*** Official November 2018 Thread - It's Turkey Lurkey Time! ***

If you are talking the hard plastic ones with pictures of characters, I think you only get those if you book a package.
Ok, thank you, that makes sense. We don't have a package booked. I guess I will take one off the old luggage and mail it to her. She is special needs and won't understand. Thanks!

Akershus. First time. "Thankful" it is one of the locations that will have traditional (turkey and dressing) just in case "Taste of Norway" isn't everyone's favorite.
I am excited to hear what you think of “Taste of Norway”... I am from Norway but we have actually never been eating at Akershus. I think I am a bit afraid to try and I can eat Norwegian food here.
I think the Norwegian food is very different from Us food, but I have heard from other Norwegians that they didn’t like the food at Akershus so we would rather eat American food when I am in USA

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here, but DH and I am eating at Liberty Tree Tavern before the Christmas party and I understand they serve typically Thanksgiving food there?

No, the identification tags that corresponds with the magic bands. They have images of the characters on them. They must not give those out anymore. My youngest DD finally has her own suitcase and was excited to put it on her suitcase.

When we got ours last week there were several sections in the box. On each side there was a flap on each side of the MBs and on one was the luggage tags and the other was the card for the coupons. The holders for the luggage tags are in the same box as the bands you have to pull it out and open it up.

I was in crazy organizing mode today but it didn’t last long. I think I’m in burnt out & over it mode. I’m most likely going to need to take Friday off so I can get everything done. DH is working a different schedule this week & it’s going to make it hard for me to do things. I didn’t think about that aspect of it until today. Oh well. Everything will get done.

Magic Bands arrived today! 24 days! Time to organize all my lists. I start out with one very long list when the trip is months away, but when it gets closer, I feel like I have to separate it into categories and I end up with around 8-10 separate lists! I am a list-making fool!

I’d love to see these lists. I started mine yesterday and I didn’t have a whole heck of a lot to put on it. The weather should be nice so I feel like I need to pack minimal warm clothes. And since we will be in the parks start to finish, what else other than clothes do I need?? This is our first trip and now you have me worried I’m forgetting a whole lot!

Is anyone going to see the Space X launch on the 27th? That just happens to be our bonus day that we got when our flight was cancelled and we moved it a day earlier. We aren’t going to a park and were going to have a resort day. But then I found out there’s a space x launch and that seems so neat to see. However, it’s crazy expensive! It would end up being $100 a person (5 of us!) to see it up close or $50pp to see it from the space center but not at the launch viewing areas. I’m wondering if there are good free spots to see the launch from that would make it worth renting a car and giving up our bonus resort day?

I keep a folder in the backpack with a printout of all ADRs and FPs plus other things. We also keep in there extra batteries and a few memory cards for the camera and phone charger cords plus sunblock. We usually keep ponchos and long pants and long sleeve shirts in case it gets chilly at night and depending on the weather we see before we go might even have gloves and scarves. Not to get too TMI but we find after being in the parks sweating all day and the toilet paper different than what we are used to we tend to get sore down there so we always have an extra pair of undies and Desitin.

Has it just been delayed? I don't see it on the list I usually follow https://spaceflightnow.com/launch-schedule/ If it is on the 27th, keep in mind the launches are frequently changed. Like I'd bet a 5% chance it would actually still happen on the 27th. There's one on my last day (14th) and I"m sure it will be delayed too.

Wow.. only 6 more nights until we are on way to WDW.
I am so excited because it will be our first time visiting WDW during Christmas season.
It will be only DH and I on this trip and we have so many fun things planned.
Got all the ADR’s I wanted, but I am a bit worried about our breakfast at AK (Tusker House) on November 4 (our first day)

I understand that it is marathon going on that morning? We have an early ADR’s 8.25 a.m that morning and I am a bit worried about what would happen if it would be a lot of people running and we would be late for our breakfast?

I injured my leg about 8 weeks ago and I am still on crutches. I am going to rent a wheelchair just in case, but I can “walk» with my crutches. But I don’t walk very fast

Would you keep the ADR’s?
We are staying at Pop, but I am thinking maybe taking Uber to AK that morning?

I also understand that we are going to set the clock back? (We have done that this weekend here in Norway)

I am going to upgrade my tickets to AP, plus I have to ask for a DAS (not because of my leg, but other challenges like PTSD and other things)
So I will need some time to do that.

I feel like I am stressing a bit with all my plans, second guessing everything etc.
Maybe it is because I got a really bad cold and haven’t had much strength to do anything since Thursday

And I know it will be a busy week before we go.

I am looking forward to some warmer weather though. Here in Norway it has been very cold (around- 5 Celsius)

We tried to watch it once and the launch was pushed back due to weather and then we tried to watch it again and it was cancelled again due to weather. I think it launched 2 days later.

Tomorrow marks 10 days for us! Still can't believe this trip is finally happening. Years of hoping and wishing. So excited to finally be back after 20 years, this time with my favorite person in the world. Is it weird to cry when seeing the castle, because I just might!

Nope! I definitely teared up the first time I saw the castle and then I cry every time I see it for the first time and look at the castle for the last time of the trip. It symbolizes so much happiness and magic! I’m so excited to see it again and to watch my grandma see it for the very first time! I’ll probably shed lots of tears!

I tear up at a lot of things when I am there and our trips are a few years apart.

We’re 30 days out from my first trip to WDW. I am 35 years old and am quite sure I will cry happy tears A LOT. I teared up yesterday while watching the “Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic” on Demand lol!

We surprised the kids today and man were they excited. My 5 year old daughter absolutely exploded with tears. Through sobs and sniffs she kept saying “it’s happy tears, it’s happy tears!” My 7 year old son was bouncing off the walls. He ran right upstairs to find his hidden mickey book and then the two of them were looking through it for a while. 9 more days!!!
