MNSSHP=Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, hard ticket event at the magic kingdom, great party went twice last year, if you can fit it into your schedule and budget I highly recommend to anyone.

thought this might help, if anyone was interested.

Thank you, that is very cool and helpful! Ugh, 90% humidity??? :scared: :headache: :crazy2: :faint: I have long, thick, curly hair, down to the middle of my back, and I've been thinking of cutting it for a quite while...this might be a good time, huh?

We loved Boma for dinner, AK lodge is beautiful and fun to look around. Mama Melrose was a pretty good Italian dinner, are you doing the Fantasmic package? Don't know about the others, but we are also doing Boma for breakfast, 1900 PF for breakfast, and Chefs de France for Dinner this trip, so I guess we'll find out with you!

I forgot to look at the hours of the parks. We don't really like the early morning hours but we do like the evening magic hours. I better hop over to allearsnet to get the hours and see if I need to rearrange any of our days.

Yeah, when I first start my planning, I always look to see EMH hours and special shows/parades that are only on certain days (like Spectromagic) and plan park days around that. Even though we always get hoppers, we try to stick to one park/area for the most part, to avoid spending precious hours on buses that could be spent on RIDES or TAKING PICTURES or EATING, for Pete's sake! :rotfl2: I confess I am a Disney commando and obsessive planner, but we sure have fun vacations :goodvibes

I added Boma breakfast OOP on our Blizzard Beach/HS day -- now I'm trying to work out the travel and logistics -- I'm thinking taxi is the best way to get there by 8 am?

Well, the first set of reservations is done. Now the question is - how many times will it change between now and September? :rotfl2:

9/20: Chef Mickey dinner
9/21: Wave (hopefully) dinner
9/22: Teppan Edo dinner
9/23: Kona Cafe (before MNSSHP) early dinner
9/24: Le Cellier lunch (still trying for dinner here)
9/25: 1900 Park Fare dinner
9/26: Tutto Italia dinner
9/27: Wave a sad good-bye to our favorite place :sad1:
.

I looked at the EMH and I think the only one I will take advantage of is the MGM evening magic hours on 9/22. We are eating at Mama Melrose but I decided not reserve the Fantasmic Dining Package. I read the "Passporter" description and it said we would have to eat a set menu and reserve it with a credit card. That doesn't sound good to me. We didn't have problems getting a seat at Fantasmic in January so I am not going to worry about seats. We probably will get there an hour early to find a seat and just relax for the long night ahead ;).

Is the parade schedule released yet? I got the EHM hours from the official disney website but I didn't see anything on parades.

I believe the busses start running at 7am. You should be able to take a bus instead of spending money on a taxi.

Katiebell,
Yes, we are doing the Fantasmic package. Last year we ate at Hollywood and Vine and it was OK. We are also having Lunch at Tusker House on the 24th!
Like you, I tried to plan around the EMH and the parades. I carry 3x5 index cards in a velcro clear pouch (which I made) with all my information. We didn't get the Fantasmic package on 9/22, so that made me change some things around. I hope to relax more this year now that I kind of know what to expect.
How was the weather last year during this week? We were there in late Oct. last year.

Hello fellow late-September vacationing DISers!

DH, DD4 and I took our first WDW vacation in February. DD and I caught the Disney bug, and I quickly booked a return trip for November. In the meantime, my old college roommate called after I emailed her some of our trip photos. She and her DD3 wanted to take their first WDW vacation (from AZ), but her DH and DS5 didn't want to go.:confused3 So, we booked a GIRLS ONLY trip for September 20-25!!!! We have planned heavy on the princess experiences, character meals, etc...a young girl's (or young at heart) dream WDW trip. I'm sure we will have many magical memories!

We thought it would be most fun to share a room...and I had a 30% off code...so we splurged and booked at GV room at GF. I think my nightly cost is around $135 a night at the GF! SO EXCITED! :yay: :yay: :yay:

So here is what we're doing...I was able to get all of our ADRs at the exact time we wanted.

September 20: Arrival Day/Epcot WS
September 21: Donald's Safari Breakfast/AK Day
September 22: Coral Reef Lunch/Epcot FW AM & MK evening
September 23: BBB appointments/CRT lunch/MNSSHP
September 24: Perfectly Princess Tea/HS Day
September 25: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare/Departure

The only thing (besides the weather) I am a little nervous about is getting from GF to AK for our 8:05 AM ADR at Donald's Safari Breakfast. That will be an early morning...:scared: Has anyone done this (or is doing it this trip)?

Anyone else staying at GF?

We ate at MM for the Fantasmic Package, but I don't think it was that important to get good seats. And the walk to the reserved seating is loonnnnnng  But the restaurant was good, we enjoyed ourselves. This time our dinner ADR for HS is at PT 50's, think it should be fun. Oh, and before we left, we dropped in to Sci Fi (before they closed, but the place wasn't crowded at all) and got some "grown up" shakes...I got a Marsha's Martian - chocolate and vanilla shake with Bailey's Irish Cream and Kahlua, WOW! And we got to check out the cool atmosphere...9/22 is our HS day because of those all-important EMH, so maybe we'll see you there! :sail:

Is the parade schedule released yet? I got the EHM hours from the official disney website but I didn't see anything on parades.

Found the parade schedule here on the DIS:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/sepfw08.cfm
Here's some dates and times of interest to us late September-goers:
SpectroMagic Parade

Wishes Nighttime Spectacular
September 20 -- 10:00 p.m.
September 22,25 -- 9:00 p.m.
September 21,24 -- 8:00 p.m.
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
September 1-30 -- 9:00 p.m.
Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
September 26 - November 9, 2008

I believe the busses start running at 7am. You should be able to take a bus instead of spending money on a taxi.

Welllll...if we can get ourselves out of bed and at the bus stop by 7 :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: That was our plan for the Akershus breakfast last May and ummm...we ended up getting a taxi at the last minute, RUNNING to Epcot from the parking lot :hyper: and arrived panting and sweaty and panicked about 10 minutes late :scared: :faint: And they were STILL nice and let us in :goodvibes So maybe we'll try "bus, with emergency taxi back-up plan B".

We are also having Lunch at Tusker House on the 24th!

How COOL!!! Maybe we'll see each other there...

Like you, I tried to plan around the EMH and the parades. I carry 3x5 index cards in a velcro clear pouch (which I made) with all my information.

I'm not an obsessive planner -- I'm not, I'm not, I'm NOT! :snooty: OK, maybe I am, just a little... :rotfl2:

Darn! Spectromagic isn't available the night we will be in M.K or any night we could make it over there?

Which parade is that again? hahaha...Is it the "light parade"? just don't want to miss anything?

We're staying at AS Sports, the 20th - 27th.
Our flights get in at 5:30, and we're hitching a ride on ME, do you suppose we could make it to MK for Spectro at 8:00? Otherwise I'm rescheduling our MK day to Monday in order to catch Spectro.
Ressies so far are Crystal Palace dinner and Teppan Edo dinner. I plan on making all of the rest of them by tomorrow.

I also have/had long thinks curly hair. I just recently got 12" cut off and donated to "Locks of Love". I have a 17mo son and he was using it as a rope to pull himself up...oouch. I love how easy it is to do my hair now. I think I will keep it this short (just to my chin...but enough to put it up) at least until my sons first trip to WDW.

9/17-9/27
Coronado Springs (FYI I have looked up all the EMH's)
9/17 Maya grill (may cancel and save ts pnt & eat @ pepp market)
9/18 Tonys town square dinner (MK am EMH)
9/19 H&V Character Playhouse lunch (Epcot pm EMH)
9/20 Chef Mickeys dinner (DHS am EMH)
9/21 Narcoossees dinner (during wishes) (MK pm EMH)
9/22 Le Cellier dinner (DHS & AK pm EMH)
9/23 Captain Jacks dinner (our waterpark day ..maybe) (Epcot am EMH)
9/24 Crystal Palace dinner (AK pm EMH)
9/25 Sci-Fi dinner (MK pm EMH)
9/26 MY B-DAY Coral Reef early dinner - Food & wine starts (Epcot pm EMH) hope to use snack pnts for late night snacks.

Please anyone tell me if they do not think we should go to any of these places.

I'll be there Sept 19-26! DH and I will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary on the 26th!

ETA, I was recognized by a fellow DIS-er on my last two trips. I still look just like the picture in my signature and I usually wear that Chip & Dale shirt every trip! Although, I did recently get new glasses with transitions lenses, so I might look a tiny bit different...

I am so stressed with this planning, I may not make it to September. I am concerned now that some of my ADR's will cause me to miss EMH's in the AM, and that we will be too tired in the pm to take advantage of the EMH's then. And I also worried it's going to be Africa hot at the end of September ( we're there the 18th to the 25th) and we'll roast. We are pretty used to humidity and heat here ( Delaware only has two seasons, winter and summer!) but I am reading all the posts about the heat in September, although they do seem to be a tad biased.

And on top of all this, I have to manage to keep this a SECRET from my daughter!!!

good gravy, what have I gotten myself into!!!:scared1:
