****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

WOW!!! I can't beleive we are at 66 days to go!!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:
I'm getting giddy with excitement. I think I need to pack something today!!! Even if it's something little :goodvibes

Budafam - can't wait to see the video!

Well, who knew planning for Disney would be so involved? This is first trip. I have changed our ADR's several times since I started planning. I made one more change and I *think* we have it all worked out now. We are taking a break day mid-week, planning on swimming, a little shopping at Downtown Disney, possibly mini-golf. We are staying at AKL & I have a breakfast ADR for Boma & had made an ADR for Rainforest Cafe at DD as well.

I was also trying to keep our AK day short, so we were going 10-4 and having counter service lunch & dinner at AKL. After more thought, we decided we didn't want to have a lunch ADR to get to on our break day so we decided to cancel that and make dinner at Rainforest after our AKL park day. Figure we have to eat dinner anyway.

I really hope we don't have to change anything else now...74 days to go! Can hardly wait!!!

First trip, how exciting! Those look like great plans. I've heard great things about Boma for breakfast. Will you have kids with you? Mine absolutely love Rainforest Cafe. I hope you have a great time!!

We have officially gone insane and added 2 more nights to our trip. At a different hotel, if you can believe it. So we'll be at 3 hotels this trip. BLT April 29 - May 1, Caribbean Beach May 2 - 5, then Pop May 6 - 8.

Has anyone used Garden Grocer? I am considering using them instead of stopping ourselves for groceries, to maximize park time. It's either that or run out late after 'Ohana on the first day. I'd much rather pay someone else do the work ...

FINALLY booked our flights yesterday. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. A little more expensive than anticipated, but not too much more. We were lucky to get direct flights also. We also decided the other day we're going to try to head over to the Poly to try Tonga Toast for the first time!

We finally hit double digits and I've been too busy to celebrate. I guess that's a good thing.

96 days and counting!!!!

final day of triple digits! yay!!

I'm really torn on what to do for arrival date, if we get to the CR at 3 (that's considering two hours for ME transport) should we go to DTD for a few hours? We have Ohana ADRs for 6:40pm or should we just chill out at the resort pool? I want my two kids (5 and 7) to get into the spirit without having to go to the parks for a few hours. (mind you I already had a nightmare about ditching my plans and going to MK for a few hours only to have the monorail jump tracks and we missed our dinner reservations)

Good for you! :yay:

We have 72 more days til we hit Florida soil and I have yet to book flights! :scared: This is the latest I have ever waited to book but I'm trying to wait out for lower fares on one of the airlines on which I get FF miles. Hoping it doesn't backfire on me.

We were waiting also, but it was literally killing me. All of the flights we were watching went up by at least $20 (most were more) this past weekend so we HAD to book because we can't afford any higher than that. I'll keep my fingers crossed for lower prices for you! :goodvibes

This reminds me of a question I needed to ask: My parents booked our flights for us because they have a delta skymiles card (we will be paying them back, they booked for us because our first checked bags fly free if you use a delta card). Does anyone know if we have to show the card in order to get on our flight or do we just need our tickets? Thanks

Here are the videos! I made one for each day on our last trip. It was just myself & my son. He was surprised with the trip at 3am on the day before Halloween.

October 30, 2011: flying into Orlando & MNSSHP at MK that night

October 31, 2011: Epcot during Food & Wine and my all time favorite band, Hanson playing for the Eat to the Beat concert series

November 1, 2011: Animal Kingdom Day

November 2, 2011: Hollywood Studios Day (this was the first day that the Christmas decorations were up including the giant tree!)

November 3, 2011: Magic Kingdom, our last full day.. we were one of the first ones to enter the park and One Republic was on Main Street filming their music video for the Good Life!

Hopefully this will help everyone get a little more excited!!! As if we need help, right?!!!!???!!!??!!!!!

thanks for sharing :)

Please Help fellow May Disers with these questions:

1) What are your thoughts on Garden Grocer?

2) Do you need to show your Delta Airmiles Card to get a free bag upon arrival at airport?

Thanks in advance for helping answer everyone’s questions!

Your son is absolutely adorable!! :goodvibes

Thanks for the videos! I loved watching the one of the halloween parade, we have never been able to go except in the summer, I'd love to go for MNSSHP.

Hey! I feel like I'm jumping on this a little late! But I'm so excited to say me and my hubby are going May 10-16, and staying at Pop! This is both of our first trips to WDW EVER! :rotfl:

DH & I just booked our trip last night--May 6-12 at BC! :woohoo: We weren't planning a vacation at all this year, but really need a break from real life right now. This trip will be a trip of "firsts":

first time booking with this short of a planning window
first time staying at BC (we're diehard WL fans)
first time "winging it" with no dining plan
first time to WDW in May (we usually go right after Labor Day)

As of today we are under the 3 month mark...89 days to go :cool1: We have our flights booked so our dates are for sure...Can't wait.

Budafam~Those videos were great!!!:goodvibes Makes me want May to be here even quicker!! Your son is so adorable:)

Thank you everyone!!! These were the first videos I ever made... I hope to get better at it on our next trip :)

I've been toying with the idea of booking the parasailing for two... I'd like to surprise DH with something. I looked into the Richard Petty Driving Experience and I guess the top speed is only 130... DH does that almost on a daily basis (don't tell the police!) but I can't see spending that much for something he already does... at least we could both do parasailing... has anyone done it? Curious as to how long it takes since we'd have to do it on an MK morning...

Just made reservations for a surprise May trip! :) We'll be there from May 23rd-May 31st... we've gone in May before, but usually we head back home right before Memorial Day, so I'm a little nervous about those Memorial Day weekend crowds.

This will be our first time to surprise the kids...I'm super excited! :yay:

We'll be staying at All-Star Sports (a first for us...hope we like it!)

This is also a different trip for us because it's the first time it will be just me, my dh, and the kids...my mom has always accompanied us in the past.

We're going to be doing the Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony at Epcot on the 27th, so that will be cool.

Also... this will be our first time doing Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

Oh, and last but not least, my baby boy will FINALLY be 40 inches tall! :woohoo:

Whew, thanks for letting me share.... it's gonna be really hard to keep the secret until we leave! :goodvibes

I love garden grocer, we use them every trip, as long as you will eat in your room enough to use them (plus snacks and water) it is worth it in my opinion!

I do not fly delta so cannot help with #2
