QUOTE=tambam500;42447881]Got my ME packet today!!!! i'm so excited 31 more days !!!:cool1:[/QUOTE]

I know this may be a dumb question to all of you veterans but This is my first Disney trip since I was 12, and my DH and DS(8) first trip ever. Could you please tell me what comes in the ME packet, and what else I am to expect to recieve and when. I thought my TA said that we would get our tickets when we arrived at our resort (POP), but now i'm thinking I made that up. So anxious to get something. I'm 46 days away from leaving:cloud9:, so if I'm getting something, it should be prett soon right?

Thanks!

I have never done a package with tickets before but about 30 days before you leave you will get your Me packet. It includes the tickets for the bus ride to Disney and back home and luggage tags - 1 per person. I am pretty sure everything else you get when you arrive at your resort.

LMC, hope the lovey help. At least you can take the paci away. I have a thumb sucker. I took the paci away at about 18 months and she picked up her thumb instead. As she gets older she sucks less (now really only to fall asleep) but still.... Best of luck.

Heath bar, my DD is recently potty trained (not in pullups anymore) and my plan is to go to the BR right before we get on lines that look like they might be a while. I do this when we're out, like in the mall if a store looks crowded and I might be on line for a few, BR break first. I haven't had a problem yet. Although some of those lines in WDW can get long so.... may luck be on our side!!!

If any of you are D23 members, the details of the sip & stroll event have been released. I've never been to a D23 event and was thinking about going to this one since I'll be at WDW during the dates but I think I'll pass given the ticket price ($195).

DATES October 16–17, 2011

LOCATION Epcot, Walt Disney World Resort

TIME Check in begins at 6 p.m. on October 16

TICKETS Available Tuesday, September 13, Cost: $195 per person

Join the D23 Team as we once again celebrate the savory sensations of Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival with a weekend of unique events and experiences just for D23 Members. The festivities begin Sunday evening as we gather for a reception on the second floor of The American Adventure pavilion, featuring a selection of wine and artisan cheeses. Beer and non-alcoholic beverages will also be served to set the tone for a fabulous event.

We will then proceed to the foyer of The American Adventure rotunda for a sumptuous dinner served in the rotunda with special guest, Disney Legend Bob Gurr. In keeping with our “American adventure,” each station will be themed to a different region of the United States. Guests will be able to enjoy New Orleans crayfish soup, crisp California greens, Pacific Coast salmon, basil-seared North Carolina chicken breast with Georgia peaches, Midwestern grass-fed beef medallions with a Washington State Cabernet Demi and much more! The cross-country dessert selection includes Key Lime Pie, Louisiana pecan squares and other sweet treats.

Monday morning we will convene inside the World Showplace in Epcot’s World Showcase for a morning of culinary delights. Marianne Hunnel and Michael Jenner, event content development area manager and operations manager, respectively, for the festival will give guests a look at the rich (and delicious!) history and highlight some of the new additions to this year’s event.

Then it’s time for a pairing party! Expert chefs and food and wine aficionados will walk guests through a selection of wine and beer pairings with international delicacies from Hawaii, the Caribbean, Portugal, and Scandinavia—all regions being highlighted in this year’s Festival.

That afternoon, guests can join D23 head Steven Clark and others from the D23 Team as we sip and stroll our way around World Showcase—stopping in two special locations around the lagoon for a special Sip & Stroll treat.

Also during the day, take some time to get out of the sun and relax! The VIP lounge inside The American Adventure parlor will be open just for D23 Members as a place to enjoy some water or lemonade. If you haven’t seen the elegantly designed lounge, you will definitely want to stop in for a look and a libation. You also won’t want to miss the selection of exclusive D23 merchandise on display in the lounge, including our new collection featuring Bacchus, the god of wine, as from Fantasia, and his pal Jacchus, which will be available for order. All purchases will be shipped directly to your home!

That evening we will gather at the America Gardens Theatre for reserved seating to the Eat to the Beat concert, featuring Sugar Ray (“Fly,” “Every Morning,” “Someday”).

We’ll then walk over to Isle de France, in front of the French pavilion for private, reserved viewing of the nighttime spectacular IllumiNations and a dessert party that will include such sweet sensations as fresh strawberries, coffee-dusted compressed chocolate brownies, a doughnut flambé station and more! The perfect way to end a fantastic food-filled weekend!

Included with the cost of your ticket:
•Private wine and cheese reception Sunday evening on the second floor of The American Adventure rotunda
•Dinner Sunday evening inside the foyer of The American Adventure
•Exclusive presentations Monday at the World Showplace from Marianne Hunnel and Michael Jenner
•A pairing party inside the World Showplace with flavorful wines and beers pairs with cuisines from Hawaii, the Caribbean, Portugal, Italy, France and Germany

Night 2 with no crying! :cool1: Just a little whining and she's asking one of us to lay with her for a little, which I'll do because that's easier to break than the binky. Once she's out of the binky habit we'll be able to phase out of being in her room again. I don't mind getting tough for that.

Thank goodness for Tigger and Piglet!

AND she insisted on wearing underwear tonight and went on the potty, so I don't know if that was a fluke or she's decided to try potty training for real now. :confused3 She's the type of child that will just decide to do something and be done with it, so I wouldn't doubt she's made up her mind there. The binky and potty training all in one week? Could it be true???

Have a good night all!

Can someone tell me about the mini golf coupons? Do they have names and dates on them? We rented DVC points so we won't be getting them :(

Info from the Orlando Sentinel on this year's Mickey's Halloween Party:

The first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom is just two weeks away, and repeat visitors will notice a few changes. Most are the result of Mickey’s Toontown Fair closing for the Fantasyland expansion construction, a Walt Disney World spokesperson said.

Alice & Mad Hatter’s Treat Trail, which started in Toontown and ended by Space Mountain in Tomorrowland, has been re-imagined as Br’er Rabbit’s Candy Patch and will be near Splash Mountain in Frontierland.

As is tradition, popular Disney characters will appear in their Halloween costumes for meet-and-greets. This year, the main site will be in the Town Square Theater, which is where Mickey and Minnie relocated when their houses were removed from Toontown earlier this year. The Disney Princesses will be in the theater as well, and Duffy the Disney Bear and Winnie the Pooh and friends will be outside by the flagpole. Their rarely seen counterparts can be found throughout the Magic Kingdom, including Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs, who also have moved into Frontierland.

The face-painting station in Toontown, which was free during the Halloween party, has closed. Guests who are interested in costuming and makeovers can visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Cinderella Castle and A Pirate’s League in Adventureland, where packages start at $49.95 for princesses and $29.95 for pirates. Reservations should be made in advance at 407-WDW-STYLE. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique stays open until 8 p.m. on party nights.

Finally, Disney’s Villains Mix & Mingle has a few new “tweaks and shrieks,” I’m told. In the stage show, Facilier has his own song, another song has been imported from a Tokyo Disneyland parade, and the dancers have new costumes.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party takes place from 7 p.m. to midnight Sept. 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30; Oct. 2, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31; and Nov. 1.

Me (DH40) and my DW(34) are surprising our kids, DD(9) DS(7) with our vacation.

Right now they are under the impression we are going to South Carolina to do a few factory tours and then to NC to the Biltmore in Asheville.

We do not plan on telling them the truth until we are well into South Carolina on our drive from Virginia.

We are staying at Poly GV, Arrive October 23rd and Depart November 2.

We have ADR's like crazy and are very excited to see the reaction once we tell the them truth.

We use AAA every time we book to Disney and it's just as if you use Disney to book. No difference whatsoever. You can send them your flight info too and they will coordinate everything. You don't have to contact ME at all. We're using AirTran and I sent my flight info to my TA and she sent that info to Disney, so when we get there our names will be with Disney ME, but even if they didn't have our flight info, Disney knows what day we're coming and around what time, so they are expecting us that day. It'll be in your travel package. You'll get a luggage tag from Disney that will send your bags straight from the plane to ME and then you'll walk down to ME and give them your ticket that AAA will give you in your travel packet and you'll be all set. It's the same info you'd get directly from Disney. AAA is one of their exclusive travel agencies, so they are awesome to deal with for Disney!! You'll be great - don't worry!!!

I actually had our TA make the AirTran reservations so I'm good with that. I know that she marked ME but I wasn't sure if that meant I would automatically get my luggage tags. I remember reading in other reports (years ago) that people would call ME so many days out. So glad I don't have to worry. Thanks!

We are doing the same thing with my DD9 and DS6. We are going to tell them that morning that they have to leave school a little early that day for a dentist appointment. When we are getting close to the airport we will ask them if they want to stop and see the planes landing and THEN ask them if they would like to fly to Disney World right now!! That is our plan for now unless we can come up with something better! I just feel like they are missing out on a fun part which is the anticipation of the trip coming up. Another part of me says it is for the better b/c my 4th grader would get distracted from her studies if she knew we were going! My Dh by all means wants it kept a secret!!
