We'll be over your way for the Campfire on the 16th!
This is exactly why DD chose to stay in the campground for her birthday:"because Chip and Dale live there and we can make s'mores with them!"

Hi! This is my first post! We are going January 7-12 and staying at Pop Century. It will be myself, DH, three kids (11, 8, 4) and my mom (We'll have two rooms.) This is the first trip for my kids, and I'm so excited! I'm planning to surprise the kids with the trip for Christmas. Right now, I'm in the middle of trying to figure out dining. I've never done character dining before, and the choices are a little overwhelming!

We usually ONLY travel to WDW in January. Though the weather can get very chilly (this year, one morning, it was 38 degrees!). We are from Michigan so I can handle the cold, but, 38 degrees at Disney is COLD! Pack accordingly. Attractions are often closed for refurb in January also. It seems that almost every January (except for this past January - woo hoo!), Splash Mtn. is closed for refurb. Keep that in mind when planning. When making ADR's, you still will have the same struggle getting certain reservations such as BOG and CRT. But, keep trying and you eventually should get the restaurant/time that you want. To us, January is a gem and I hope people don't catch on how nice and un-crowded it is there!
I am a bit worried about the Pro-Bowl ruining the low crowds factor this year. We shall see...
What dates will the Pro Bowl affect?
January 29th is the Pro Bowl. They're expecting football related activities at ESPN complex, Magic Kingdom & Disney Springs for the week before that. Nothing specific has been announced yet.
I looked at your dates...you're probably fine. You're leaving just as it's getting started.
Our dates are January 20-28 so we're right in the middle of it! lol
Hi guys!
I am travelling with my mum from Sydney Australia to Disney on the 4th Jan - 18th. Extremely excited as this is our first trip, but starting to get concerned as our window for dining opens this week and i haven't gotten day plans set yet.
we will have a 10 day ticket and will go to Universal for one day. Do you suggest we stay out of the parks on the marathon day?
I wish the hours that were released give a better idea of the times!

It might have something to do with that Pro bowl thing. I'd keep checking....@#%@#!
Just booked 1/25/17-2/2/17 as according to most crowd calendars I could find that looked like a low time. I wonder how much this will really affect the parks.
Side question.... We love Coronado Springs Resort but for some reason all through Jan it's 400+ a night instead of 170-200 like Caribbean/Port Orleans. Anyone know why?
At one time during Braves spring practice CSR rooms were set aside for the players and families. I thank some of the rms and beds were more made for an athlete. So it might be the official Pro Bowl Disney Resort. Plus they have the convention rooms for team meetings. This is all a guess on my part.@#%@#!
