***Official September 2022 Thread***

I’ve never used Magic Bands before. If anything, I’d order the non+ bands for this trip. We’re staying at Dolphin, so wouldn’t be able to use them for our room keys or to charge to the room. So I’m guessing it’s basically to get into the parks and LLs?

I prefer to wear my Apple Watch to calculate my steps, etc. Does wearing a Magic Band make it so much easier that it’s worth buying? Will I be able to tap in with my watch or phone? Are these even wearable for 3/4 year olds?

Thanks for your insights!

My boys wore magic bands when they were 3/4. They thought they were so cool tapping in for the fast pass rides back then. Wearing the band was magical to them at that age. The only downside was I had to remind them to put it on before we left the hotel in the mornings.

Got some “Mickey mail” today, such a nice surprise!

We are 49 days out and the booklet shows our ADR date as last week so I feel like we should’ve gotten it sooner lol. There’s a cute promo card for guardians and a nice 50th anniversary sticker tho!
LOL I got one of those too! It was for my second reservation and was also a week after my ADR opening date. I was all "um, ok, thank you... but def too late for us Type A's!"

Thanks! I think they’d like the scanning in for rides part. Good to know they fit little ones.

We are going to Disney NEXT month!!! Can finally say that today.
OMG yes!!! Today was the first day of school for our DS 10 and 7, so before today I was trying not to wish the Summer away, but now summer is over for us, so let’s go September. See you during our first break from school.

Yes, next month is Disney and Universal!! I'm excited for all that is to come. I never came back and mentioned that we got most of the ADR's we were seeking out. The only hold outs were Yak and Yeti, but we have never done QS in Animal Kingdom and I'm excited to try new stuff!! We are almost here and I'm thrilled to be finally going away with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and NO KIDS!

Seems like I came here with a question, but then had to read a bunch to catch up because all of these updates are so exciting! Our family also has never had magic bands, so we ordered three of the new ones and one of the standard. It is really fun seeing everyone’s lists with their ADRs! Here’s what I’m thinking currently (I too will tweak up until the end, I’m sure!)…

9/18 Epcot Via Napoli lunch
9/19 Springs shopping after Chef Mickey’s brunch, pool time, movie under the stars if good weather
9/20 DAK grabbed Tusker brunch and Yak & Yeti early dinner - trying to decide if both or cancel one
9/21 MK Plaza lunch, Dessert party 🎉
9/22 Resort day / Springs for lunch at Homecomin, enjoy extended swim time
9/23 DHS I have a few reservations but might cancel…trying to decide on this one
9/24 Olivia’s brunch then head home

Is anyone else holding extra reservations and trying to decide? I have changed our park reservations three times in this planning process. 🥴 I guess I’m feeling indecisive since I’m used to shorter trips without so much flexibility! Good “problem“ to have. 😁

Of all the parks, the quick serves at AK are our favorites! Haven't had a bad one yet.

Booked Tiffany town car for airport to hotel tonight. Going to look at picking up groceries from Publix. We don’t have that store in the northeast so it will be new for us.
You can use instacart, which uses Publix, if you don't want to stop, or need more later on in your trip. I just looked at it and it seems pretty good.

I used Amazon Fresh in January and I've read a lot of people used garden grocer ( I think that's the name) instead of stopping.

I wish I would have had the foresight to hold options like that! I haven’t actually changed anything but I do keep thinking maybe we’ll cancel our LTT lunch and just do a late park start that day. I really want to figure out how to get a skyliner trip in so I also keep giving Sebastian’s a side eye.

I think we’re going to do this too. I’ve used instacart at home and had good experiences. I think it’s worth it to me to not add another stop to our arrival day.

I feel like this is a stupid question, but I have to ask. Has anyone booked a fireworks dessert party on a MNSSHP night? I didn't bother looking this morning since I figured the dessert party showing on the website were for Enchantment and not the Halloween show, but now I'm wondering if I should have checked. The FOMO is strong over here! :rotfl:
