*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Hey everyone! Just joining in :). We are heading to POP June 21-June 28th…I just posted a thread asking for help to get excited for this trip. I am nervous about all the FP changes, and also, we typically stay at the CR but for this trip, we are going with my daughter's dance team and we had no choice but to stay at POP. Anyway, y'all seem so excited so I'm hoping some of that rubs off on me! Looking forward to planning with everyone!

Hello and welcome buzzrelly! :wave2: If you are on Facebook, be sure to join our group! It is called Disney June 2014 Planning. We are all pretty excited!

Also, we usually stay at the moderates but my wife and I were on a business trip last year and stayed at the POP. We actually really enjoyed it!

Get excited!!!!! It will be great, just go with a positive attitude and open mind. I am a little nervous to but hope in 6 months much more has been "set in stone"! We always stay at PoP and love it! With that said I would love to stay at the Contemporary.

I'm always excited to go, no matter when or where we stay. It is Disney World and will be great!
Just being there makes me so happy

Can I join!

We are tenatively going in June 2014. It will have been 3 years since our last trip. I will have just finished grad school and our youngest will be heading to Kindergarten in the fall so we need to celebrate!

I've gotta say, I am super nervous about all this FP+ stuff. Like, I don't know if I even want to go, nervous. How in the world can I handle June again without my beloved FPs?? And to top it off, we need to go the last week in June (21-28) and not at the beginning like usual.

Welcome!!!! I say go and see what happens. I think things will be more known by June, that is 6 months away! :)

I got my USB package today! I'm pretty sure it doesn't include anything I haven't already figured out but I'm still excited about it!!

It's really not that big of a deal now that I've checked it out. It comes in a nice box with a personalized book. On our 2013 trip we got a similar book that was Toy Story themed. 2014 seems to be Incredibles themed. The USB just takes you to the MDE site and plays the Edna Mode intro videos. This seems to be a way to instruct the less tech savvy people on how to use the MDE. Pretty sure most people who are on this DB have already figured it out! Haha Still exciting to get something from Disney in the mail! :)

Welcome Dallas_Lady! We are returning this June for the first time in five years and obviously a lot has changed. That being said, just reading up on the DISboards has caught me up to speed and I feel like we are pretty well prepared.

Here's my plan with regards to the FP+ system: We like to show up early for rope drop, so we will ride headliners in the regular standby line. Then, I plan to schedule FP+ around 11am, 2pm, 3pm. That way we get to ride headliners during the busiest time in the park. After the last FP is used, we will leave the park for the day. Hope that plan works out for us! :cool1:

I was wondering the same thing about how best to use FP+. I think I am going along with Alan in the booking headliners for pm times, but for us it de-stresses the mornings! No more DH shouting to DD18 "Your hair looks fine! We need to GO!" :-P Also I think I will reserve a parade spot, at least for the Electrical Parade (our fave); it will be nice to not have to spend 2 hrs sitting on a curb getting more and more hemmed in by people standing around us!

Exactly kalee45! I think it will take a lot of stress off KNOWING you'll get to ride the headliners in the PM whereas before you had to run down your fastpasses. Personally, I think I'm going to love the new system!

This is how we used them in September. Worked great because we are rope droppers so we got to ride more than once

Glad to hear that philosophy worked for you. We are doing the water parks and more package, so a couple of days we will probably go to a water park in the morning/early afternoon, then go to a park for FP+ rides later in the afternoon.

Have one more ADR to make (I can do it tomorrow). We are definitely going to be off-site so we won't have the FP+. It was starting to stress me out, but then DH reminded me that we survived our last (and only trip so far). We went in 2010 over Memorial and SWW. Talk about crowds for a newbie family to get through. We only used FP once and that was for K Safari in AK. We were so worried about getting all the dining on the DxDP. It was a great time. And we found out I was pregnant on our way home.

This time, we are celebrating our so many accomplishments and fun things. We have decided we will do WDW on the military salute tickets, Arabian Nights, Kennedy Space Center and a day at SeaWorld. We are always early to all events so rope drop is a given. No matter, it's all about being together.

Our must do ressies: CP lunch/dinner, Tusker House. I was able to make a H&V for breakfast. It wasn't high on the priorities, but it was available and we said go for it. Other than that, those are all I plan to make. We are going to do mostly QS. I am waiting on more info about the Spice Table--maybe DH and I will stop by there.

DH wants to go on date night to the dining movie theater. Really want to see Malificent's movie, but know that it is too dark for DS3. We'll probably split up with the DS19 & DD16 taking the little guy to DQ for a couple of hours.

I love your attitude about the FP situation! I have read so much negativity that it is nice to see some optimism!

::Welcome dutchdisneyfamily, colachdec, maybeecatlady, sscheier, buzzrelly, & Dallas_Lady!

Hello all!
Just wanted to "formally" introduce our party. . .

Me- Mary-36- love all things Disney. Will be our 4th time to the World plus a trip to DL and we have sailed with DCL three times. Preschool teacher. Favorite character is probably Snow White

Hi, everyone! :wave2:

Friday was the last day of school until next year! Yay! (But I have to go back January 2nd. Boo!)

I've got our list updated. Hopefully, I can spend a little time over the break sifting through to make a post for ADRs. If anyone wants to PM me with a list...or what parks you plan on being in on which days or any other information you'd like for me to post...feel free!

Today is our 180-day mark. I did not get up first thing, but it was still essentially the first thing I did when I woke up. Here's our list:

6/22: Tusker House 8:00am
6/24: Via Napoli 6:30 pm
6/25: California Grill 9:15 pm (hoping to watch Wishes!)
6/27: Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Room 2:05 pm

Not much, but we're on the QSDP. I may go back and sneak in a breakfast at Kona.... :D
