Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

I leave this month!!! :cool1: Ugh just so much to do. It don't help that dance resgistration is this month. Riley's b-day pary is next weekend. Just to get some things done I just place a Justice order for BTS and paid 20.00 in shipping. But that 20.00 is my sanity right now. My older dd wears there regualar size clothes but for some reason in bathing suits she need the 1/2 sizes so since I can't get those in store. So that is my justification.

Need to bring my oldest sneaker shopping for the trip this weekend. We are gonig to a cookout tonight. My mind is spining with everything I could get done if I didn't go. I made hair appointments for the week we leave today. Wish me luck I get this all done. LOL :thumbsup2

We switched back to pop after the 45 day mark we got our Mickey mail but it has the wrong resort. Should I expect some new mickey mail?

I understand the craziness. I don't leave until September 12 but I am in the south pacific from aug 30 - september 11. I have to have everything done before I leave...

omalleycat -- love your screen name (Aristocats is my second favorite Disney movie, after Mary Poppins, of course!) , and I can't wait to visit NZ someday. I keep telling my kids and DH that we're moving there before I get too old for a new adventure.

Thanks Julirina! O'Malley was the name of our big orange kitty who passed on a few years ago. He was gorgeous, we adopted him as an adult rescue and the rescue organisation had named him O'Malley. On the day we took him home my sister presented us with a copy of the Aristocats movie which was so sweet! We all love the movie. (One of our new cats was named Jasmine by her previous owner so we have kind of continued the Disney theme :) )
Funny about moving to NZ, I would LOVE to live somewhere in the states! I am US-obsessed and my travel costs would be so much lower! We met an American in Hawaii once who had travelled through NZ and he couldn't believe that I had never visited my own main island and major city :) Actually I have, but only to transit through the airport on the way to America...

I haven't even started thinking about packing. Trying to come up with simple adult costumes for the MNSSHP. We are taking our 2 girls to Pirate League, so we'd like to do something fun, and wear eye patches or something. Any ideas for the parents?
Any ideas where to get decent, but not expensive pirate costumes for kids? I have like 6 weeks to figure something out

I just booked the rental car for this trip, EZ Rent a Car had a Intermediate (mid-size) for $111.14 dollars for a Sept 11th - Sept 18th rental. It's the cheapest rate I've found so far. I usually keep to the "in-terminal" car rental company's it much easier. But I'll keep checking in case I find a better offer. :surfweb:

Are you watching the transportation board for a discount code? I'm sure you can find a deal with one of the airport rental companies as it gets closer.

I'm so glad we're taking the Autotrain so we don't have this expense. With 4 kids we have to rent a minivan and it's outrageously $pendy! Hopefully the train will be a good experience. Has anyone here done it?

Hmmm....sounds like we need to do a house-swap! Want to sublet for a year or so? On my end, you'd get a delightful 150-year-old farmhouse (three hours' drive from any decent-sized city) in the midst of a lengthy remodel with some yet-unfinished walls, no interior doors or trim, and in desperate need of new siding. You'd also get our two dogs, a flock of chickens, some barn cats, a rabbit and two goats to take care of. I know you just can't wait to sign on for all of that!!

We are heading out to Coronado on the 29th (hoping to go a day early and stay a day later!) and staying until the 7th. Very excited now that it is only 59 days away.

Planning a Disney MOvie Night marathon as we speak!:cool1:

Do you have a Party City in your area? (or something like it - it's a party "superstore") That's where we bought the costumes in my signature. About $20 each.

We do but i think they only sell costumes come halloween hopefully they bring them out before we leave.

We are flying this year but we usually always take the auto train! I'm a little disappointed we are not this time but it is just DH and me so it was much cheaper to fly.

My kids always liked the auto train. Bring on lots of snacks and drinks, games, movies and any other type of entertainment. They show a movie after dinner.

It's always seemed like another part of our vacation!

Enjoy!

You might want to check anyway -- I'll bet they have a pirate party section year-round because pirates are so "in" right now. They'll likely have some dress-up things -- eye patches, bandanas, hooks, etc -- even if they're not full costumes, you can probably pull something together.

I'm glad to hear a good review. I'm really looking forward to a ride for my 3yo where she doesn't have to be strapped in the whole time. She is not a good traveler. Unfortunately we're only taking the train one way (driving home with stops to visit relatives and friends along the way) so I'm just hopeful that the ride home is bearable for her.

Wow, that actually sounds like a dream to me!
