****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Question of the Day:

Tell us about a magical moment you had at the world… it can be anything from free dessert to a night in the castle!

We had one trip where it seemed my DD was hit with magical moments all over the place! She was 4 at the time. Two that I remember from that trip are:

1)She got picked to help teach everyone the hand jive at Festival of the Lion King. She's a very shy person, so I was amazed that she would have been chosen AND actually agree to it.

2)A couple nights later, we were having dinner at Rose & Crown when our server came up to her and asked her if she'd like to start the fireworks that night. She loves IllumiNations, so she jumped on that. The server took her down to the lower patio, gave her one of the big light-up Mickey sabers, and showed her to move it in a circle to the drum beats and then shoot it out to start the fireworks. She didn't stop beaming and she still talks about it!! She received a certificate signed by all the CMs at Rose & Crown that night.

Of course, one of the reasons we keep going back to WDW is because there is always something magical that happens. It's nice that out of the millions of people who go there each year, they are able to make one little person feel like they are special.

Wow! Some people already got Mickey Mail! :o I wonder if I'll be seeing mine, soon.

Usually when you watch a Disney commercial, you see some random (very happy) kids running up to one of the characters and hugging them, on that bridge in front of Cinderella's castle. Anyone who has gone before knows that's not likely, since the characters usually have a good-sized line in front of them. :rotfl: WELL, I'm here to tell you, that can actually happen!

Last time I went to Disney, my friend and I kept trying to find out where Pluto was. We kept just missing him, or forgetting to go because a ride distracted us... On the last day we were there, as we were leaving the park at the end of the night, we spotted Pluto and a CM coming across the Cinderella bridge, all by themselves. My friend and I bolted towards them, yelling "PLUTO! WE FOUND YOU!" Pluto saw us, and started running at us with his arms open, too. He gave us an autograph, picture, and all that good stuff. It was an awesome final "moment" in the parks, before we had to leave for the final time. :)

omg, theres been so many- probably the best for us was in MK during the Year of a Million Dreams when we were randomly given special FP's for all of the Mtns and a few other rides in FL. However we were pretty much done w/ touring for the day and pretty exhausted w/ 3 little kids in tow. So as we left we saw a family coming in with their kids and we handed them the FP's with only 2 of them used by us. You would have thought we gave these people a million bucks. The looks on their faces were priceless and it made my kids feel pretty good knowing we made another family so happy. That was pretty cool!:)

On our first trip (the first day at MK) the kids were given a handful of pixi dust from one of the CM's. We saved it and brought it home with us :)

On our second trip DS got picked by Jack Sparrow to go up on stage & he got chosen to dance the Hokey Pokey in Frontierland.

On our HS day, we were the only ones riding the bus that morning so we had our own private bus then when we arrived they said that the giant Christmas tree had just been put up the night before. We had an early breakfast at Hollywood & Vine that morning and we were "Family of the Day" and first ones to got to go up to the buffet.

On our last full day in MK we got to see One Republic filming their "Good Life" music video so everytime we see that video, we can say we were there on THAT day.

okay, wow. Can you mail me a bit of that pixie dust b/c it has apparently brought you a lot of good luck! :)

Our first trip as a married couple, we got comp upgraded at the Contemporary to a Magic Kingdom view, Concierge floor. It was great!!! I love comp upgrades lol.

When we have been with kids.... I think everything is magical but we've had the most memorable 'magic moments' on the cruise.... once when Minnie got in the elevator with us, and only us, for about six floors. I had one daughter who was 18 months at the time literally twitching/shaking with excitment and the other DD who was 5 at the time was so happy I thought she would burst. Then on our last cruise, we had the funnest interaction time with CHip and Dale. DD3 got swallowed up in a huge hug by chip and then he scooped her up and rocked her like a baby for the rest of the time. (She's kind of a munchkin...hence why she is now four and we're still measuring everyday hoping for the 40" mark!). Character interactions just rock!

I'm sure we've had some big magical moment at WDW.... but can't for the life of me think of something that stands out! I think the entire time is magical!

We went to Epcot & MK one day each in Sep '09 when DD4 was 19months.

At Epcot, we came across Donald Duck and I thought she was going to flip, but she walked right up to him and hugged him. The hug was so long, I was trying to get her to let go, but Donald put his finger up at me as if saying "give us our moment". :lmao: Everyone around us was laughing.

At Monsters Inc, she was highlighted as "Boo".

I remember when I was younger I got to drive the jungle cruise boat and I thought that was the coolest things ever. I was soo excited.

Our trip back in January had a magical moment that we got to watch. We were waiting in line to take a picture with sorcerer Mickey and the girl before us (in her teens I would say) had a severe handicap and was unable to talk. She was in a wheelchair, but got out if it when going up to Mickey. This girl lit up when Mickey hugged her, she was beyond elated. He spent a good chunk of time with her, which was so nice to see. When they were done, Mickey helped her back into her wheelchair and gave her a big hug and she did not want to let go. He gave her a big ol' kiss on the head and she waved her entire way out of the area. It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen. :goodvibes

AWE!!! All these stories are giving me the warm fuzzies :thumbsup2

Our magical moment was our MK day during the year of a million dreams and we got dream fast passes!!!

b/c of the research I had done I knew as SOON as we walked off Splash and saw them standing there waving people over to the side that we were in for a dream. i was SO excited i could have jumped out of my socks!!! Except i don't think i had any on. LOL.

We got to throw our touring plan out the window and go where we wanted when we wanted after that. it was SSOOO great!!!

My little girl, now 8 was 3, and I was pregnant with my second, who will be having breakfast with Cinderalla for her 5th birthday next month...

We were waiting on main street for "Wishes" to start, and some shop girls asked my daughter if she would like to help them dress the Cinderella Mannequin (this dress or that, which shoes, which crown?) At the end, she said "Bibity Bobity Boo" and they threw pixie dust, and she got a free "magic wand" and a certificate that said "Apprentice Fairy Godmother."

That's what people sometimes say about me, (I admit it, I'm a meddler), and being pregnant and hearing that said about her, I totally cried. :)

I have soooooo many. I may just share them all. The one that just popped into my head is great though!

We went in February of 2010. It was the week before Presidents Day and Mardi Gras. Our MK day also happened to be on the same day as the Princess Half Marathon. It really affected morning traffic and there were notices in our rooms to allow an extra hour of travel time on top of regular travel time :scared1:

Touring Plans recommended that day at MK though so off we went. It was EMPTY. I mean.. empty.
We rode Splash twice in a row with no wait, then over to BTTMR with no wait. They let us stay in our spot and sent us around a second time. But the very best part?? We then went to Haunted Mansion. We were the only people in the Stretching Room, the only people to get in a Doom Buggy. It was my husband, my son and I, and the cast members!

While we were in the stretching room I said to hubby that this would probably never happen again in our life. It's always busy. It was a really neat experience to be the only people on HM!

Hi! :wave2: We will be at POFQ 5/1-5/9 but plan on going over to POR for some pool time. Usually oldest DD and I make the trip solo but this time we are dragging daddy with us and taking the baby on her first trip.

But I'm sure DD4 would love to play with someone her own age. :goodvibes Hopefully we will see you around!

Tell us about a magical moment you had at the world… it can be anything from free dessert to a night in the castle!

In 1994, we were going to celebrate our 10th anniversary (and first trip w/o kids) with a quick weekend to Disney. We had a 1 day ticket left over from a family trip and the Tower of Terror was opening. His parents gave us airfare, and we booked CBR from Thur-Sun. We flew in (it was pouring rain), and planned on hitting MGM first thing Friday am.
Got to the park, and a huge sign greeted us in front of ticketing. "We're sorry, but TOT is closed." I couldn't believe it. First trip without kids, was to be like a second honeymoon, since our first wasn't so grand, raining on and off, and only had a one day ticket.
Without us knowing, a very observant cm saw us talking and walked up. She asked if anything was the matter (we were contemplating what to do), and we told her. We only had the one day (the next day we were just going to enjoy CBR)and we'd come for TOT. She smiled, and asked "Where are you staying? What Anniversary is it? And when do you leave?" And then said, hold on, I'll be right back. When she returned, she said "TOT will reopen tomorrow, but on behalf of Disney, we'd like you to visit any other park for today, and come back here tomorrow." We were FLOORED! 2 tickets to any other park! And when we got back to our room for the evening, Mickey and Minnie had signed us a "Happy 10th Anniversary" card on our dresser.
It truly made it a trip to remember.pixiedust:
