Official JUNE 2009 Thread!!!

We'll be there June 1 - 8th. Staying at CBR, havn't been to the world in 5 years!!!! I bet so much has changed, kinda nervous about planning. First summer/high attendance trip for us. DD11 and DD17 are about to burst from excitement.

DH says not to worry about the crowds, we will see whatever we can, relax and try to smell the flowers (Yea right!!! I MUST see it all :drive: )

Hope I can find some great tips on utilizing the Fastpass System!!!

We will be staying there at the exact same time. :thumbsup2 We booked one of the new Pirate rooms pirate: for DS. He is 12, but a kid at heart and loves pirates and stitch.

Yay! I finally have a ticker! :dance3: I have not been on the board lately because we I did not have trip planned, and didn't go for T'giving as I normally do, so I've been depressed and having WDW withdrawls. But finally, I have a ticker and a trip planned! :yay:

Now of course, it's still a looooong way until Jun 13.

Looks like we're going June 14-23 and staying at Pop Century :)

My first post! I finally pulled the trigger today! I'm booked for June 24-July1 at CSR!! I've been reading the Unofficial Guide since Nov when we really got serious about this Disney thing. We finally made the decision to do it! I've got two boys, 6 and 3 who can't wait!

The last time I was at Disney was when I was in the 2nd grade. It was 1978 or so! Epcot wasn't even built yet! We stayed at the Contemporary Resort and it was awesome! It's funny, one of the things I remember most clearly is the New England Clam Chowder at Liberty Tree! That, and the monorail going through the hotel!

I've picked out the following ADRs:
Chef Mickey's
Liberty Tree Tavern (gotta get that clam chowder again!)
Mama Melrose Fantasmic package
Ohana breakfast
HDDR
Coral Reef

Hotel, park tickets and food are taken care of. Flights are booked. Itinerary spreadsheet started...some touring plans are printed...what's a planning junkie got left to do?!?!?

Gotta go find me one of those ticker thingys...

I too commend Disney for military discount. However, I feel it is unfortunate that they do NOT offer to veterans also. My Dad was is the Vietnam War and is not able to receive this wonderful opportunity. Veterans that fought in wars should also be recognized for their service in combat.

How do you get count down to trip at bottom?

We will be at the BC from June 20 through the 27. I have been to WDW about 10 times in my life but this is our first trip back since 2002 and our first trip bringing out youngest two children, 6 1/2 year old twins.

okay, I need to know the secret.. how do you afford to go back over and over....I think I need to get rid of a kid or something LOL.. Just joking.

We budget budget budget!! We always stay in a value (because that's what the kids LOVE at this point, they are 4 and 5) and I never go for "full price." We also drive so we don't have to deal with those crazy airline prices! I also have to nag the life out of DH to get him to agree! If it were up to him we'd be in a tent up in the mountains somewhere. :scared:

I've got two boys, 6 and 3 who can't wait!

Joanne

HI! I have two boys too, ages 6 and 3, who will be 7 and 4 when we get there in June. We went in November and it was so much fun with them. Our previous trip they were 3 and 6 mos. and so not quite the same :faint: BUT we are going again June 17 - 24 and are really looking forward to it -- celebrating two family B-days and I am doing all the same obsessive planning... :upsidedow I also have that guide book and I found it helpful (but especially the DIS board for all those random questions...) we are going to sign up for the pirate cruise. Not sure if your 3 yr old will be 4 on the trip, but might want to look into that. Happy planning! :thumbsup2

June 20-27, 2009 Deluxe Dinning POP Resort
First Disney trip!!!!!!!!

I THINK we're going the same week but not staying at Pop...To be honest, at this point I have NO idea where we are staying!! Things keep happening and we have to push back the trip!! BUT we are going!!

What teacher discount? I teach high school

Starting June 20th the Dolphin has a teacher discount rate for $129 a night. It's not considered a WDW resort BUT is between Epcot and DHS..you can actually walk to both or take the boat. You can't take part in the Dining plan--but the deluxe dining plan is like $72 a person per night...and we don't eat a lot of breakfast!!

If you get this, PM me and I'll give you all the details.

We'll be at POP June 21-28. I have two kids - they'll be 9 and 5 at the time. It's there first trip. Their birthdays ar earlier in June and we're suprising them then - if I can keep it a secret. I'm really bad at that as the time approaches.

I'm just starting to think about ADRs and all of that planning. It's a little overwhelming. My husbadn and I went 10 years ago and we just winged it. Guess with kids and a busy time, it's not wise to do that!

I just booked 6/6-6/13 staying at Dolphin, I can't wait, it will be my grand daughters first time and she's really excited(7 yrs). We get in late 6:30PM, and I am open on what to do the first night. I figure we would start Sunday morning with the parks. I also will have my grandson with me, his 2nd time with me. Any suggestion on where to eat, I figure Norway, then Crystal Palace, then has anyone tried the breakfast with Mary Poppins? Never did this I am wondering if it is good?
I am right now counting the days.
