OFFICIAL New Animal Kingdom Experiences UPDATE 5/28: Reports from first night in Post #2

Hi all. Was able to get TH Breakfast and Tiffins dinner packages (different days and with different people). When I check all my dining reservations on my phone they are coming up as reservations, does not specify they are the package (and I know they are). How are everyone's coming up?

I see the same thing. If I check MDE website on my computer it shows as beng package but on the app it just says Tusker House breakfast, no mention of package. I'll likely bring printout of page to be safe.

I posted this on the restaurant forums but seems like it would fit here.

Wondering how are people feeling about the dinner seating location? It is in the Dinoland area and is with standby. That does not seem like a premium location but I guess we really don't know yet. We might cancel the reservation if we can get fast passes 60 days out. Glad we have guaranteed fastpass for now.

Are there any reviews from previews from that section?

I think we will have to wait and see the final setup. My *guess* is that the section on the Dinoland side that is closest to the center will be for dining packages so they get the best view, but who knows. You'd think they'd have to separate it some how from the standby folks

Don't freak out about incorrect times just yet. It looks like everything is showing three hours early. I got an 8:05 am breakfast package at Tusker House for 8 people on June 5. Last time I could access MDE before the system went down, it was showing my reservation time as 5:05 am! I'll get up early for pre-park opening but not that early. LOL:scared:

Thought it was bad at 7AM, but once everyone else woke up - virtually the whole system is down now! :sad2:

Does anyone think the breakfast at TH and lunch/dinner at Tiffins are going to be first show seating? I don't know if Tiffins is serving breakfast, but this could be Disney saying spend all day at AK or pay more money to have the premium first show. Then maybe TH lunch/dinner might be the second show because of the cheaper price? Just a thought I had.

We booked TH breakfast and we were given first show. There was not an option to choose. \\

Why would price though dictate which show you would see when it came to the dinner packages. They are both the same show yes?

I would think perhaps it would be because they figured you would want to leave sooner as you had been there since morning?

I only had this thought based on how Disney has been trying to do tiered pricing. I thought of this to because of you go to the early show, you have a better chance to explorer the rest of the nighttime entertainment instead of standing in line for the 2nd show.

We have FP+ for the first show on May 28th, not sure if we'll keep them yet. Do we know much about this show yet? And where might the FP+ seating be?

fp seating is on the Expedition Everest side. The show lasts 20 minutes. It's water projection, with live performers on barges. There's a description on the site

We have passes for the 900 show on the 28th !!!
Do you think we will have any problems getting in later that day (not sure I want to spend the entire day there)

I booked a breakfast at Tusker House (for now) for June 11th. I don't like this. I wanted to change my dinner reservation at Tusker House to the dinner package for Jungle Book, and after 45 minutes of waiting on the phone, "I don't know why, but lunch and dinner options aren't showing up for that day." Waking up at 6 for nothing so far other than getting my fastpasses for Soarin' and Frozen!!!

Were there FEA FP's for the first week of June?!

So my trip isn't until December but I'm just trying to keep up with you guys so I can get plans finalized and I can make my reservations for dining 180+ or just whenever Disney decides to put up those dates for hopefully ROL... The goal is to get TH dining package for lunch but now that it's the same price as dinner maybe I'll be looking at dinner times if I can make it work

But I've seen discussion about whether TH is booked solid for the days you're looking for I didn't check every date but I did check a few and if you are making a non JB package if seems there is no problem with looking for a reservation in the lunch/dinner time. It is very likely that they just haven't opened that part up yet... I believe they said this would be available so if I were to have to book reservations today I would do so for the latest possible breakfast and then keep an eye out for lunch/dinner dining packages because I'm sure they will become available... Maybe they just want to pressure people into booking Tiffins for the first couple of days then when the reservations stop coming in so rapidly they'll open up TH... I'm not sure wish you all luck all this is causing me stress... I live in California so my usual stomping grounds are Disneyland and California Adventures never had to do nearly as much planing for them....

Just saw a 10:50 TH breakfast package time pop up for 6/19 so we grabbed it and dumped the 8:00 breakfast (still with the first showing of JB). Since lunch starts at 11:00 I think we're good for the moment.... still would prefer a later lunch time, but as someone else recently posted - perhaps they are holding those back for the 2nd JB show???

Can someone order an appetizer only from Tiffins and still get the show package, or must they order an entree?

It's a packaged meal. Here's what it includes
  • Lunch or Dinner: $67 for adults and $32 for children 9 years of age and younger (tax and gratuity not included)
  • Includes your choice of appetizer, entrée, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage
  • Disney Dining Plan eligible
Please note that while Tiffins is available for lunch and dinner with this dinner package, you must dine at this location no later than 2-and-a-half hours prior to your designated performance time.

This is what the site says:
  • Plan to arrive for The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic seating 15-to-35 minutes prior to show time. Please use the theater entrance located closest to DinoLand U.S.A. Your seats are not assigned. Rather, you choose your seats within the reserved section on a first-come, first-served basis.

The site states this for the show time:
  • The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic Dining Package is available on all The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic show days. There may be multiple shows on the same day and your dining reservation will indicate which show you are booked for.
