Hello, friends,
Are you going to WDW for the holiday season? Are you a Star Wars fan and/or traveling with one, big or small? Were you excited and looking forward to seeing the Star Wars fireworks show everyone has been raving about? Maybe you set aside a couple of hundred dollars to pay for the dessert party as soon as dates during your vacation opened up for reservations.
And now it has been snatched away, with unthinking cruelty. And for what? A Prep and Landing show. Seriously? Are more people excited to see those C list Disney elves than images from movies we've watched and re-watched out of wonder and love for almost 40 years? How many people in the parks will be wearing Prep and Landing t-shirts vs. Star Wars? I know they're trying to sweeten the deal with NBC (Nightmare Before Christmas) content, but I'm not buying it.
I'm here for you. I feel your pain. I have created this space for all of us traveling from mid-November to NYE who need to cry a little, shake a fist at the sky, and get through the five stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance).
Me, I'm still at Bargaining, telling myself they're going to do something AWESOME for us on Dec 16 or 17, when "Rogue One" opens, as our vacation coincides with that event. Surely that won't occur without some major acknowledgement? SIGH.
Vent away, friends. Vent away.

Just my luck, we arrive in Orlando on Dec 17th but it will be too late at night to do the Rogue One premiere if it's happening. I've only gotten into SW recently but my friend is a long time SW fan and considering that this vacay is being paid for by his mom as his Grad-School completion present, this would have been the icing on the cake for him. Oh well, I've already splurged a good amount on tickets for MVMCP and that's only to get in extra park time we won't get in otherwise. And the dessert party for this new show sounds like a madhouse (with so many already buying tickets) so I'm not gonna bother with it. We might watch Rogue One while we're down there depending on our schedule though.

I'm gonna try and save up as much money as I can so we can go back down there during Halloweentime sometime in the next few years and do this.

We added on a couple days after a cruise in December with seeing the new Star Wars show as one of the reasons for the visit, that and the AK evening additions. So now Star Wars fireworks is replaced with something really not interested in and ROL is still MIA.

Nice thread. Had a trip booked for the SWW they canceled. Had a trip booked for the Osborne Lights they canceled. Have Aulani booked and they've now canceled the free Starlit Hui show. And had a Thanksgiving trip booked for DS to see SW fireworks--since, ya know, SWW got canceled........and now they canceled it too. Gee, thanks Disney. I really feel like my thousands of repeat vacation dollars are valued.......... Thanks OP for giving us a thread to unabashedly vent.
