Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

The big issue is getting to that second park for rope drop. You can park at DHS and take a bus right to MK...I'm just not sure how early the park to park buses start running.
For your DHS/Epcot day...that's easier....I would actually park at DHS, enjoy your day there, then boat, or walk, to Epcot. You can then walk or boat back to DHS....or take the bus. I usually end my Epcot day in the back of the park, so exiting via the International Gateway and then on to DHS.
For your DHS AK day....park at DHS and then bus to AK. Bit again, I'm just not sure how early those park to park buses start.....you will probably be ok, just not 100% sure.

We have parked at one park and spent the morning there, then took disney transportation to another park for the evening, then took disney transportation back to the first park for the rest of the night. But other than situations like that, It's easier to just drive to each park. It's very difficult (and sometimes impossible) to travel between parks before rope drop. Your plan will also involve waking up at least an hour earlier than you normally would

Thank you! I didn't realize there were park to park buses. And I wouldn't mind the walk from HS to Epcot at all.

It was suggested to me on an earlier post to park my car at the park that I would be ending my day at instead of driving it from parking lot to parking lot. So if I plan on beginning my day at HS and end it at the MK, which is where I would park my car, what would be the best way to get to HS from MK? We would like to get there at opening which will be 9:00 am that day. We are staying off site. Or would it just be better to drive from lot to lot? The same question would apply to Epcot and HS. One day we might begin at HS and end at Epcot. And the same question for beginning at AK and ending at HS.
I think somewhere in here is a question about parking at the TTC and then going to HS. Now that they've moved the park-to-park buses away from the TTC, what's the best way to do that? Walk to Poly then bus to HS?

Yes.

You could. Or you can ferry to MK and take a direct bus from there.

Or monorail to Epcot (if it's running), then a direct bus. People always wanted the buses to run directly to/from MK. Now I think I see one reason why Disney kept it at the TTC for so long (also space I guess).

There is probably an answer in here somewhere for this, but this thread is out of control LONG! Here is the deal...We come in at 9:30 in the morning and have an ADR for the Hoop Dee Doo at 4:15. We figured we would go to Downtown Disney for an early lunch (I'm sure we'll be starving) and look around (We can also do DisneyQuest). Do we have enough time to do this...and TRANSPORTATION related...how is the fastest way to get to Fort Wilderness from DD? Thanks! 35 Days to go!! :yay:

Direct bus from DD to Ft Wilderness. At the Outpost (i.e. front of the campground), take the Pioneer Hall bus.

Buses out of DTD no longer stop at PI, and after 2pm they don't go to TL either, so the bus from DTD to FtW will be non-stop; actual travel time should be 15 minutes tops. Add 30 minutes wait for the bus (being extra cautious), and about 25 minutes (again including generous wait time) for the shuttle from FtW Outpost to Settlement, and your total travel time should be about 1:15 max. If you want to arrive at HDD 30 minutes before show time, you should be waiting at the DTD MktPlc bus depot by 2:30.

If you're thinking of a quick-serve lunch (Earl's, Puck Exp, Cooke's, or the food trucks), I think you'll have plenty of time.

Is there a bus direct from Animal Kingdom to Downtown Disney or would I get a bus to a resort and then a bus to DTD?

couple of questions..

animal kingdom to wilderness lodge?
hollywood studios to poly?

We will have a car, but open to any kind of travel

You'll have to transfer at a resort. My pick would be Pop Century - It's on the way and their bus service to DTD is comparatively quick.

If you'd rather not use your car, there are direct buses for both of those routes.

I have some Downtown Disney questions. We haven't been to DTD since they started the construction. We will be there Oct 1-10 and staying at Pop Century without a rental car. The only thing that we really want to do at DTD is DisneyQuest.

1. The bus from Pop to DTD will drop us off at the opposite end from DisneyQuest, in the Market Place, right? Do they still have the internal water taxi to take you from Market Place to the DisneyQuest side or is walking our only choice?

2. Am I correct in understanding that you cannot take a bus from the parks to DTD? If so, if we decided to go to DisneyQuest from the parks, would it be best to take a bus to Saratoga Springs, get off at the Congress Park stop and walk to DQ? or, is there a better way?

Thanks for any help.

Twenty minutes to wait for the bus, another 15 minutes of travel. It depends how crazy the traffic gets by DTD.

I hope you'll all forgive me for not reading all the pages of this thread! But I mostly just want to know - is the first post's list of park-to-park routes still valid from '10? This is the first time we'll be doing park hopping MOST days without stopping back at the resort, so mostly just trying to figure out the easiest ways to get between parks....
