***Official November 2014 thread***

I think we're going to wait and pay off the whole balance close to the due date. Someone said it was smarter to let the money sit in the bank and earn interest on the money, so that's what I'm going to do. And I don't know if the US website is the same, but on the UK one, you only have the option of paying the whole balance at once. So if I wanted to pay in instalments, I would have to phone them every time I wanted to pay parts of it.
Wow, all you need to book your package on the US website is a U$200 deposit. I love it that way. I can pay how little or how much I want. Interests are so small for a short time investment here in Brazil that I rather make monthly payments and see my balance go down little by little.

Just 5 more days till we can book it! :dance3:

We are headed to WDW November 11th-24th 2014. We did November in 2011 and May in 2013 and I can say without a doubt November is MUCH better than May!

The countdown is on! Planning November 21-27 2014. Need suggestions on where to stay. Cast will include the people in my signature in addition to my parents and DH parents as well. Any suggestions from those who have traveled in large groups before??? We've been as a couple, with our 3 children, and with small school groups, but never with our parents! Puts a slight kink in my planning because I don't want to completely wear them out!! They'll probably just have to meet us a lot::yes::

We're planning on going November 7th for the Wine & Dine Half marathon and MVMCP!! SO excited!!!

Do you know where you're staying? I've added you to the list, so just let me know if you want to add or change anything :)

We are going nov 29-dec 5. I like pop and planning on staying there but that may change if extended family comes. Since having kids we've stayed in September and October so we've done Halloween. Christmas is my favorite holiday so I'm really excited about seeing all the decorations and the party.

I'm so excited about the christmas stuff as well. I haven't seen it in a few years now, so I can't wait to see it again. I really want to go for new years sometime too.

Yeah in UK we need a £100 deposit. And I wouldn't mind paying monthly, but I hate making phone calls, which is probably why I'd just prefer to wait until it's due anyway :P Or at least until I've saved up the money to pay for it :upsidedow

Do you want to stay on property? Or is outside WDW okay? I know some people rent villas if they go in big groups. I think that might be on the cost effective side, if you're on a budget. But I've never traveled in big groups before, so I don't know...

We could swing 3 value rooms, but would completely rely on FD, with no guarantees of it happening. Considering renting 2 campers from Moore RV and staying at FW Campsites. We've done the cabins before and loved the grounds and solitude! What type of villas are you referring to? I've also considered looking into renting DVC points to stay at BLT or something like that. Again, would really like opinions! I know we need to decide soon. On property is definitely preferred, but I might could be swayed if someone pointed me to something really great at a really great price, especially something large enough for s all 9 to be together (house or something)!

Thanks!

We are going Nov 23-28 2014. It will be my twin DSs 1st trip, they'll be 20 months. My aunt is coming along to help, plus DD (who will be 7) and DH. We are hoping to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom at BLT by renting DVC points. I've never done it and the inability to start searching until 11 months out is killing me! I don't even know if we have a good chance of it either! I know Thanksgiving is super busy and we plan on using either Dave's or DVC-central but it makes me nervous to not even know our chances.

Can you elaborate on why you like Nov better? I'm trying to decide if we are going the same time you are but arriving a week later. We've always have gone late May and loved it. How are this crowds during this time in Nov?

Hi everyone!! I'm jumping in here, but need to go back and catch up from the beginning!

My DW and I are booked for the Yacht Club from 11/6-11/10 for the W&D Half Marathon! The dates haven't been officially announced yet, but I'm going on the past two years, so hopefully it will be the same weekend! As of right now DS17 will be in his first semester of college and my other two won't be able to miss school, so for the moment it's an adult trip only. We shall see if that changes though....

Looking forward to planning with you all!

I was trying to look at rates for late November 2014, however it shows that there are no rooms available at any of the resorts I looked at. Are they not booking November 2014 packages on the website yet, or are dates already selling out. I find that a little hard to believe. Thanks!

We usually go right after Veteran's Day (avoid Jersey week and before Thanksgiving crowds) and the crowds are great, Disney all decked out for Christmas is amazing, the weather is not brutally hot but still nice and warm. We went this year May 10-17th and there were a brutal amount of school kids there as groups (we are talking elementary/middle) with very little supervision it seemed.

Hi all! I'm Laila ("Hi Laila") and I'm currently planning a probably once-in-a-longtime (lifetime?) WDW trip.

I'm an Indonesian, born raised, and living in Indonesia. Way too far from the US. I've been to Tokyo and HK DL. I've also been to DLR, but of course, my ultimate dream is to visit the mothership... The biggest Disney resort of all...

Some time last month, I casually asked DH if there's any chance for us to have a WDW family holiday. Maybe next year? Next millenium? The answer was negative. Of course. Not a surprise since DH is a non-Disney, non-themepark person. Also the cost is too much - coming from Indonesia - and our son is too little (he's currently 11 mos) to make the trip worth it.

On the upside, my husband understands how much I love Disney, so after some talks, he agreed that I should do a solo trip. Ohmagahd. But then something better happened - my bestfriend agreed to come with me. It's gonna be a girls trip. Aaaaah!

So, currently, we're on the very early stage of planning. Our initial dates was in September 2014, as our priorities are low rates and (relatively) low crowds, but we're big wusses regarding hurricanes, so then we changed it to 11 - 21 Nov 2014.

Coming from such faraway country and on a tight budget, we sure have megaloads of homework to do. Wish us luck! First things first: visa. Hello, US embassy. Sigh.

WDW's website is sometimes glitchy, and it sometimes does that (saying there's no availability). They're usually updating something. It'll be OK in a few days, tho, no worries...

Welcome to this group to everyone who's just joined :welcome: The list has been updated :goodvibes Now let the countdown begin.

I hate to admit that I'm more excited to count down to my Disneymoon than the actual wedding. Might have something to do with the fact that we can't arrange any wedding stuff until 4 months out

On the positive side, we've done a lot of saving, so I think we might just pay off our balance in just over a week

We are planning to go November 20 - December 1, 2014. We have been going Thanksgiving week since 2008. It is so crowded, but it is the only time we can find when we are both off of work an our 5 kids are out of school.

WDW-A-RAMA:

Nov 2014 will be our first Thanksgiving trip. Can you give me advice? In only need to miss 3 days of school (I teach). It will help the kids, too, to not be out any more than that! We get out the W, Th, and F of thanksgiving week. My plans were to take off the Friday before, allowing us to leave Thursday evening before thanksgiving. We would spend Saturday-Wednesday in the parks and start the drive home on thanksgiving day. I had secretly hoped that this would allow us to miss the worst of the crowds. After reading the boards, should I reconsider and take off the 3 days after thanksgiving instead??? In short, which is less crowded, the few days before thanksgiving or the few days after?

Hello! I see some familiar faces! Hi Lucy! We just came back from a Feb trip and have been trying to figure out how to get back to the world. Fast forward to May and our home was hit by the OK tornado. We need our happy place more than ever. Our friends are going either End of Oct or Nov so we are following along. Only problem (which isn't a huge problem) is that I have to wait to book until next year. I am applying to dental hygiene school in December and won't find out if I get in until next May. If I get in, we may have to either take a very short trip or wait until I get out. We shall see!

So last time I updated the list, it seems like I forgot to hit save :headache: Time to do it again
