***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

Congratulations, I think it's a great move to fly rather than drive. We considered this also, considering the weather should not be a factor. But we figured we'd be more rested by flying rather than driving.

I guess we will be neighbours, we are staying next door @ POFQ (same dates). We are also going to MNSSHP during our stay - we are going on Oct.23.

Enjoy your vacation!!!

Yay! We are going to MNSSHP on the 25th-it will be our 3rd time-it's a ton of fun. Have you stayed at POFQ before? I was able to stay there in March-it's a beautiful resort, I loved it. This will be our first time at POR!

Happy travels!

I have a question for you all. If any of you have used Undercover Tourist for your park tickets...have you ever picked them up there? Or do you always mail?

DD decided to join us for 3 days in the middle of our stay last Thurs. so I bought a ticket from UCT and it came in the mail today. We are on the west coast too so I would think you would get it just as quickly.

Never been to POFQ, actually it's our second trip to Disney, first time staying on-site.

I did mail for UC tickets last year and they came quick- very happy with their service!

you guys will love POR, it is my favorite mod!!!!:thumbsup2

I cant believe how fast time is moving now that Sept is here. I hope it keeps going like this. Although in a way I wish it would slow down, soon the trip will be over and I will be left with nothing to look foward to.

I will be happy when the trip comes because that means a break from classes! I spoke to all my professors and it looks like I will only have to worry about one class while I am down there. We have a project that is due the day after I get back, but we can do it with a partner and I already found one willing to work with me even with me being out of town! It also looks like we will have three or so weeks to do it, which will help a ton as well.

Then I have the rest of the semester, my 10 year anniversary with my boyfriend Oct 25, and then we hit the holiday season! I love this time of the year!

I hear that, I will be in the last week of classes for the semester the week we leave so I had to choose classes that I would be able to work the trip around. How awesome on such an anniversary. Congrats.

Hi October Peeps!

Well, I made a drastic move today (for me at least), I found some pretty good pricing in airfare and now we get to fly instead of drive!! Very exciting! I will take a 2 hour flight and a couple more hours for travel and hanging out at the airport any day over a 15+ drive each way. It's freaking me out a little-just b/c it was more money and I hadn't planned it-but I think it is the best move-if for no other reason than we won't be totally wiped from the long drive and having to go back to work-yuck!

Anyways....trip details...Me, DH, DS12, DS5 and DS4...

*10/22-10/29 POR (1st time) with FD
*ADR's made: Boatwright's, 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, LTT, Mama Melrose's, Biergarten and Coral Reef
*MNSSHP tickets in hand
*Pirate League and Cruise reserved for DS5
*Schedule made and all ready to go

I'm as ready as I can be at the moment-happy planning to all!

Travel safe and have fun!
Adding you to the first post!!! You are required to search me out and say hello. Mainly, because we are staying at the same resort!!!!! It looks like our ADRs are different from each other, but your kids will love the Pirate League Cruise (my DS took it back in 2007). I can't wait either!!!!

exwdwcm - great advice!!!! Believe it or not, I have that checklist in paper form and do actually cross things off as I do them. Did you mention call the bank and turn the fraud alert off? I have to do that when I go on vacation or they turn off my credit cards. :lmao:

And, on another note: I paid off my trip this morning!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I think that's the only good news I am going to get today. :( DD got her schedule yesterday (first day of school) and it is all sorts of flubbed up. And the principal is being one of those "well, if I do it for her, I have to do it for everyone". UGH And I know this!!!! Heck, I even yelled at one of the salemsan last Friday saying almost this same phrase. BUT....art is what she wants to do. The four art courses were her top choices. We would not have chosen alternatives if we had the ability (you have to choose.....they make you). And now she has no art classes and art is her major!!!!! She wants to work in the world of art; whether it's as an artist for a comic book, a museum curator or a teacher, that's what she wants to do. And the school is not giving her the classes to do it.

AAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Ok....rant over. Just had to get that off my chest.

I soooo have to fold clothes tonight. My closet is beginning to overflow. And I just have to clean. I was really lazy this past weekend and didn't do anything. We're hosting Thanksgiving at our house, and that comes up so fast once we get back from Disney.

OK...everyone have a great day!!!!

Well let September begin (yes I know it started 7 days ago but I have been in a fog). We made it through the burial and it's time to look forward.

Kate started school today she was so excited - she couldn't even sit still for breakfast. I am beginning the search for a descent camera lens for our Canon SLR. I just love spending DH money.:rotfl2:

Not sure how many days to go before vacation but I know that it is approaching quickly. Guess I will know after I post. Time to sign off and get lunch for DS.

Editing to say Holy smokes only 41 days until we are enjoying the Disney Magic.

I hear that, I will be in the last week of classes for the semester the week we leave so I had to choose classes that I would be able to work the trip around. How awesome on such an anniversary. Congrats.

Thanks for the congrats! All I know about the anniversary is that I will be hearing "So, when are you getting married?" the whole day. Then again, we hear it all the time, especially when people find out how long we have been together.

I am so excited for the trip. After the week I have had, I could use it. Have you ever had one of those weeks where so many bad things happen? Not just to you personally, but also to your friends? That is the kind of week we have been having around it. I'm just waiting for the next thing to happen .

I'm going to post our plans here so that I can see them... if anyone matches up, let me know so I can be sure to say hi!

Oct 14- Arrival at MCO at 2:30PM and DME to POFQ. Dinner at Flying Fish at 7:40PM (taking a taxi I think).

Oct 15- Animal Kingdom Rope Drop. Dinner at Boma at 5:10PM.

Oct 19- Magic Kingdom for Parade and Wishes. Lunch at Via Napoli at 12:45pm (before heading to MK).

I know, i want it to hurry up before the trip, but i want it to go SUPER SLOW the week we are there! is that too much to ask? :confused3:rotfl:

GREAT tips on the bank and on CC- be sure to call and let them know you are travelling so they don't put a hold on your card!

so sorry on your DD- that is terrible! what grade is she in?

We used to get the same thing! But we don't anymore. I think people gave up (including my family)! LOL. We are at almost 8 years.

On another note: 30 days

First - I was bored at work this morning, so I typed up all of my shopping/packing lists - I think it totals 8, yes 8 lists...I am WAY too organized. - I made these lists -
1 - $ store shopping
2 - Grocery Store
3 - Car packing list
4 - bathroom packing lists
5 - DH packing list
6 - my packing list
7 - DD packing list
8 - medication packing list

Oh - and I made notes on my calender on each day the week before we leave as to what I need to get done/cleaned that day.

Second - school, my DS (junior) started a week ago and thank goodness his schedule was great this semester - all core classes so it will be a ton of work, but then he can kinda relax second semester. - First semester is ALWAYS busy for him b\c of JROTC and drill meets.

Third - Make your DH do some of it, he is home all day right??? My DH is on vacation this week b\c he has 4 weeks vacation a year and he can't accumulate them anymore so he chose this week b\c no one else was off - so I leave him a "to do" list every day. That way I have more time to DIS!:lmao:

I am hoping for some kind of bounce back offer for April - even though I am sure there will not be one - I am already pre-planning next trip.

Glad you are back! We are searching for a lens for our Canon SLR as well. I'll let you know if we find a good deal.

My husband clean? Nope....not a chance. It's the OCD in me.....it has to be a certain way. I just can't help it. And some stuff its not fair to make him clean. Like my dresser.....it's overflowing with skirts and pantsuits that I take off and throw on there with the "I'll hang it up later" mentality. It's my mess, I'll clean it. And with the bathroom? He tries, he really does, but it is just not clean to my standards. And I have to install the new toliet seat and new toliet holder to the wall. It's easier to just do it myself....he'll hurt himself if he touches my tools.

Don't get me wrong....he vacuums, does the laundry, keeps the living room and the kitchen straight, and takes care of the litter box. So, it's not like he is sitting on his hands. Oh, and he handles all the outside stuff, too.

My daughter is in 7th grade. And I know that is kinda young to know what you want to do, but I knew from 2nd grade what I wanted to do....and I'm doing it. I'm going to do everything I can to help her achieve her goals. And I am a bit over-involved compared to many of the other parents. But that's my job as a parent, to make sure she is doing her homework and completes all assignments on time. We supplement a lot at home with workbooks and extra activities.

Anyway....I emailed the superintendent, the Director of Curriculum, the Director of Humanities, and the art teacher. Maybe one of them can help. Hey....I can only try. It just twists my stomach that they don't seem to care about her top four choices, only the alternatives. I mean....we don't have that many kids in our school district.

Have a great afternoon, all....I'm heading home.
