***Official Planning Thread -DECEMBER 2024 - Welcome all!***

We are experiencing bone chilling cold+wind chills (feels like 0; earlier was negatives). We could use some sun to get through the next few months.
Yes! UGH Wisconsin!

I will be packing shorts and tshirts and swimsuits. Even 70 will feel toasty to us later this month!

Just a word of advice to all future December travelers - keep checking the park hours every day, especially in the morning you are planning to enter the park. We had two days of an unexpected early hour. Both MK yesterday and Hollywood Studios this morning had earlier hours than I expected.

MK is not crowded on a Christmas party day. We had a 20 minute wait time Jingle Cruise yesterday, and that was after the park had been open for almost two hours, for example. :)

Thanks for the reminder. Historically I subscribed to Touring plans and they sent a notification if any park hours changed. I wish WDW would have a notification system built into their app.

Did they change park hours a day before or you checked before you left from home/travelled?

Posted this in wrong thread!

Halfway through trip!

We are having a good time.

Thoughts so far:

So much more crowded than we thought it would be. We are late October people normally and this trip has been the biggest crowds we've ever experienced! Staying at AKL, beautiful but again, lobby is never not crowded. Very chaotic.

Did LLPP at MK and Epcot. Completely worth it with these crowds.

Christmas party was fun, but we like the Halloween party a lot more.

Dinner at Amare was fantastic!!!

Overall, we won't be doing a December trip again. Weather just so so temperature wise.

Booked a placeholder reservation at Boardwalk for next Halloween. May or may not go, but 35% off too good to pass up. $483 a night!

It’s now high 70s-80s. Nice and warm all of those days. I would still take a jacket just in case.
I will be walking to/from the metro to/from the airport so I will have layers, earmuffs, and gloves with me! Only going for 3 days so I will have room in my carryon to stuff the coat etc once I get into the airport. The potential rain on Jollywood night is looking a bit better

It's supposed to get to 60 here in the DC area tomorrow, but it doesn't last and nighttime lows still cold.

I've been busy and have overnight guests this weekend, really looking forward to that 7 AM flight Monday! And on to Epcot.

Leaving Monday--temperature in the 80s but Wednesday a cold front is coming in and high 59 which means in the 40s at night!! Packing both summer and winter! Hubby said the wind is going to be rough Wed. & Thursday! Pack accordingly everybody---I'm thinking earmuffs now! LOL

I'm still smiling tho---We're going to Disney!!!! Haven't been in 11 years!!!

Probably Uber/Lyft, or by boat: GF->MK->FW
We are trying to get from an ADR 5:20 pm (will make sure to check in by 5 pm) at the GF to the sleigh rides at 8:30 pm. An hour would be ok (not that I can change my ADR by a long shot)?

I'm not sure when they changed the park hours for MK and DHS. But I do think it was very, very recent.

We are back from a very fun trip. My sister-in-law already wants to plan two more trips - one in August and one in November. She wants to make good use of her brand-new annual pass. :) I was able to book a bounce back trip for August online and without having to call Disney to book it. That was super easy. :)

When did you get email with link to make reservations? Arrived yesterday but haven’t seen anything with email link.

Arrived yesterday after a terrible experience with SWA. Ended up landing almost 3 hrs late but minutes before SWA would be required to compensate. Very interesting how that worked out for them but basically ruined the day for us…we expected to arrive at resort by 10:30 am and have lunch at Homecoming. Didn’t arrive at resort until almost 2.

We booked for end of October! Fantastic discount at Boardwalk Inn!
