Official July 08 Code Watch Thread...FINALLY!!

We're going to be at WDW for three nights pre-cruise at the end of July. I really want to try the Poly, my husband and son want to stay at BWI again and my daughter would like to stay at POP. I wonder who will win out? ;)

I'll be staying at ASMu from July 4th (or 5th) until August 4th so I could REALLY use a code....I really hope they have some :-)

I call CRS to comfirm trip reservations and make some ADRS. I asked the agent if there were going to be any codes for my July trip. He told me to make sure I call back in March beacuse he has heard some people talking about a discount for that month....so let's hope its true..:thumbsup2

Hi! We're traditionally at the World the week of July 4th. I've been on this same thread every year for the past several years now! :rotfl:

This year we plan to drive down the 3rd and will be there the whole week following July 4th - since it's on a Friday. Although we are DVC members, we like to pay cash for the weekends since the points are higher.

So far, we've booked AKV for Sun-Thurs ... now we just need the 2 weekends on either end of the trip. We're hoping for Poly & Yacht Club, but that could change based on any available codes! :thumbsup2

I saw someone comment about codes possibly coming out in March ..... not to say they won't, but I can tell you from personal experience, that the past 2 years in a row, they have dropped on a Wednesday in the middle of May! :surfweb:

Now I guess we all sit .... and wait .... and watch ...... together!
:grouphug:

If I book now with AAA discount and a code comes out can I use the code on top of the AAA discount? Waiting now for to get my AAA 16 number member number, only have the temporary number.

We were in the same situation last year. We had to drop our AAA discount, but with free dining code, we made out and saved a bunch of cash!!

We (DH, DS-7, DS-15) will be having fun in the sun with ya! Going back for our second trip on July 14-19!
I would love to get a discount!

Staying at AKL:woohoo:

not a code, but i just had to change our dates from arriving on 7-12 to 7-19 because of work. we're staying at the beach club, and it turns out the 20th is the start value. I saved 300.00 by switching to a week later. I am still holding out for a code.

This is our first "real" trip to Disney. We are going July 2 - 13 and so far it looks like we are staying at the Caribbean Beach resort. Our kids are 12 & 14 - and through AAA we are paying $5217 including the 10 day hopper pass plus water park, and dining plan. Do you think any other resort would be better or a better value for the money?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Kim

We finally decided on the GF garden view for $327 with AAA. It would be really cool to get a code that was even better though. ;)

We are going July 19-30 and I sadly had to make a back-up at the Marriott Residence Inn in Lake Buena Vista (first time ever to stay off-site). But I am still on a watch for a great code!

We're going July 11th -- 16th (after 5 nights at DVC in Hilton Head). Booked 2 rooms at AKL with a AAA rate. Starting to get nevous that we're spending too much money and may scale back. A better code would really help.
So -- how hot and crowded will it be?

We're in for two weeks starting July 20th at WL. My wallet would REALLY appreciate a code!:rotfl:

apulk.

Its hot. I suggest a lot of water and sunscreen. I've been twice in late July now. The first time it was good awful. The second it really wasn't too bad. Get to the parks early ( as soon as they open). Head straight to the big attraction rides for Fast Passes. Like Soarin or Everest. In the late afternoon we headed back to the pool, but even that didn't get you much rest from the heat. We actually started heading back to the hotel(BC) around 4 or so did the pool then dinner. It hard to escape the heat in July while outside. Do manage your Fast Pass and catch some inside shows for air conditioning. I can't stress enough the early starts though. We saw all the long line attractions we wanted. I did notice by 11am the parks started to get packed. One day at MK we entry at opening and rode many rides without long lines. We couldn't be it, but a few hours later it was back to long lines.

I totally agree on the heat. Saw at least two people pass out while in line due to the heat last year.

We do the early mornings, but also take advantage of the EMH late nights. During EMH after Wishes the crowds at MK are relatively light, place has cooled off and you can practically walk onto any ride you want.

Another July FL tip - go to the dollar store and pick up a cotton bandana. When you get to the park hit the restroom and soak it in cold water. I wrap mine around my neck, DS likes to wrap his around his head. Does wonders to keep you cool!

We (dh,2ds and I) are planning for July 4-12 for ds graduation trip

We going July 22nd - July 30th!!:tink:

We have been going in July for a couple of years now. I just can't take my kids out of school and deal with loads of work when we get home!!

We stay at the pool in the morning almost everyday. Sometimes we take advantage of EMH, but we run back to pool ASAP!!! We go every year so we don't kill ourselves in the heat. We get to see everything, relax and not pass out.

If a code come out, my DH will be so happy. He might even take us for holidays. My kids have been dying to see WDW for the holidays. Maybe we could make a long weekend so we don't miss too much school.

:tinker:
