***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

Suzanne - I hate to wear hats also! Even when I was winter camping I would just wear a loose soft wool cowl.

I'm also debating what to bring for my head since I will be switching cameras (and straps) over my head a lot. Maybe a visor is the way to go and I hate the one I have so I think I will buy one at Disney.

My big news though is that I had my first post-op visit and the surgeon was very pleased with my healing and cleared me to :drive:! immediately.

I don't even need physical therapy :goodvibes because I can turn my head in all directions.

This is so different from what someone who has disk fusion (standard, traditional surgery) goes through like my sister did a couple years ago! Disk replacement, which I had done, by a good surgeon is amazing!

I feel great and now I can get serious about preparing for the trip since I can drive and shop for those items I still need.

I don't think I even want to wear a visor, I have my sunglasses and because they are prescription and I can't see without them, I spend half my life and almost every ride switching back and forth between my regular glasses and my sunglasses, I don't want anything else to have to deal with.

That's great about your surgery and that was a short recovery. Have fun shopping.

I've been posting in the May thread....completely forgetting that half of our trip is in June....so we (all 9) are staying at Kidani from May 28-June 4....sorry I neglected my June half...

Congratulations!!! You must be thrilled! Happy driving and shopping!! May each day just get better!

I finally made a decision (being indecisive is horrible) and bought food to ship down for breakfast in the room each morning. I kept debating what to do but financially and time-wise, it makes more sense to just eat something small in the room before we leave. We didn't need much so Garden Grocer wouldn't have worked. I got a couple of boxes of cereal, pop tarts, granola bars, and we'll buy milk at the resort. Now to figure out the water situation .... I hope I'm doing the right thing! :confused3 Thanks for letting me vent. No one in this house wants to talk about the details!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :cheer2:

Happy Birthday Carrie!!!

OOh sorry not my birthday...thats what I was talking about, it was cutting off the quotes so it looked like me saying things. It was Echo Queen's birthday and I was trying to wish it to her :confused3. Sorry Echo didnt mean to steal your birthday

That was weird and bothering me too. I tried to fix it in my own post, but couldn't. On a similar note it is my birthday!! :) So now I'll steal her birthday wishes! :lmao:

So it has probably been asked on here already but I couldn't find it, is Test Track closed yet. I heard it might not close until they were done refurbing Big Thunder and it was taking them longer than planned and they didn't want to have two headlines closed at once. So anyone know what's going on with these two? Thanks

TT was been closed for weeks, not sure of the exact date:sad:

ok, so I need y'all help to convince the DH to bring my new laptop with us. I went to work with the DH today (he's an appliance repair guy). They do work for the Aaron's stores in the area and he had to go to one today. While he was talking to the manager, I was looking at what they had. I didn't realize it, but they had computers and laptops. We left that store, went to other calls (one of which had me running screaming through a back yard b/c I saw a snake) and on the way home went to another Aaron's store. Well we ended up leaving with a laptop. I only have 2 SD cards for my camera. One is a 2 GB and the other is a 16 GB. I'm afraid that is not going to be enough without having to dump some picutres before we get home. We're going to be gone a total of 12 to 13 days, and I'll want to take pictures when we see the DH's cousin, Kennedy Space Center, and some of Cocoa Beach in addition to the WDW stuff. Do y'all think that is enough memory on the two cards, without having to dump pictures onto a laptop. The good thing is, if something goes wrong with the laptop while we are going, it's covered under warranty. Well dropping it isn't, but he said they could probably get around that, since DH does so much work for them.

I had a laptop with Aarons and they had a great return policy for anything! Unfortunately or not, the two computers I got from them were previously owned apparently and they both crashed, I took them in they didnt even ask why it didnt work they just traded it for a new one for me. I guess your only real concern then would be theft which could happen anywhere.

We are taking my new laptop that I just got a couple months ago for school. I was a little concerned since its 17 in that it wont fit in the safe in our room at POP. However we had no issue last year when we had our other laptop (older so not so concerned lol), IPOD, etc. I also heard you can have the front desk hold on to it?

Anyway we are taking ours for that same reason, it is so expensive I heard to buy memory cards down there and I dont want to not be able to take as many pictures as possible. Plus we have a camcorder and we never have enough memory for that, so we download everything at the end of the night. We learned the hard way our first time to HS we went to Indiana Jones show and in the middle we ran out of memory:sad:.

Also now the hotels all have wifi :cool1: so we can watch netflix at night if theres nothing on tv or email pics back to family which I think is cool when you are still on vacation!

I bought some bug spray with a flowery smell, supposedly, but it still smells funky.
That what I'm afraid of. We'll already have the sunblock on and then add another smell on top of that. I guess it's better than coming home sunburn with bug bites all over us.

We will take bottles of water and gateorade (I have to drink some of that when I'm out or I feel more dehydrated. We will also ask for a cup of ice water at the CS restaurants, it's free, why not, and since it comes out of the soda machine, it doesn't have that icky taste everyone talks about (I personally have never had a problem with FL water). I can't drink out of a metal bottle, it gets that metal taste and I can't stand that.

If you don't care for water much, try adding that new Mio water enhancer, it is really good without adding the sugar you get from those little flavor sticks.

I totally forgot about the Mios that I bought. I'll have to buy a few more though b/c these have been open for a while, and I'm not sure how long they are good for once you have opened them.

I sweat in my head relly bad, I know the hat will make that worse. I do wear a hat at the races, because I'm sitting in the same place for about 5 hours, but I will be moving around alot more at WDW.

Mine does too. What I hate is that my hair slowly slips out of the hole during the day. It's mostly the hair close to my neck. When I have to take the hat off to put the hair back in a pony through the hole, my hair that is under the hat is so wet it looks like I took a showe, but the rest is dry. But then if I take

I would much rather go to WDW thru GA, that drive thru AL is horrible and very long.
We'll probably end up going both ways. On the way there we'll go from the Justin, TX, through Arkansas to Mepmphis, and down to Winfield. Then from Winfield we'll detour through GA straight down to WDW. On the way home we'll go from Cocoa Beach, over to Gulf Port, AL and then up to Shreveport back to Justin. I just don't want to go the same way there and home. I think it'll make the drive home seem longer.

DH leaves in the morning for 2 weeks, I hope it goes by quickly. I'm hoping my cousin will let me work at her tanning salon and make some extra money. My vacation starts 2 weeks from today.

I hope it does go by quickly.....in a way. I want it to hurry up and be time for vacation, but then part of me doesn't want this school year to be over. Our oldest DS, my little 4 pound baby (well he started out that small, but is now 5'10") will be a Freshman this next school year. I just don't know if I'm ready for my baby to be in high school. We leave on vacation in 13 days and we arrive at the Pop for check in in 16 days.

You know, I didn't even think about theft. My DH is just worried that it'll get dropped between taking it in and out of hotels. I have a HP that we used to take to my bil & sil's house for WoW playing parties. I had my 19" HP in a Mickey Mouse laptop bag that I bought from the Disney site. On the way home, this one time, we stopped at the store and got some things. At the time we had a Ford Explorer, and I was just planning on opening the window in the back gate to put the groceries in. Well our oldest DS was trying to be helpful, and before I could stop him, he opend the back gate. The laptop fell out, and landed on the concrete on a corner. It worked for a little while after that, but then I had to buy another one. Lesson learned on that one, the laptop bag from the Disney store was cute since it had Mickey on it, but didn't have the padding that the ones I already had at home did. If I had had it in one of the not as cute ones my DH had at home, it would have been fine.

My DH is so funny some times. I went to work with him yesterday. We had an hour drive to one person's house (one hour, one way drive) and I made him talk about the trip. I was saying that I didn't know how far we would get on the first day since the boys might not get off the bus until as late as 3 PM and he wanted to get as far a Memphis. He was like, "Heck no we're not waiting for the boys to get off the bus. We'll be sitting in front of that school by 1 PM (they don't get out until 2), grab them, and then get on the road." We're still shooting for Memphis, but we'll just get as far as we can that first night.
