I have most of our clothes pack...worked last night on the toiletries, hope to finish in the next few days.

Oh, I just got my new smartphone (droid htc). My phone was a regular phone about 4 years old, which in technology years is ANCIENT!!

I'm so excited...got to download touringplans app and some other disney ones for our trip.

Had my root canal yesterday, the actual root canal went fine, didn't feel a thing and i can eat ice cream again! But today my mouth hurts really bad!
Ugh. But in all of the hoopla I didn't even realize I was in single digits!!!!!

I've been reading this thread a couple of pages at a time for the last month, and just decided to join it! Great thread by the way, I learned a lot.

We will be at POR from July 26 to August 4. Please give me your opinion on my ADRs (I need to know I did'nt make too many mistakes):
July 26 5pm - Tusker House
July 27 5:15pm - Spirit of Aloha
July 28 6:30pm - Sci-fi Dine-in
July 29 4pm - Mama Melrose (only ADR I could get for Fantasmic package)
July 30 6:45pm - Garden Grill

Out of all your ADRs we have only been to Garden Grill and loved it. We have an ADR there again for the 3rd straight trip. We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and thought it was OK, I liked Cape May better.

Glad it went well. The last time I had dental work I ate a Frosty from Wendy's for my lunch. It wasn't too cold, but sort of numbed my mouth to give a little relief. Hope you feel better soon!

We have had breakfast at Tusker House and loved it.

Haven't been to Spririt or Garden Grill or Biergarten.

My kids are now "teens" and we love Sci-Fi. Our food has been good as well as our service. It is a great meal to veg out and just watch the movie. We always comment on how relaxing it seems.

Mama Melrose we have been to several times. It is my hubby's favorite place. Excellent food and excellent service.

Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace the food will be about the same. Maybe a few different dishes. We love the characters at both and can twirl our napkins with the best of them to Celebrate Mickey Mouse at Chef Mickeys. So much better to get autographs and photos with the characters this way than to stand in the long hot lines in the parks.

OMG!! I LOVE the "Go Pack" cow!!!!!! I think I'm in denial that we leave in a little over 2 weeks. I was so 'planny' and then we went on a week long beach trip with my family and now I'm out of Disney planning mode. That's why I was reading Nikki's TR from last summer. I needed to be re-inspired,

I haven't seen Captain EO in years but I think I read somewhere that it's about 20 minutes long. I think it will be popular, but I don't know whether there will be long lines or not..

You've got some great ADRs. We love Whispering Canyon and 50's Prime Time. I have heard great things about Crystal Palace and would love to try it.

Wilderness Lodge is breathe taking and we would love to stay there some day.

I'm at <3 days and am in the stage of not knowing what to do first. I really wish I could pack, but I have to wait for the kids to come home and get their shorts & stuff washed. I can't pack just Dh and I because they have the 2 carry-on bags and I split the rest of our stuff up between 2 large bags. That way, if a bag gets lost, we each still have something to wear.
I can't really clean yet because it won't last. So here I am!

Now I feel like everything is really under way! I cleaned the upstairs of the house today, and DH got rid of all the clutter on the main floor and in the basement! He's upstairs putting some things away in our room, and I am taking a break for a little while. All I have left to do is dust the downstairs furniture, clean the dining room furniture, a little bit of touching up in the kitchen and clean the bathroom on the main level. I know it sounds like a lot, but with all the clutter gone, it goes really fast (my house is pretty small). Then the floors will just need to be done. No big deal, like I said we have a small house so it doesn't take that long!

I also started packing some of the travel-size toiletries into the toiletries bag. I also packed refills for my razor, and since I bought the huge pack of them at BJ's yesterday, it came with a free travel-size shave gel so now I don't have to bring the large one with me! I packed that too, along with 4 razor refills. I also packed some "just in case" meds like Tylenol, Tums (definitely will be needing those!), Tylenol Sinus, Robitussin and Dimetapp. I know these things are all readily available in Florida, but it is just so much easier to have them on us in case someone needs them. I am holding off on packing the children's tylenol and motrin (store brands because of the recent voluntary recall on the brand names), just in case one of the kids needs it before the trip. I also packed lots of sunblock already (we bought tons of it at BJ's and it doesn't expire until November 2011).

I printed out our trip itinerary, ADRs, park touring plans, etc. and they're all ready to go! Now we have some busy days coming up before this trip...tomorrow is my parents' 37th anniversary so we are taking them out to dinner. Friday my sister is making a BBQ for DBIL. His actual b-day is Saturday and we are all going to Six Flags Great Adventure to celebrate. Sunday is the 4th and we are having some family and friends over for a BBQ (I'm making ribs!). Monday we are taking the kids to the zoo and DMIL & DFIL are joining us. Then we are not making any plans at all for Tuesday and Wednesday because those are the days I will be doing laundry, packing, and cleaning the house again in preparation for the trip. If I don't have a spotless house before we leave, I get very stressed out. It may be hard coming home from a nice vacation, but coming home to a clean and neat house sure makes it less painful!

I do feel much less stressed now that he house is clean. I always stress about that, whether it's for a party we're making here or right before a vacation. This time it is for both the 4th and the vacation!

DH and I also have another pre-trip tradition that I forgot to mention before...we always watch the movie "National Lampoon's Vacation" as the trip gets closer. Maybe we will do that tonight after the kids go to bed! It just makes us laugh, harder and harder every time we watch it!!

That's how we feel about the movie 'Step Brothers.' I am such a person who can't really watch a movie or read a book more than once. Once I know what happens, I'm bored I know some may think that movie is kind of 'vulgar' in parts, but we just laugh hysterically and I could watch it over and over!!!

yeah for single digits (me too!) and so glad the root canal was fine. My DH goes on July 7th for a new filling or something like that. Our dentist said he uses new technology, too, so you won't see that "black/silver crater" like we got as kids.

Captain EO is 17 minutes long and yes, I think there may be some crowds in the beginning (maybe the first couple of weeks?). I'd just get a FP for it and not worry about it (assuming they do FP).

We are down to 14 days. Tomarrow we are down to 13 and then the count will go faster I'm sure!

Tomarrow I get to go to the Disney Store in Syracuse to get one or two more gift cards to use in the parks. Then I'm going bowling with a friend of mine in the evening. Then Friday were going to the drive in to see Eclipse and The Grown Ups. After that I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I'm going to do to kill time. The house is looking awesome, bags are packed and weighed, ADR's printed out. I have to do the online check in on the 3rd of July but that's about it.

Trinaweena~Glad your root canal went well and that your feeling much better now.

Bangzoom~I LOVE that movie! It cracks me up each time we watch it esepcially when he has his breakdown.
