Well we had to cancel our trip today  My husband found out that because of a special project at work that he can not take his vacation that week. I already have our tickets for the Not So Scary Party on November 1st. I am thinking of trying to sell them for 30.00 a piece on Ebay don't think I would really get full price for them. I just feel horrible telling my kids today that we can't go.

I'm so sorry! I don't know about ebay, but maybe someone here on the DIS could use them. The other thing may be in your local Craig's List. Here and Craig's List would be free, so you might want to try them first.

Do you get to re-schedule your trip?

We already have another one scheduled for March for a Band Trip for School it will be a small one then going to shoot either for June or October. I didn't know if I could post them on the Dis because it was me selling something?

Oh, good point! I didn't even think about that.

It is Mad Hatress! I bought this lil mini-mad hatter hat so I'm trying to match that. Something simple: tutu (long-ish one because I'm too old for the sexy ones. ha), knee-length tights, bustier/tank thing. I not usually a costume person, so this is really going all out for me. HA

That is super cute! I love the idea! I hope you share pics!

I'm so sorry to hear this!!! i'm glad you at least get to go for a bit in March, but I am so sorry that this trip isn't working out. I guess no other week in October works?

Sorry you had to cancel your trip. Before you try selling your tickets call Disney and find out if they might refund (it never hurts to try).

I am so sorry. No other weeks work, huh? I like the idea of calling Disney and asking for a refund. They may understand. Or Craigs List.

Thanks!!! That's the exact one I found when I started looking. I love the designs she created!

I will! Just went out looking, but I don't want to spend $35 on a top. I'm going to guess I'm going to end up with just a tank/cami, but I least I will be comfy!

One costume down, three (or four if I can talk hubby into it) to go!! Got my Little Monkey's costume. First we got him a ghostbusters costume, complete with inflatable proton pack. Well, the pack is too big for him. Even with eveything sinched as tight as it would go, it still slips right off him. Without the pack, the costume isn't any fun. So, exchange for a Spiderman costume. My Monkey is 3 years old, but is in the middle of a growth spert and can pass as a 5year old on looks and hight. So, back to Spiderman. Tried the costume on at the store (minus the hood) and it "just" fit, no room to grow. I wasn't thinking clealry when I bought it. Got it home and tried on the hood, doesn't fit. Back to the store again and bought the kids small 4-6 (the 1st Spidey was a toodler 3t-4t). It's a little long in the leg, but the hood fits and it lights up.

This Friday I get to go on the search for my DD10's gypsy princess costume.:thumbsup2:surfweb:

I have a question about the Mousekeeping envelopes. Don't you only tip once? Or do you tip daily? I guess maybe it would be different for me since we are DVC and will only have them once on a 7-day trip.

Basically, I'm trying to find a reason to need these. ha.

I guess DVC would be different. But we tipped everyday for a regular room.

We had a weird situation on our last trip. I had all these cute envelopes from the DiSigners board, and I Filled them before I went. But mousekeeping wouldn't take them. We moved them around the room, opened them so she could see what it was, labeled them with the day - nothing. We never ran into her, so i couldnt just hand them to her. Finally, after like 5 days I stopped at concierge and asked if I was doing something wrong. He couldn't figure it out either. But the next day, they were gone. I just hope I didn't get the poor woman in trouble. :confused3

We also printed thank you cards with our family's name on them. And gave them to CMs that were particularly helpful.

Yea, DVC would be different. When you get daily mousekeeping there is a real chance that the mousekeeper could be different. As such, you want to tip daily to make sure THAT mousekeeper gets their tip... and not just whomever happens to do it the last day.

CALL DISNEY! They have, in the past, refunded due to canceled trips. No promises, but call them and explain the situation and see if they can do anything.

Hi! im going since 20 - 24 of october! the 23rd i'm going to MNSSHP :)

I came on here so someone could convince me that I did *not* need to go to MnSSHP, and I see this post. We'll be at F&W Oct 20-24 (no, I'm not making that up). And I realized we could squeeze in MNSSHP on the 23rd. do you think this is a sign? (I mean, a sign of something other than the fact that I need serious help! :rotfl:)

Seriously though, this is an extra trip we're squeezing in because I got an unexpected bonus at work. and, of course, I'm already spending about twice my bonus. We don't need it, but it's oh so tempting. :rolleyes1

Our current plan is to do Fantasmic (just Fantasmic and maybe the new Star Tours) and the boardwalk on our arrival day. Then F&W fri-Sun with various Epcot rides in between. If we get YC with a discount (still waiting!!! :surfweb:) we'll have a pool day at Stormalong Bay Fri morning before WS opens. If we don't (backup plan is Dolphin) I was thinking to schedule a pirate cruise for my son. But if we do MNSSHP, I'd skip that and surprise him with the party. Did I mention the 23rd is his 9th birthday? (Really, really tempting.)

On the other hand, we did MNSSHP last year (loved it!) and this trip is all about the food.

You know, I had almost talked myself out of this. But now all I can think about is that this would be the awesomeist birthday party ever. Now, how to pitch it to the hubby. :rolleyes1

Best. Birthday. Surprise. Ever. He won't even see it coming since you guys went last year. And how much fun will he be having at F&W? This will be just for him...:rolleyes1

Not putting down F&W AT ALL, btw, just doing my job as a persuader. Ha.

I sympathize with the size thing. I was actually reently asked when DS2.9 would be turning 5....I was like...what?!? Does he really look that tall? And then I remembered I buy 4T stuff for him. Needless to say, the birth certificate is coming with me.

Can I ask where you got the Spiderman costume....that's what my little guy wants to be this year (I tried Capt. America but was over-ruled).

Hi! im going since 20 - 24 of october! the 23rd i'm going to MNSSHP :)
Will add you to the first post when I get to work!!!!

Terri - I want to go to the MNSSHP, too!!!! But DH does not want to and I don't want to take the kids by myself. Who knows....maybe I can convince him of it when we're there. ;) It would be a cool birthday surprise for your DS though!

Best. Birthday. Surprise. Ever. He won't even see it coming since you guys went last year. And how much fun will he be having at F&W? This will be just for him...:rolleyes1

Actually DS8 is a big foodie like we are, so he's thrilled to be going to F&W. But you're right, we've been trying to do something special "just for him". That's why we are starting with Fantasmic and i'm trying to include Pirates or Stormalong Bay. But this would be totally over the top.

So I was planning to go to bed early last night. But once I posted, I realized I wouldn't be able to sleep until I had pitched the idea to DH and DSis (they were at the Rays game). So I decided to wait up for them and accost them with the new plan as soon as they walked in the door (and vented over the loss). I should preface this by saying DH is not a planner. Normally he doesn't want to hear about a vacation until we're heading out the door. I expected him not to want to hear the pitch at all, let alone to be on board with it. So they get home after 11:00. *Two hours later* we've long since decided on MNSSHP and are still rearranging the other logistics. :surfweb:

Needless to say, i'm exhausted but happy. :goodvibes It's going to be a long week. But Pirates is off the table. And we're going to choose between Fantasmic and Stormalong Bay, depending on resort, of course. DS knows about both of those options, so we have to keep one of them, since we want to keep the party a surprise and he'll be disappointed if we don't. But we still want to maximize F&W time and not feel like we're shorting that. We're determined to eat everything on the list. :woohoo: I'm also slightly worried now about DS getting enough sleep (he has severe ADHD and sleep matters). But we'll be on the boardwalk, so we'll manage it even if it means naps.

Need to go run a PTA meeting now and then get to work. But sometime today I need to re-work the plan and think about costumes. Did I mention that DH wants to wear a costume? Seriously, it's more than a decade since DH has worn a Halloween costume and then, only under protest. :dance3:

Terri....such great news!!!! I like that your DH is getting into it! And I understand about the ADHD...my DS10 has it and even with meds (which we were totally against at first), sometimes it still isn't controllable. He had a breakdown Monday morning and didn't want to go to school. I'm 20 minutes away, so I just gently talked to him and told him he could ride his bike. Sometimes it is just so hard, but when we're in Disney, I make sure to involve him and ask what he would like to do and if he wants to go anywhere in particular.

Congrats on the new plans and have a good day!!!:goodvibes

Spirit Halloween, they have a website spirithalloween.com. I also have a code for $$ off over a certain dolloar amount spent if you need it (spend X get Y off and as the X gets bigger, so does the Y). They even have Spidey gloves.

I think we're married to the same guy!!:rotfl2: Mine will ask questions and then follow up with "Why did you do that?!" And he'll flip flop. For example, when I booked the flight and requested our seats, he wanted to make sure I had requested window seats for the kids (first time on a plane) and not looking at a wing and not an isle seat because he didn't want his elbow bumped by the food tray. Then a week and half later he says he needs an isle seat because he can extend one leg completely and he wouldn't be completley cramped. I'm going to get my DH a Ceasar costume (I'm going as a goddess). If he doesn't wear it, I can exchange it for some other halloween decor when we get home.
