***Official September 2020 Thread***

im thinking this past week or so has been unusually high? With the generous cancellation policy in place we may cancel if a few days before our trip if they show extreme high temps

I thought the cancellation policy had been changed to 7 days prior to your trip, however on my app it shows a month before. Is there a clarification?

We've got the same temps here in the Charleston, SC area, with even higher humidity, so I know what you mean! Lately at work going out to check the mail or when I have to work with delivery drivers for those few minutes I think "What am I getting myself into going to Disney?"
I haven't been to SFOT since I was a tween (cousins lived in Dallas), and during high school we lived in the Houston area so we had season passes to AstroWorld (RIP...)- a SF park- and went all the time (it helped that before we could drive we had a mom who was a teacher and would drive us and friends). Don't know if it's still like this, but the majority of their attractions require standing in line outside with little to no shade. I wonder if it will help that a lot of the waiting in line at WDW can be done inside with AC? Just a thought.

I have a season pass to SFoT. This is the second season I've had it. I won't have it a 3rd season. The only reason I even have it this year is because when I went to cancel after the first year they offered me such a stupid low price ($4.99/month) I thought what the heck, I'll give them another shot. We used to go to Six Flags Great America outside of Chicago every summer when we lived up there. SFoT reminds me why we stopped going there and started going to Cedar Point. Yes, most of the queue lines are in the sun until you get closer to the ride. 75% of the vendor booths (food, drinks, etc.) were closed. Several of the rides weren't functioning. Their one and only water ride is closed for the season. None of the misting machines were on (at least the fans were on). Just makes me appreciate Disney and Cedar Point even more.

We finally canceled Labor Day weekend. We were not comfortable flying yet. Pushed it to end of December

69 days to go. It will be OVER A YEAR since we have been if this trip happens.

We get to make dining reservations next week. I really hope that parkhopping is back by September. doubtful though. I really enjoy spending the evenings at EPCOT. We would usually go to AK at park opening and then go back to the resort for a drink and the head back out. There are even days when we visit three parks. I know one day, my daughter visited all four parks just to get pics with all the Disney Princesses. She wore heals ALL DAY for this. There is no way I could do that. But, she got some really cute photos.

We have APs and are staying at Copper Creek. Our party is now two of my adult daughters, my husband and I. I really hope we get one of the alternate studios at CC. That would make the sleeping arrangements a bit better. I could change us to a 1br but I really don't want to use that many points. Or, maybe change to the Poly for the extra bathroom areas. I will just keep my fingers crossed for the alternate studio layout since we have booked Deluxe studio and requested upper floor-i think we may have a decent shot at it.

Planning a Tusker House late breakfast so that we can try some of the lunch offerings also. We will also go to San Angel Inn, The Wave, Grand Floridian Cafe, Chef Art Smith brunch, Sanaa, Whispering Canyon, and Sci Fi. The rest of the meals will be QS. I have also started an Instacart order for quick breakfasts. and since we are not staying CL I ordered: coke zero, beer, fruit, hummus, smart water, tea, carrot chips, jimmy dean breakfast scrambles, apples trays with peanut butter etc. The only breakfasts/brunches we have planned are Homecoming, GFC, and Tusker. The other days will be breakfast in the room-we are early risers and eat around 6am usually. DH takes medicine and has to eat a little something before taking them. I hope our studio fridge will hold it all! :)

If the dining plans come back then I will scale down the grocery order to just water, beer, and tea. We will bring our own Keurig and pods.

what are everyone else's dining plans? Of course ours will probably change, but you gotta start somewhere.

we also are staying at CCV and have AP's making our loose ADR plan today

While I am prepared for anything - even looking forward to experiencing many of the changes - one thing I didn't anticipate and the only thing that is putting me off the trip is...

Flight changes.

I always leave LAX on a redeye so I get to MCO early in the morning giving me a full day in the park. And I take a later flight out (usually around 7:30pm) so I have a half day in the parks. My tradition is to visit all four on my last day. I can deal with no park hopping. I can deal with no luggage service. But both flights have been changed. Now I arrive at MCO at 6:30pm meaning no park day on arrival. And my flight home leaves at 9:30am. Not only do I have to get up damn early but I lose yet another day in the parks. On Tuedsay Sept 15 I will be home in California (11am local time) when I usually am arriving in Animal Kingdom on my first-of-four parks that day.

My 8 days in the parks are now 6 days in the parks. This will surely be an Unusual Adventure...

Maybe you can change flights before your trip. fingers crossed.

I check my flight at least every couple of days for changes. No changes yet though.

Thanks, Karen but the airline has canceled all redeye flights out of LAX and the latest flight from MCO leaves at 3pm with a 4 hour layover in ALT.

We officially had our resort changed from AKL Jambo house to the Poly.

They offered a studio villa at Boulder Ridge for price protection but we were not interested the Poly price upgrade was very minimal since we had a savannah view booked anyways.

Your dining plans sound great- some we've done before and loved. I posted ours a page or so back. I hope you get everything you want! If you want Sci-Fi try to book that first. I usually don't have a problem getting it, but nothing was available at all the day I tried to book (and now with having to pick a park per day it makes it tough).

If you have 3 females in your party you are brave doing only 1 bathroom (or maybe I should say your DH is)! On our trips with DS's and their GF's I looked at options and always went back to two rooms so we had enough beds and two bathrooms. It also depends on the resort room though too, and how much privacy the bathroom area gives you. Good luck getting the layout you want!

Yea, I would have paid for the upgrade too. A savannah view, IMO, is not comparable to BR. Have fun at your new resort!

We are still booked and hoping to go but nowhere 100% sure yet. Been trying multiple masks to try and find the best one for down there other than the paper ones which we will be taking also.

We purchased the memory maker before all of this happened but we don't want pictures of ourselves in masks so need to call and see if we can get a refund. They say you can't but I am sure going to try. Anyone tried and had any luck?

Have an alternate option ready Tusker House. As of right now, it's not open. Maybe it will open before September, but just be aware that you can't even get reservations for it yet.

Wednesday is our ADR day, I think I'm only going to book Droid Depot and Oga's and leave the rest up to fate lol I know pre-covid, i was told i didn't need to go in with ADRs as long as we didn't want anything super popular...what do you guys think of doing it that way now?

With things changing the way they are, who knows what will be open and what won't by the end of September. We're going to have a list of places we want to try, and go from there. I know i want to try Homecomin' and stop at Jock Lindsay's. The one ADR i was super excited about and looking forward to was Ohana for dinner, but we all know that's off the table.

I haven't heard of anyone having a hard time getting what they wanted for their trip, I wouldn't be too worried. I completely forgot about ADRs until 5 days after my window open and I was able to get California Grill, Oga's, and Homecomin' Brunch with no issue. The only snag I ran into was that certain resort restaurants (like Sebastian's) weren't available because they weren't open yet (even though it should be open by our trip) so I'll have to keep my eye on that.

Good luck! I think you'll get everything you want :)

I know about the bathroom situation !! I sort of dread it. It was at first just the hubs and I then my middle daughter asked if she could come and just last week my youngest daughter asked if she could come. I think if one of the DVC rental deals comes up for close to our dates then we may just add a room. Or, I guess I could switch to Poly studio for the better bathroom set up. It will work out though.

I just hope we get to go :)

Thanks, i was hoping that was the case. I'm thinking with less crowds, restaurants should be relatively open.

I also wonder if more people will cancel because of how strict Disney is getting with the masks and being stationery while eating. Maybe people were thinking they could get around it by eating or drinking constantly and now they can't.

Yea, I noticed while checking last night that Tusker is not open. No big deal. We will just have a quick breakfast in the room and go to Nomad Lounge and Flame Tree.

I was kind of bummed by the “new” rule. Was planning on buying popcorn And yummy drinks and wasn’t trying to skirt the rules but don’t really feel like pulling off to the side, I like to sip on my drinks and the popcorn was to keep kids entertained while walking around
