mtschopp hope you have a great vacation. I added you to the current list on post 482 page 33. Lots of June Diser's.

letthewookiewin Mousesavers had some great discounts on rooms the other day. Seems like the Swan (could be wrong on the name) was $89 and it is right next to the WDW entrance. I would check out Mousesavers for a room though or the sight with the restaurant menus and cost, but can't think of the name of it either.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista in Jan and it was $68 with Priceline, but I know Mousesavers has an ongoing special with them all the time. It is very close to DTD.

Also the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista (used to be Safari)which is a block in the opposite direction of the Holiday Inn is off property and they just completely redid it and they are having a Grand Reopening special and I think rooms were $135/night and it has a nice new pool play area.

I didn't see any others closer or that I would stay in.




The Swan is right in the middle of Disney property, between Boardwalk and the Dolphin, but I would sure love to find it for $89, especially that time of year, I checked and even the military rate is well over $200/night in June

Might I suggest Raglan Rd, we ate there for the first time in January and I don't know why we kept skipping it. From now on, we will probably book there one night even if we are just doing a quick mostly counter service trip. The food was amazing, the atmosphere unique and the entertainment was incredible, even the kids had a great time. The dancers came out in the audience and talked to the kids and even got some of them on stage to help with one song with the band.

I'm so glad that it is so close. I looked it up on a map and it doesn't look far at all. Your birthday is the day that we are leaving WDW. We're having a late lunch at Chef Mickey's and then spending the rest of the day hanging out on Cocoa Beach.

I just keep getting more and more excited about our trip!! I wanted us to spend a night on the way down there at Gulf Shores, AL b/c I went there with my parents as a child several times. I didn't get a ressie in Gulf Shores, but on Orange Beach which is just down from Gulf Shores. I guess it'll have to be close enough. Unless I can find somethin on the beach actually in Gulf Shores. Now, I'm just a little worries about the drive. According to Google maps, it's an 8 hour drive and we'll have the time zone change. I just hope we make it to Orlando in time to check in and get to DTD for our Ragland Road dinner ressie.

Well...it's always my goal to be first We are leaving the day after school gets out - my youngest is graduating from elementary - and my oldest (who is homeschooled at the moment) will be "graduating" from middle school. We can't wait to get out of dodge!

I am so super excited this morning!! I decided to check the DS's school website to see of the calendar had the release time for their last day. They actually had it, and they get out at 11:30 AM!! That means we could be leaving no later than 1 PM, if they ride the bus home, and we can get 8 hours of driving in. If they won't have a bunch of school junk, we may just pick them up to get more driving time in on that first day. Our goal is to get as far that first day as we can. That way we can enjoy some beach time in Orange Beach, AL that Saturday.

We have agreed to take my daughter's best friend so I had to change some dining reservations. I posted these on the dining forum, but I thought I might add them here since all the June folks are hanging out here.
