running the 5k now too lol.

I hope this doesn't sound too creepy ...i'm a female solo traveler and if anyone is willing to share a room, please PM me.

Got 7 miles done on a great Chicago morning - storm coming later, but it's just about perfect right now.

Thanks for posting about the medals, emzben25. The hubs was a bit worried when I started off by saying the 10K medal wasn't storm troopers - and then got a big grin on his face when he saw the x-wing.

Yeah happy to see the medals finally :)

Was a great morning to run here also in Vancouver as I hear we have the mother of all storms coming tomorrow. I clocked in another 18k run .

Ok for those of you who do high miles on the treadmill I need advice. I skipped last weekends 7 miles due to a head cold and the fact that it was raining outside. Well I'm over the cold but Sunday is showing a storm moving through once again and I can't run on Saturday. This leaves me no choice but to do the 7 miles on the treadmill. The longest I've run on it is 3. We are just not good friends. I will watch Netflix so that helps but I still struggle with it. Any advice on how to slog through the miles without dying of boredom?
