*~* Official POFQ September 2012 Roll Call - List in Post 1 - Join Us! *~*

By September they will be 10 and 8.

I'll bet your family is going to have a great time.

We don't have children ourselves, but sometimes when we go (as mentioned previously), family who lives in the area will come with us for a day or so who does have kids - it gives us a whole new perspective on everything. ;)

My dh and I will be there Sept. 9th - Sept. 15 with FD. This will be our first Disney trip and a late anniversary celebration. ADR's have been made and now I'm not so patiently waiting for September to arrive.:hyper:

:welcome: to the group ... and to the Dis!

How many years are you celebrating? What ADRs have you made?

I think you're in the same boat with the rest of us - nothing to do now but WAIT! :jumping1:

Hi neighbor,
I see you are from Columbia, MD. I live in Frederick.

Hiya neighbor! :yay:

I actually live in Severn now...I think i created my profile several years ago. I'm close to Arundel Mills mall (Ft. Meade area).

My partner, who is deaf, went to Maryland School for the Deaf, in Frederick though and I have a few friends who live in Frederick. Nice to meet you!

So, a couple of questions for you guys...WHY did you PICK POFQ?

We knew we wanted to go w/ a moderate resort and I liked the idea that POFQ was a little smaller and easier to get around. Also, heard that when POR and POFQ share buses, it stops at POFQ first. Oh! and the boat to DTD sounded like a lot of fun too! :goodvibes

This will be second trip to the resorts (I have been to disney a total of 5 times), and our first in a moderate....woohoo! We did stay in ASMo last time which was around 7 or 8 years ago.

LOL I was wondering the same thing of everyone ...

Our trip last September was our first stay on Disney property. We always stay with family, but last year just wanted to be enveloped in the whole experience. Well, you know how that goes ... once you stay there, you don't want to stay anywhere else!

We chose POP last year because of the theming. We thought it looked like fun, and it WAS! We only stayed 3 days though - not much time to really see or do much around the resort.

This time, we wanted a different atmosphere - a place that looked a little more "grown up" without a huge price tag. I looked at all the mod resorts, then got recommendations from our nephew who used to be a CM. Without hesitation, he said POFQ was the way to go for a mod. So I called my TA and had her set everything up!

We are hoping to go back next year - if we don't get a good bounceback offer, we may just go with a value (I'm looking into ASMu).

Thanks for the welcome. We'll be celebrating our 5th anniversary in July, but dh started a new job late last year. So he won't have a full vacation until August, which works out great with FD. ADR's are Ohana, Hoop De Doo, Sci Fi Dine In and 50's Prime.

When dh and I decided we were going to stay a moderate. I did the research and narrowed it down to CSR and POFQ. I let dh make the final decision and he thought the CSR was " to resort-like." The very reason I liked it. He thinks the POFQ "has character". I've always wanted to go to New Orleans and so his agrument was "it will be like two vacations in one, disney and new orleans" :rolleyes1 So POFQ it isand I have to admit I'm excited about the decision.

I just booked yesterday, August 26th through September 4th for me and the DW. It's my first trip to DW since High School, many many moons ago. I'm very excited to go, but I have an Alaskan summer to enjoy first. I'm having trouble booking our ADRs online. We have the DDP, but the online system doesn't recognize our reservation number. I will call tomorrow morning and see what can be done. The POFQ definitely looks like a great resort to stay in.

:welcome: You'll be there in September, that's all that matters ;) Glad you could join us!

Definitely try doing your ressies by phone. Lots of us had/have problems with the online system recognizing the reservation number (or it will only let us book for one day at a time). I was on and off the phone in 15 minutes, including survey.

Everyone's ADRs sound great!

What I want to know is ... who is planning/hoping to go to MNSSHP? DH and I are definitely going - it will be our first time! And yep, we're dressing up too!

what is "MNSSHP"? I keep hearing it, but don't have a clue what that stands for :confused3

MNSSHP is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. ;) It is a special hard-ticketed event held at the Magic Kingdom in September and October. The MK is decorated with Fall/Halloween decorations, there is a special parade and fireworks ("Boo to You" and "Hallowishes", respectively). The headless horseman rides at the beginning of the parade to open it - I've heard it is something to see!

You can dress up or not, whatever you decide. There is trick-or-treating, as well as special character meet & greets and photo ops.

The party starts at 7 p.m. and runs to Midnight, but you can enter the park as early as 4 p.m. with your ticket. You will get a wristband identifying you as a "party-goer". Those without wristbands will have to leave the MK beginning at 7 p.m. You do not need to purchase MK admission to go to MNSSHP.

This takes place on various days - mostly Tuesdays and Fridays, but I think they also add Sundays as it gets closer to Halloween. Tickets run about $60 for September parties, but the price is closer to $80 for October (if I remember right). Yep, that price is per person. :upsidedow

This is the first time DH and I will be participating in the party, and we can't wait! We're trying to figure out what we will be dressing up as - we aren't very creative, we don't have many ideas yet. LOL

HTH :goodvibes

We will be there 9/22 till 9/30.:goodvibes

Count us in. We'll be there from the 1st thru the 8th on our free dining bounceback. Come on September!
