***Official November 2013***

We are going 11/8--11/17 and staying at the Polynesian. It will be our first time at the Poly, and I'm very excited.
Ooooh....the Poly! I've always wanted to stay there and we narrowed this trip down to the Poly or OKW, but we liked having the full kitchen better. I'll make sure you're added to the first post.

Oh....and :welcome:

Hello everyone!

Figmentchick, would you kindly add SSR to my name on the first page when you have a minute? Thank you!
Absolutely!!!

Hoping someone can help, we booked in January and have made several payments for our November trip....we booked with a TA, we've used before. This trip is with four families. One familiy lives far away and was in town for a visit so we were doing planning that is when I realized my older childrens ages are wrong.

They are on our reservation as 9/7 and should be 10/8. I contacted that TA and she said she'd make the correction and there would be a price increase because ds is a junior not a child. No problem, I completely understand.

My question, which just occured to me this am is will this change effect the price we pay for all of our tickets since the ticket price increase took effect between booking and the error.

I am trying not to completely freak out since hopefully we'll be able to apply free dining and the ticket increase will be ate in the discount....

Also, wow I need to stop thinking...if a RO discount comes out and we apply that to our trip do we have to pay the ticket price increase? I know we will with free dining
She should just be able to make the adjustment and you should only have to pay for the increase of your one child. There is absolutely NO REASON to cancel and rebook the entire vacation with the new prices. If she does....she's an idiot. When I booked, they had my kids' ages wrong as well (they had them their ages on the trip two years ago). I just called and their ages were adjusted. It's not a big issue. And your price difference shouldn't be that much.

Hope this helps calm you a bit.

Honestly, from what I'm hearing lately, I am so glad that I don't use a TA.

Im starting to think we are just not meant to go to Disney this year:( we have had so many issues so far. the cherry on top, had a dentist appointment this AM was told I need several root canals $1,000 a piece!
Holly, I'm so sorry! We've had a couple of issues, too....but I was lucky enough to tuck some money away earlier in the year. I hope it all works out and that you can still fit in the trip.

I hope things work out for you so you can go...I have a situation at my home...my DH is not the least bit excited about going:confused3 He just does not get the "magic"

We will be staying November 11 - 20. Most likely at WL but still waiting for discount codes to make final plans.

Okay Dis Friends, I need your help. I have asked this question before but in a different way. I was going to surprise my 2 daughters and my sister (age 9) before we left for the trip but we are leaving at 2 am so I want them to get some sleep. :cool1: We are driving from Virginia to Florida, Myself,, my 2 daughters, and my sister. :scared: I want to surprise them when we get there. How can I pull this off and how would you tell your children. I have all girls ages are 5,7,9. Help me out on this :thumbsup2 TIA!!!

Being that your driving why don't you try a scavenger hunt trip...the first clue would be telling them they need to be packed and ready to go at 2am (but of course wording it differently) U can add a cd to play in the car when your closer with Disney music with a clue on the cd top...when you stop for gas you can ask someone or pretend someone gave u the next clue at the gas station to another clue or hint..... Have u ever watched the amazing race? Think along those lines..... :happytv:popcorn::

That is an awesome idea, now only if I can think of clues :confused3 lol

Lol... That's always the hard part... How bout mailing urself a map of the drive u have to take, or just an anonymous letter address it to the girls and start off with something like
.. We wished upon a star and to get there we need to take the car... An adventure awaits for the 3 of you but to get there we have to awake at 2" lol....
If I think of anything else I will let u know!

This is great, I love it!!

This is totally off topic :offtopic: but is Rose and CRown for kids also, we want a good view of illuminations.
Most definitely!! I took my kids back when they were 8 & 6, and am lookin g forward to dining there this year now that they are 21 & 19. Kids are no problem at all.

We'll be there in 114 days!

11/11 -- AOP
11/12-21 - POR

I'm so excited -- but a little disappointed as our oldest won't be joining us for this trip. DH keeps telling me, "Honey, he's a grown man now and has a job. This is what we wanted to happen." But, the mommy in me still wants all my kiddos -- 25-10 -- with me at Disney! Guess I'll just have to plan another trip when he can go::yes::

119 long days. Is there a reason November is taking its sweet time to come. Jeesh.

I know what your feeling, In 1997 I planned a family trip DS28 told me he couldn't go so we made the best of it and DS18 brought along a friend to pal around with.

102 days for us! Almost double digits!
10/31 - 11/11 at Fort Wilderness cabins
This trip will be me (celebrating 60th birthday and retiring this year), my son-in-law, my daughter (birthday on Halloween), and my grandson Grayson (age 3 and first trip)
My son-in-law is concerned that Grayson is not tall enough for all rides.... I hope once he gets there he will see how magical it still is. I have been with all my other grandchildren starting at age 1 and it's always been grest.

We will be staying November 11 - 20. Most likely at WL but still waiting for discount codes to make final plans.
:welcome: I have a discount, but I'm waiting to see if it will increase or if I can squeeze in dining, too.

As someone else said, yes...they have kids meals! I think it's a great location. Although we have never eaten there, I've always wanted to, but we check menus before we decide and my family just didn't like what was offered. Allearsnet has all the menus for the resorts and parks on their website; I suggest checking that to make sure they have something the kiddos will like.

Nov. 23-Dec. 1, going to OKW with the family for Thanksgiving:cool1:
:welcome: we're staying at OKW as well. It's our first time staying there, but we are so excited! I am sure we will enjoy the kitchen.

:welcome: I so understand the dilemma....my daughter enters high school this fall. This will be the last trip for awhile unless I take just my now five-year-old with me. But that could be fun, too!

:welcome: Awesome! You'll be there at the same time we are! I took my youngest when he was 18 months old and three years old. Just because they are not tall enough for some rides does not mean he won't enjoy the trip. The character interaction will be there as well as lots and lots of rides. And if your son in law wants to ride the thrill rides - grandmom can sit with the baby! :) Have a great trip!!!

I may be switching my dates from Thanksgiving week to the week before Christmas in light of the free dining "rumors", we will make our decision Aug. 1st when we see what's available. I didn't want to take our girls out of school (they ate going to 2nd & 4th grade) which is why we were going for Thanksgiving but I know they typically have a lax week the week before Christmas vacation. I think I will just mention it to the teachers in August when we meet them & see what they say. The perks of going before Christmas are just too good to pass up right now, FD, MVMCP (this isn't available for the week we are currently booked), less crowds....just when I thought everything was finalized!! Anyone else out there that might be switching?
