Official October 2010 Thread!!- INCLUDE YOUR DATE/RESORT IN YOUR HEADER!!

We (our family of 4) are going on October 17-22 and staying at Caribbean Beach! It will be our first trip as a family there (though we have all been before, just not all together).

Well, just booked this weekend (flight prices were too good to bother with any further delay). Will be doing MNSSHP on the 26th and plan for the 3D Dessert party at EPCOT on the 28th (assuming I can snag tickets tomorrow). Of course we'll be doing the F&W Festival, and we'll be taking one day off of Disney magic to go see the WWHP at Universal.

For those who have attended Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party before, would you recommend it? We don't have any kids so I am just wondering if it is worth it for the two of us.

DH and I don't have kids yet either and we thought it was a lot of fun. It's worth it for the shorter lines and the special parade and fireworks show, but seeing everybody in their costumes is the best part!

It will be ME, DH, DS and his girlfriend, DD and her friend and friend's mother. We plan on going to MNSSHP on the 26th. So excited :woohoo:

I see some people are planning on going to Dessert Party, what is this and how much is it and what does it all include? Thanks

That depends....are you asking about the Wishes Dessert Party:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm#wishes

Or the brand new F&WF special event:

NEW- 3D Disney's Dessert Discovery- World ShowPlace Pavilion, This is a dessert lover's dream. Select Thursday and Friday evenings you can sample a variety of desserts and cordials. You will also enjoy VIP viewing of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. 10/8, 10/15/, 10/21, 10/28. 11/5, 11/12 Price: $45.00 per peron plus tax. Gratuity included. Theme park admission is required.

Thanks for info on both Wishes and F&WF Dessert parties. Boy that seems like a lot of money for desserts and just a special viewing. But we do have a party of 7, so it may just seem like alot to me.

-looking for a place to hide- :rotfl: I'll be there 10/4-10/9, only 6 of us though!

It has been 4 years since our last trip. No kids this time. Staying at the Swan Oct. 14 through Oct. 19. Just picked up the 3D Disney Dessert Discovery tickets today!!!!

Can't wait!!:yay:

Our family is having an early Christmas together in WDW! I had enough frequent flyer points to bring my three grandchildren (two from Canada, one from England) and both of my daughters from Canada to Orlando.

We're staying at Pop Century in preferred rooms and trying the free quick service dining plan. This is the first time at Disney for my grandchildren and the 2nd time for the adults. It's our first time staying at a Disney resort! We also booked tickets for the MNSSHP for the 28th. We're trying to think of a costume theme! I like Wizard of Oz, and my granddaughter says she wants to go as Toto!!

We're also doing one day at Universal to take in the new Harry Potter theme park. I read all of the HP books over the phone to my grandson (a great way to stay in touch after I moved away), so it's a must-do for the two of us!!

This forum is a great way to learn. Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge of Disney!

Hi everyone! My DSis and I will be visiting over Columbus Day weekend this year, and we're not sure how bad the crowds are going to be at Epcot on the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend.

We are planning on visiting AK on that Saturday to avoid the projected crowds at the other parks. Since AK will close at 5, we were planning on hopping to Epcot to spend the rest of the evening and then catch Illuminations.

We figured that with F&W and the holiday weekend, the WS will be insane with crowds. Will the WS be too crowded to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere in the evening (i.e. wall to wall crowds)?

Will there be anywhere to sit for Illuminations? What with all the extra food booths set up and the crowd levels, is it likely that we would be able to get a seat on the ground somewhere with a decent view an hour before it starts?

Thanks!

I would be interested in this answer also.

Thanks in Advance:banana:

87 days! I can't stand the wait, I think I'm worse than my ds! A little bumbed that our week is blacked out for free dining and no discount at this point either, but I am SO pumped to go back and share the experience with my ds. I haven't been since 1995!

DH and I will be at POR from 10/15-10/23 for our annual anniversary trip and we are starting to get a little stir crazy - the waiting is the worst part! We both love POR - it has become our "home" resort.

Hope to see plenty of DISers down there - we will be hitting F&W at least 2x during our stay.

Cannot wait!

It'll be me, my sis, and my 19 month old niece. We're staying at the Coronado Springs Resort, water view (no standard left ).

It's our first time at CSR. We're really excited. We were going to go the week before, but of course they blacked out that week. :headache: Boy am I glad we didn't buy our airfare yet. I got a great deal on airfare, jumped on it, and then a few days later made our reservations for Disney. :wizard:

Now it's the waiting game! :cheer2:

And I cannot recall if I replied - - - I'm sure some mothers can relate. But DD and I will be there Oct. 2 - 9 at the CBR. Really starting to spend a lot of time on here these days (lurking)!:)
