Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

We'll be staying at POR in May. And we plan to get around to see all the Resorts we have never seen yet.

Couple of Questions I have not seen answered:

1. POR to Coronado Springs for ADR at Maya Grille

2. POR to Caribean Beach for Resort hopping

3. POR to the All Star resorts for Hopping

4. POR to POP/AofA

5. POR to OKW

6. Also, how long of a walk is it to FQ from POR

I know its a long list. Just interested where would be the best bus transfer locations to each are.

For all of these, you're going to take a bus to a park and transfer. Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and the water parks will be the best transfer points for most.

For CSR, Animal Kingdom could work, too. For OKW, the Downtown Disney bus could work.

From POR to POFQ, it depends where you start and where you want to end up. They are literally across the street, so they aren't far apart, but POR is somewhat large. There is a boat that leaves POR and stops at POFQ on it's way to Downtown Disney, so that's an option, too.

The map at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/map/ is pretty useful for seeing everything layed out.

I would not recommend AK for any transfers from POR, except possibly AKL. AK can be a pretty long bus ride, especially if the bus is stopping at BB. And you're going out of the way, even for CSR.

From POR to OKW, Epcot would be best.

For all the others, either Epcot or DHS, whichever bus comes first. But if you're there at a busy time, the entrance to DHS can get backed up in the morning, so stick with Epcot if that's the case.

Is there a calculator somewhere that I can just plug in my to/ from location? And get the various ways to achieve that?

Is there a calculator somewhere that I can just plug in my to/ from location? And get the various ways to achieve that?

Nope. It would be nice though. There is one site, Our Laughing Place, that has an area where you can plug in where you are starting from, and where you want to go....it then gives you all the ways to get where you want. BUT.....this site is notorious for having bad info.

Your best bet? If you haven't left for WDW yet, just ask here. Posters here have the most up-to-date info. We have transportation CMs on board as well.....extremely helpful.
If you're in WDW, and need to get from point A to point B,just ask a transportation CM. Bus drivers are incredibly helpful.

Will be at Epcot and go to GF for a 3pm appointment at Ivy Trellis then 1900 PF dinner at 4:50. Then heading back to Epcot until IllumiNations.

Transportation advice and when should we leave Epcot to GF for apptmnt? TIA!

You will take the monorail to the TTC. Transfer to the Resort monorail line...hop off at the GF...second stop after you get on. To be at the GF for 3pm, you should be at the monorail platform by 2:00. There could be waits for the monorail, both at Epcot and the TTC.
When you're done earring, back on the monorail. Get off at the TTC, transfer to the Epcot line and back you go!

Monorail platform at Epcot, right?

Last minute questions, just to solidify my plans!

1. From MK to 1900 Park Fare, we can take either boat or monorail? For monorail if we so choose, we go out to the TTC and get on the resort monorail? Is there a better choice of the two? We'll be at MK, going for dinner at PF, then heading back to MK for the fireworks.

2. AoA to 8am breakfast ADR's at AK and MK, will the regular park bus will be running from our hotel by 7am?

3. We can go from any park to any park via the park bus, however if we want to go to DTD we have to catch the bus from a resort, correct?

The monorail has 5 stops, and GF is the last stop before MK. The boat stops at MK, then GF, then Poly. So it would be best to take the boat to the GF (unless there's a line that will make you wait for the 2nd boat), and the monorail back to the MK (just 1 stop). Also, if the weather is bad, you might want to take the monorail to GF, because there is a moderate unsheltered walk from the boat dock to the lobby, while the monorail has a direct entry.

Yes.

Yes.

Except you can't take a bus between MK & Epcot -- just the monorails.

Excellent, thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to elaborate on the great info you have already.......if you're getting the monorail at MK, it will go to CR, TTC, Polynesian, GF....this is the Resort line. You could take the Express line to TTC and then transfer to the Resort line. Most of us would just take the Resort line to begin with! And the boat tends to be faster.
As far as those early buses go....they start by 6:30. But, they don't run quite as often as the regular resort to park buses do. For an 8am ADR, I would be out at the bus stop no later than 7! Don't forget....your ADRs, especially at AK, can be a longish walk. And you could just miss a bus, so you could face a wait of at least 20 mins, or more, for the next one! 6:45 might be better.

Thank you!!! One is 8am (AK) so we will definately do that. The other is 8:15 (MK). The other mornings we aren't rushing so much. lol

Hello! My daughter and I will be at POR in July. One day we plan to do just World Showcase, starting at 11 a.m. when that part of Epcot opens, and would like to enter at the IG. We will have a rental car.

1. Can I park at Boardwalk/Yacht Club? I actually don't mind paying for a day of valet if that is possible.

2. Would it be better to use bus/boat that day? What is the best route?

We would probably want to leave POR at around 9 a.m., is there a route that would also let us stop somewhere for breakfast?

Thank you to all who can help!

You could valet at the Boardwalk or Yacht Club, or you could park at Hollywood Studios and take the boat to the International Gateway.

Thank you for answering, SuperSnoop!

I love the idea of parking at the Studios, because it would give us the option of starting or ending our day with a quick walk-thru or shopping stop at the Studios, which we aren't scheduled to go to until our last day.

One follow up question, I see on the map that there is a boat launch outside HS the is labeled "Boat Launch to Epcot Resorts." Do I take one of those boats, get off at YC/BC and walk? Or get off at Boardwalk and walk? Or is there an actual IG stop? Thank you so much!

There's an IG stop, but it will be quicker to get off at YC/BC and walk from there. YC/BC is closer to the IG than the Boardwalk, and the boat stops at the Boardwalk before continuing to IG. (HS->Swan/Dolphin->YC/BC->Boardwalk->Epcot)
