We are planning on going Oct 28 - we were going to take our costumes for DH as Cpt. Hook, DS1 as Peter Pan, DD4 as Wendy and my Snow White costume. I was just reading that female adult guests can be asked to leave because of looking too much like the princesses for the party. Is this true? I do look quite a bit like Snow White - should I not take my costume? Thanks in advance!

I think you should go as Tinkerbell! It would be cute for all you family to have the same theme!:tinker: :tink:

We are going on 2 nights -- 9/30 and 10/4. I am struggling with the costume ideas. I just keep thinking that it will be so hot that the kids (DD7, DS4, DS2) will want to wear a costume, but will tear it off after an hour or so in the heat.

RafikiDancer (Karen) and I will be there the night of October 21st. This is our first MNSSHP and our first girls-only trip to WDW. We are going with the Safari Mickey theme. Karen has all her costume ready, I'm still putting mine together. Good thing I bought that safari backpack on sale at Animal Kingdom Lodge last year! :yay:
We'll be stay at Pop and will probably run into some of you. Hope to see everyone at the Party!!

When we went last year, it was hot. Too hot to be wearing much of a complicated costume at all, especially for us, as we are apt to run around like crazy people trying to do lots of rides, for the first few hours at least. Luckily I had convinced my kids to go light on the costumes - they wore grass skirts, and we all wore leis. This year I think we'll ditch the skirts, too. That said, it is a lot of fun to be in costume, and to see everyone else's too. Funny hats are a good idea... but look out for them on the rides! My father in law just wore an orange shirt that said "this is my Halloween costume." Something for everyone!

Yes it was quite warm during last years MNSSHP, so this year my garb will be...2006 MNSSHP shirt, a pair of shorts & my Disney POTC Crocs. As I search for candy, great ride experiences & just enjoy all the Hallomagic.

We were there the second week of October - I think it was low 90's during the day, cooling off to 80's in the evening. Not too hot to have lots of fun, though!

AmberI, I do so hope that things work out for you and your family and you get the perfect Disney vacation.

If I had tickets for the 21st I would give them to you if you needed them. I am a former Red Cross girl (Vietnam War era) and ardent supporter of our troops.

How you enjoying being temporary 'Tarheels"? I am assuming you are near Ft. Bragg but could be wrong. I often am. :rotfl2:

Maybe we will meet at the Halloween Party. Just look up at the RR station and look for a smiling woman in lime green.

Slightly Goofy

Is it really true that the adults can't dress up as disney characters? I planned on being Cinderella and I'm a petite blonde girl but I don't think I look like Cinderella since I'm over 30. Does anyone who has been to MNSSHP before think that will be a problem? My kids are being Peter Pan and Tinkerbelle. Thanks

I want your opinions -

Which do you think would be best for less crowds, SUNDAY October 14th or TUESDAY, October 16th?

The polls on here show the 16th as being more popular, but I want to hear from someone who has maybe been there around this time and knows the crowd level.

Also - is the party any less on a weeknight or do they do it up big every single night they have it?

I know it's called Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, but, really, is it too scary for little kids? We will have a 3 y/o with us and were wondering if it'll scare her.

No, it's not scary at all, IMHO. Maybe the fireworks as with any fireworks. Maybe if you get close to the villian show and they come down for the meet and greet.

That is all I can think of. :confused3

For those of you that have been before I have 2 questions:
1. How long has it taken you to get through the Adventureland and the Alice in Wonderland Trick-or-Treating Trails? What is the shortest amount of time it took you and what is the longest?
2. How long do the dance parties last? I know they are held every hour on the hour, but do they last about 30 minutes and then take a break until the next party?
I am trying to put together a touring plan so that we get to do everything we want (it seems like 5 hours is not enough time!). Here is what I have so far. If I have 2 times it is because 1 is from 2005 and 1 is from last year so who knows what it will be this year :)
7:00 The Adventureland trick-or-treating trail
Head over to Haunted Mansion
8:00 Ariel's dance partyin Fantasyland
8:30 get a viewing spot for villains show
9:00 Villains show
9:15/9:30 watch fireworks from same spot
10:00/10:30 watch parade (might move down by tomorrowland bridge to watch)
Go to Alice in Wonderland trick-or-treat trail
Head home

Please let me know what you think of this and if you have a tried-and-true plan I'd love to hear it! Thanks so much!:goodvibes

I forgot to mention that we will be there 9/14. We're going as DD5 Alice, DD7 Cheshire cat, Me- white rabbit, DH- Mad Hatter. Can't wait!

PhotoPass Question...

If you plan on buying a PhotoPass CD w/ pics from your entire trip, can you add the MNSSHP pics onto it, too? Can you just have the photographers scan your card as usual? I know you won't be able to take advantage of the 50% off party special, but if I can just add all the Halloween party pics to a CD, that would be ideal! :thumbsup2 Thanks!

pick all your pictures and then add the discount and get it. You cannot go back later.

It is NOT good for the CD purchase.

This is according to information I gathered and put on first page. No first hand experience. They may change it this year, who knows?...we'll see soon.

Trish

Could you please add us to the list!!! We are going 9/14...our first one!!:cool1:

We are going on the 16th, so the 14th will be better j/k ,it will be less crowded because you wont have the local crowd you would tend to get on the Sunday.
