****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Question of the Day:
Have you ever been stuck on a ride in WDW from it breaking? If so, tell us your experience!

it's a small world. :sad2: Sat for 15 minutes before CMs finally came and got us off the boat, they.never.turned.off.the.music. I swear one started looking at me, with "kill" in her eye.

The second (same trip) was Splash Mountain, we hadn't even left the loading area yet and it went down. :lmao: That wasn't long though, only 5 minutes or so.

It would have been Test Track in Epcot.

I was on it with one of my DD's who was around 14 at the time. The car simply stopped when it was on the outside track at the part where the track bends. So, at that point the track also is banked. Here you have the car simply 'stalled' tilting at, what, 30% outside!

Good think it was a nice day weather wise!

The car moved after 5 or so minutes but DD was not pleased at being left 'hanging' on an angle. It was a couple of years before she would ride it again.

Question of the Day:
What extra pixie dust do you hope to receive at WDW? (Ex. Let your son be the train conductor)

I won't say what I really hope for (as that would be like wishing for something right before blowing out the candles on one's birthday cake! :) ).

So, my second place extra pixie dust will be not to get those 'looks' from folks when DD who uses a wheel chair makes everyone wait to get on the bus as the bus driver loads her using the wheel chair lift.

I've heard of people getting really cool stuff like room upgrades, fastpasses to rides, etc. but I'm not expecting to get anything -- that way if we get something I'll be that much more impressed and thrilled. I know I'm just going to be so happy to be back at WDW period that I don't really need or want anything extra. But if it happens I won't turn it down!

I would LOVE to be chosen for family of the day at MK. We tried our first time but we were about 2 minutes too late (we saw the family that got picked)... maybe this will be the time.

This may seem a tad odd, but I'm hoping this trip inspires my nephew to talk more... He has high functioning autism, so he does talk, but not as much as he should be for a 4 year old boy. He tends to say words when he's pretty excited about something. He LOVES Disney channel, so I know he's going to LOVE Disney. And since we're going for a week, I'm hoping to get him yacking a lot about it. :cheer2:

So a question was propsed by snowdrift7 - What tours/special events will everyone be doing this year?

Let us know what you think you might participate in! I would love to see what everyone is doing :woohoo:

We might do the pirates league it goes well with the whole pirate theme pirate: but we aren't sure yet.

The quote option didn't work well but here is my answer to what we typically do the day we arrive:

Normally we check in and go straight to a park, but I learned last year that it's very tiresome to do that with a child. So this next year we are arriving and head out to DTD for lunch and then come back and hang out at the hotel for the rest of the evening.

I don't really know. We are celebrating both of our daughters' birthdays on this trip so I hope that at least a couple TS places will acknowledge that.

Oh, and I hope we get the room location we want.

I try not to hope for something specific, that way I am not disappointed if it doesn't happen. If it DOES, then it makes it extra magical! :cloud9:

To get the royally refurbished room at POR. I have requested it when I booked but know that not all requests can be fulfilled. Also that my daughter reaches the minimum height limit of 40" before our trip she is 38 1/2 right now and we still have 167 days so its a possibility. That way her and I can ride more together.

I also hear you on this one! My daughter is 3 right now and with shoes on, she measures 39 1/2"... she REALLY wants to be able to do the big rides (and she's not a scaredy cat like her big brother) so I'm hoping she will be able to otherwise it could be a very long trip... lol...

I actually received some pixie dust this past weekend. :wizard:

While flying with Delta on an unrelated trip, I was bumped off an overbooked flight. Little to my knowledge, I was given a $600 voucher per ticket. :yay:Amazingly, I was able to use the $1200 Delta vouchers to pay for my family's airfare to WDW in May. We were going to drive from Louisiana, but now we flying and it only cost 44 dollars OOP! We are so excited b/c now we can stay an extra day since we will not have two days of driving to add to the trip.

Who knew you could receive pixie dust away from the world. :goodvibes

I would love some pixie dust today! I am waiting for one of my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) test scores! I studied 150+ hours for this test and hope to get that passing score!

For May, I am really hoping that I get some Honeymoon pixie dust! Anything from surprises at meals to something in our hotel room!

The warm cinnamon roll for sure. We had it for the first time on our last trip and they are gigantic! 2 of us shared one and it was plenty... and sooo good. Well worth the long line.

I'll be killed for this, but I've never actually been to it... I might have to, this time around. :)

I have never been to it either!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Yet, spending more time in the Main Street stored is on the agenda for this trip.

I have read that I think it is the cinemon roles that are to die for and can easily feed 2!

Hi!

I was wondering if you booked your airlines reservations already, or waiting for a sale etc...

Can you tell me where you are flying out from and how much you paid for the RT tickets?

I keep watching but not sure what is a good rate.. and wondering if we are still too far out to book for a good deal???

I'm flying Las Vegas or Orlando!

Thanks for your info!

I'm hoping aboard the May Train!!! We're going in May too! Either May 7-11 or May 14-18, waiting on work schedules before booking. I know we will book in the next week though! I CAN NOT WAIT! We've already bought out AP's...which makes me super happy! Now, I just have a few questions.

1. What are the crowd levels like in May?
2. When do AP holder deals come out for May?
3. What is weather like in May?

THANKS! Happy planning to all!
