****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

We usually don't pack any jeans or jackets. I am the coldest person in our family and I sometimes pack a sweater, but that is it.

You might need a sweater at night, but after a hot day at the parks, the cool feels pretty good.

We actually have quite a bit going on between now and the end of May.

Easter this weekend, massive garage cleanout next weekend (Clean House style...EVERYTHING out, then getting rid of 80%+) :scared1:, Norman Music Fest (weekend long concert fest) after that. And that's April gone!! We're having DS's bday party in May (his bday is in June) so his school friends are still in town, then end of school things, last day of school, then our trip!! So ready!!! Of course, I have costumes and customs to make, so I'm hoping it slows just a teensy bit. ;)

Does anyone else try to come up with all kinds of things to keep busy until the trip? I have decided to start my spring cleaning LOL! That should keep me pretty busy all month! :rotfl:

I won't have to work too hard at keeping busy with Easter coming up. Lots of family and friend dinners and making food and then school break which dd and I are going to use to get her science fair project ready so it's ready to go before our trip. On top of that I have my pre trip report which I still have a lot to add to so I'll be one busy gal for the next 24 days til my trip :)

Anyone started packing yet? Ordinarily I would already be packed, except for the last minute stuff. We are headed to NH for 5 days next week, so I can't really start until we get back.

I still have one box in the living room which is overflowing now. LOL The suitcases are in the house but we just don't have a lot of room to have them sitting out - otherwise they would be out for sure already. LOL

I packed everything I could this weekend while grandma had the kids. She brought them back today and took us out for Chinese... her fortune said "You will travel on an airplane to somewhere fun!" Seriously!? lol... Too funny.

I also have to look forward to... my dad bought a '56 Ford off of Ebay 2 weeks ago and it's supposed to be delivered next Tuesday. I can't wait for him to have an old car back. I'm looking forward to car shows this summer. He sold his other car a few years back and I just knew he was never going to be happy. Now he's getting his dream car

Looks like everyone has enough stuff to keep our minds ocupied for our upcoming trips! I know this time is going to fly by! My dd knows we are leaving in May she just doesnt know when :rolleyes1

Are there many of you doing suprise trips?

We are surprising our daughters. I plan on waking them up that morning and telling them as we are on our way to the airport. I just hope it doesnt backfire on me because one of my dd's is not a morning person:eek:

26 more days til I am there!!!:yay:

I've gotta be honest, I can't keep my head straight on who is going when and where, etc..... it appears we will be there at the same time! :)

We are surprising our DD8 and DD4...also not telling them until that morning when we get up to go get on the plane. You can read the details in my PTR linked in my signature! I'm so excited!!

I willl have to go and check your ptr out:goodvibes
We arrive on the 28th of April and leave May 6th. I still have sooo much to get done before we leave...yikes :)

So excited I had to post here!!! My lovely man and I are going from May 3rd to 17th :woohoo:

We had been booked since last Summer to stay at the Beach Club on DxDP for those dates (our dream trip), but had to cancel earlier in the year after a house move and work-stuff decimated our budget :( We were so disappointed, but knew we could afford a cheaper holiday elsewhere and so all was not lost. After much searching and not quite finding anything that made us totally happy, last week we just looked at each other and said "Why don't we still go to WDW, just do it on a much lower budget?". And so, after finding a bargain, we are staying at the Buena Vista Palace right across the road from DTD, and are so excited!!

I have a lot of ADRs to cancel now though, now that we aren't on the DxDP :scared1: But hey, if we aren't eating as much we can ride more attractions

So very happy and grateful to be going back to the magic!!! :yay:

Yay for you!:banana::banana::banana:
I'm for anyone and everyone getting a trip to the World...no matter where you stay or what you do, you'll have a ball! And we are doing the QSDP this time, so no ADR's for us...but we don't care...:rotfl: We're just glad to be going! Glad for you too!:goodvibes

Are there many of you doing suprise trips?

We are!! I tried to surprise them on their first trip, but I let the cat out of the bag in January...the trip was in May! :rotfl: We're going the day after school gets out, so I think I'll be able to keep it a secret with all the end of the year stuff going on. :thumbsup2

I am so insanely excited for my trip!!!! It is the first time that my boyfriend and I are taking together, so it is doubly exciting

We hope to have the DP added today or tomorrow. So thankful that Disney is my boyfriend's client so we can afford this trip with CM discounts!:worship:

May 4th can't come soon enough (even though we won't get into the parks til the 6th)

Question of the Day:

What is your last travel day plan? What recommendations do you have for those who are leaving mid-afternoon? Or even late in the evening? – Asked by an anonymous May Diser ;)

Our return flight is at 5 so ME should be picking us up around 2. We usually check our luggage in the morning and then hop a bus to Epcot. Epcot is our favorite park, so we always spend our last day there by having lunch in the World Showcase...usually fish and chips for DH and I have Tangerine Cafe. Then we pick up some goodies for the plane if we have any snack credits left.

I did a Disney Secret a couple years ago. The kids knew we were going, but they had no idea WHEN! :rotfl: It was fantastic!!

This time, my daughter knows we are going in May...but I didn not tell her the date. She is seven and beyond ready to go. She already packed her bag, bless her little heart LOL!!

I am stills o undecided on this. We are going to Chef Mickey's in the morning and then I don't know what to do. Our flight does not leave until 7 in the evening. So I'm guessing we have to be there by five. If I am not mistaken, DME will be picking us up around four or a little before then?

So.... I just don't know. I'm kind of nervous to make to make plans. I have this God awful fear of missing our flight and getting stranded in Orlando..............wait a minute...there could definitely be worse things!! :lmao:

We usually take a 10am or 1pm flight so we use that for only travel, hanging out at the resort until ME pick up time.

I am not doing a surprise for DD4 (DD1 has not clue anyway :lmao:) but her Easter basket will be filled with: Minnie dressed as easter bunny, maps I ordered from Disney site, planning video and the countdown chain I got from someone on the DIS. I'm not sure she will "get" it, but we are going to try. :goodvibes The countdown chain will be fun and hopefully will curb the incessant "when are we going?" :rotfl:

I want to think about getting there, not leaving! ;)

But in all seriousness, we have a flight at about 11am, so we have to get up, eat something at the resort, and get to the airport. Nothing fancy.

We don't have park tickets for the day we leave and our flight leaves at 2:30 pm so I think we'll probably just get packed up and get ready to leave. :( Maybe we'll have time to go to DTD or something really quick, visit a couple of resorts and walk around, or something like that, but not much. :(
