Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Thanks for the info. Now some clearifing questions

Monorail-- what about party nights, does it run one hour after party closing time or public hours?

Boat at Epcot-- is that at the back entrance?

I can't say with any surety that the monorail will be running after the parties. I believe that the monorail shuts down an hour after the park closes to the public...then provides a bus to the Polynesian, GF and TTC.
Yes, the boat at Epcot is just outside the International Gateway.

I have two questions for all you how-to-get-from-here-to-there gurus.....

-I'm going to dinner at the Poly, meeting family there at 4:45. I'll be coming from Beach Club. What time should I leave Beach Club to get there by 4:45, and which route should I take? (I've heard bus to any park then bus to Poly, or walk to DHS then bus to Poly, or walk through Epcot, then mono to TTC to Poly mono...etc...). What would you suggest?

- My daughter and I may check out the Chip 'n Dale Campfire sing-a-long at the Fort Wilderness Cabins, where my sis will be staying. How can we get back to Beach Club after the sing-a-long?

Thank you!

The easiest way to get to the Poly from the Beach Club using Disney transportation would be to take the bus to MK, then take the monorail to the Poly (or you could get off at the TTC and walk from there). I'd say give yourself an hour just to be safe with regards to the waits.

To get back to the Beach Club from the cabins, take the boat to MK, then take the bus to BC.

hi everyone. wow i'm so glad i found this thread. i've been reading it and getting lots of notes, but i figure i should just ask.
the last 2 times we have been to disney we always use the buses and have never had any issues.
This year however we are taking my little one for the first time and he love anything boats trains and trucks.
I wanted to try and work using the boat but i'm not sure how to make that work since we will be staying at ASMo.
my best guess was the night we have ADR at WCC, take a bus to MK then ferry over to WL then back to MK and then bus to the hotel for the night.
i though there was a boat to DTD but i'm not sure.
i'm get so frazzled trying to figure it all out let alone trying to work in the monorail and boats and buses then getting to various resort, and then back "home" any help is greatly appreciated.

If you have plenty of time to spare...you could take the bus from ASMovies to Epcot. Then, take the monorail over to the TTC...nice long ride for your ds. Then, take the monorail over to the CR....almost a full loop. Hop off and take the boat to WL from the CR.
You can take a bus, from a park, to POR. Then, take the boat from there to DTD. Or head to DTD and take a boat ride to POR and then back to DTD again.

You can also take a boat from the back door of Epcot over to DHS and back again if you want. Takes about 25 mins each way..not including wait times.

We decided to use a rental car (thanks Dollar for the fabulous deal!). We have driven our own car before and I remember it being very easy to get around, but to be safe we will bring our GPS from home. I will be entering addresses in before we leave home for the parks, Sea World, our resort (SSR) and the airport. Where is the best place to get these adresses? Thanks!:drive:

Wow thanks. Do you think 2 1/2 hours is enough time to do the first option?

Hello, what's the fastest and easiest (with three small children - one in a stroller) way to get to the Contemporary from CBR for a 8:40 am Chef Mickey reservation? Would my best bet be to take the bus to MK and walk? Or does a bus go from CBR to the Contemporary?

Also - we will be doing MK the day before, so if we don't want to go back to MK after Chef Mickey, what would be the next easiest/fastest park to get to from the Contemporary? Or does it matter?

Thank you!

Going to Chef Mickey's definitely bus to MK and walk across to the Contemporary. It is maybe a 10 minute walk.

After breakfast you can either monorail to Epcot (you have to switch to the Epcot line at TTC) or head out to the CR bus stop to catch the bus to DHS or AK.

Thank you that is SO very helpful! :)

I see from other posts that there is a bus from CR to DTD...is this correct? Because we will fly very early and stay late the night before at MK for Wishes I'm thinking we might take it easy and do some shopping after our ADR the next day.

Sure. The ride from Epcot to TTC is about 15 mins (plus any wait times), then over to the Resort line...5 mins, then possible wait time of up to 10 mins. 20 mins over to the CR, off and down to the dock..about 10 mins, then boat to WL.about 15 mins plus wait times. If you leave 2 hrs to do it, you'll be more than fine. And then, you can take some time to check out both the CR and WL if you find yourself running really early!!

There are buses to DTD from all resorts.

Not sure if this question has been asked before.
We'll be park hopping in August from MK to AK and back to MK.
Which is the quickest route using Disney transportation?
My options are
walking to the Contemporary and taking the AK bus,
or taking the monorail or ferry to the TTC, then bus to AK.
On the return journey using one of these options in reverse.

I think the monorail to TTC would usually be faster, because:

  • The Express Monorail runs frequently enough that additional wait time is negligible (unless there are more than a train's load waiting), and
  • The bus from CR to DAK stops at BB, which can add 10-15 minutes to the travel time; the bus from TTC goes direct non-stop to DAK

...and I can take them even though I'm staying at CBR? Our ADR is at CR and I'm thinking DTD afterwards.
Not a problem at all...guests do that all the time!!!

I usually just walk over to the CR and take the bus from there.
The nice thing about the AK bus at the TTC is that I don't think it makes other stops...I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Oh yeah ... I forgot that it stops at 1 or 2 other resorts as well (depending on the time of day.) So it could take 20-25 minutes longer than the TTC bus.

Hey all,

I was hoping someone could offer some advice regarding getting to Boma for breakfast at 9:30 am from CSR. I would really appreciate it!

Thanks :)

You could always take a cab, as it would be quickest and easiest but would cost you a bit. Using the buses I would bus to AK and switch buses there to the AKL bus.
