Official March 2022 thread!

question - if I wake up at 6:55AM and try to make our ILL for Rise and get an evening time, should I wait for something else to pop up for the morning? Or is it better to just buy what you get?

For rope drop for Rise - who has done that? What is the best strategy to walk over to galaxy edge from the ticket booths? We are walking from Boardwalk Inn so assuming we need to get there earlier than early entry, but how early?

We were there earlier this month and I tried to get a ILL$ for RotR as fast as I could, but it was really difficult. The link kept giving messages and when times would finally show up they would disappear before I could complete the transaction. It was very frustrating. Finally I was able to get times that were in the late afternoon. I decided to get a time that was after dinner rather than mess up my afternoon. I was glad that I did that because Galaxy's Edge was really beautiful at night.

We have also gone to Hollywood Studios for early entry from the Yacht Club during a trip in May. We were allowed to enter the park as soon as we arrived and then waited in line outside of Galaxy's Edge until they opened that section of the park. It took us about 50 minutes from the time we were let into Galaxy's Edge until we finished the ride, but that was before the crowds were as large as they are now. I would try to get to DHS by 7:30am if I was going to try this method. It will take at least 15 minutes to walk to DHS. :)

For some bizarre reason I periodically stop getting alerts when there are new posts to this thread yet I still get alerts on a post that I commented on once several years ago.

I am having a similar problem with this thread. I used to get regular notifications, and now I am not getting notified at all. I have even tried unwatching it and watching it again, but nothing. Would love to get any tips on how to make notifications pop up, now that the thread is actually busy.

Hi March Friends!

can we talk ride strategy -especially at a Hollywood Studios. I am getting nervous bc literally that is the ONLY place my husband and son are interested in. Looks like Rise is the Resistance is offline today - I keep checking the wait times and today it’s been offline all day.

the other day when I was looking at ILL times for it, definitely nothing at 7:05AM, but at 7:30AM, 9:00AM, 11:00AM -more ILL
Options popped up!

we are planning on going on the 14th and 17th - and yes I have reserved both days!
Please help a newbie out!
Thanks!
We always arrive an hour before RD and have had success every time at each park. We have been the first family down main street, the second family on SDMT, and the first family on FOP, Haunted Mansion, and TOT. Good bus arrivals and skyliners have helped us and then have fast feet and know where you want to go!!!

I'm super interested in the answer to that, I have NO IDEA about the new systems and I DEFINITELY want to get my kids on at least Slinky Dog! Is it really the case that if you don't get a reservation for that standing in line is just a no-go?
You can always RD this one and have a "minimal" wait. I'm not sure how old your kids are, but another trick that works for us is to get in line right before the park closes. The line might not be too long, and as long as you are in line before the park closes, you'll be able to ride SDD. Evening times seem to always be a little better, but we've always been an early hours family and relied on RD and the old FP+.

I'm curious -- did you try a speed test before you tried for these? Similar to what everyone advised when ROTR was a virtual queue. I've read some people using this same strategy for ILL$ and LL and having success. I've also read about too many technical issues like this one and wonder if it is just a Disney IT glitch...

I will say, the speed test and time.gov countdown served us well with the virtual queues in the past...I'm going to try that again this year with the ILL$ and LL.

I've been putting off posting because I was afraid we'd get cancelled (again) but we'll be at the World March 18-25. My son's band is marching at MK that Monday and we're so excited. I'm a bit nervous for the drive just DD (14) and me the whole way from IL but I'm sure it'll be great!

18 days out and I’m so excited but also starting to get anxious. I feel like I haven’t been “normal” for almost two years now. (Sorry, just realizing this might be a long post.) This time in 2020 we were in Disney. The weekend directly after getting home, we made an emergency trip to Texas to visit my husband’s brother who was dying of cancer. The day after we got back from Texas, the world changed. Schools shut down, we started working from home, and there was no toilet paper to be found.

Now, almost two years later I work from home permanently, my husband is supposed to go back to the office full time in April (they have pushed it back so many times it’s one of those I’ll believe it when I see it scenarios, and my son loved non-traditional school so much that he’s still at home too. Sure, we’ve done normal stuff again. We shop in stores, eat at restaurants, and had Christmas with family, but this trip will be our first on a plane in two years, our first being around a ton of people…heck, it’s been two years since I’ve worn makeup regularly or put on a bra more than a couple days in a row. I’m scared I’ve forgotten how to act around people. 😂

Just got back from MK and it was a bit chilly tonight so I thought “would be nice for it to warm up a little”, but then I checked the forecast  I guess they do say be careful what you wish for lol ops

Also... all this rain in the coming weeks!! Forecast doesn't go to our dates.... but now considering ponchos and rainboots?!? :scared:

Looking pretty packed already this month - especially if you consider the rumors that they've increased to 100% capacity. It's going to be much busier than Christmas and holidays in the past year when capacity was capped lower...

The week of the 13th is March Break for many Canadians . . . there are millions of us traveling down. And it shows!

We brought our ponchos just in case, never hurts to be prepared! definitely came in handy last night for the 10minutes of rain we were in

What does 100% capacity even mean though? Prior to Covid they very very rarely (I think like once or twice on Christmas day) closed for capacity, but now we see the park reservations selling out regularly. So I wouldn't think 100% of a few years ago = 100% today. Or maybe just my wishful thinking lol.

I read that week is spring break for some districts in Florida as well.

This is me, been watching the weather like a hawk and it's been nice 70s and low 80s then bam, my week it's 90s.

I’m right there with you! It’s bad luck for sure - especially for my parents who are in their 80s. We rescheduled to next week from January due to Covid, and thought that surely early March would not too hot for them. Then this. We were there in early May last year and highs were 95ish - again 10+ degrees above average - and they really struggled. I’m desperately hoping for some nice breezes and cloud cover so things don’t feel so hot.

Oh well, we will do what we can and have fun!

I also booked early March on the assumption that the temps would be nice, and feel that I may have cursed us all :P Sorry, everyone!

Has anyone seen a good deal on a rental car? I have one reserved now but it is $680
