**Official Frozen Sing-Along, Oaken's, Holiday Premium Package Tips, updated 1/5/15

So at the moment this has just been extended through September on the weekends? Not weekdays? My HS day is a Monday and it cannot be changed so as of right now I don't have to worry about this?

Except for the parade, it sounds like you had a most excellent day! Warms my heart to hear about the cm and the fireworks! What about the parade didn't you like? I have never seen a photopass photographer at the ice. That's great that you got pictures taken there! I agree, I'd love for those to stay. I haven't tried the Olaf cupcake. Do you know if there are nuts in it? It looks so cute and tasty. I love creamcheese frosting, just have to stay away from tree nuts.

Oh! That was the part of the day I wished me had the package. It was hard to find a good spot. It was crazy crowded and super stifling hot. Caitlyn really wanted to get in 2 art classes before the parade so we didn't have as much time to stake out a spot.

As for the cupcake, I can't say. It was really smooth for carrot cake, so it wasn't very obvious. Just knowing carrot cake I would stay away from it unless being able to confirm with a pastry chef making them. They are so good with food allergies, I'm surprised they don't have a sigh for it either way. The cream cheese frosting was heavenly. :(

Most of FSF continues daily through September 28th. It's the fireworks and the Premium Package that are only on weekends.

We have always seen great shaded spots from the opposite side of the street from Sounds Dangerous to Star Tours. Only need to get there by 11 when they put up the ropes. And the parade passes by there around 11:10.

I've gained 10 pounds since FSF began. I don't need to try the Olaf cupcake too. But I will ask about the nuts and share one if there's no nuts. I think it may be all the poweraid I'm drinking. I don't normally drink poweraid, but I've been loading up the day before we go to a park and the Elsa cupcake I'm eating in the park. I'm sure water would work just as well and I've had my share of Elsa Cupcakes.

I need some advice on fitting the FSF activities into my DHS day. We'll be there on a Thursday, so no fireworks, but I'd like to do the other activities as DD loves Frozen! My current FP+ and ADR for that day are:

9:10-9:25 Voyage of the Little Mermaid
10:00-11:00 Toy Story Mania
11:00-12:00 Star Tours
12:15 F! Package at Mama Melrose

If I use my TSMM FP at the beginning of my window, will I still have time to get a spot for the Processional? Or should I change my FP times to later in the day and just focus on Frozen in the morning? We will need to go back to the hotel for a nap after lunch and then come back in the evening before 8pm F! show.

Out of the FSF things, I'm especially interested in seeing the processional, sing along, and Oaken's.

You'll need to grab a standby ticket for one of the singalong show times. The earlier you go to pick up the ticket, the more choice of times you'll have. The first show is at 12:30. Not sure if times will change for week days in September after Labor Day?

Do you want to see the stage part of the welcome processional or just the parade part? If you want to see the stage part, you'll need to be somewhere on Hollywood BLVD to view the parade. And you'll need to get there before 10:30am. If you want to miss the stage show, you just need to get somewhere between Idol and the Star Tours before the ropes go up at 11am.

If you want to do the Funland, you'll need to decide if you'll do that before or after nap time. Allow for an hour just in case there is a queue outside. Because an outside queue means an indoor queue, and an additional queue to build a snowman.

So, anywhere on Hollywood Blvd would give viewing for the processional and stage show for the welcoming ceremony?

Is the sing a long worth going to?

I thought the singalong was great fun. The show with it was really cute and funny. If you have kids or even if you don't and like Frozen, I definitely think you'd enjoy it.

I can't remember where we were for the processional because I find all of HS so confusing lol. I couldn't even figure out where the parade was coming from. All I know is we were sitting at a table in an eating area under an umbrella. The view was a little obstructed but we were able to see pretty well. I'm sure that's not very helpful, sorry!

Yes and no. If you can't see the stage, make sure you can see one of the jumbo screens. There is a huge screen at the stage and one on Hollywood BLVD just after you pass Sunset There is also the Idol screen too, but the processional stops there so some vision of the screen may be blocked by floats.

This was taken inside the Premium Package Viewing area. But more recent reports are that the premium people get moved to the front of the stage.

But this picture above is making me second guess if it's always broadcasted on the big screens?

Sorry forgot to answer this second question.

Yes!! The sing-along is great. We are very active in our local community theater, and I was in awe with the technical aspects of the production. The lighting, smoke effects, etc. wowed me. The historians will look familiar to you if you've been to HDDMV. They were so funny. I found myself watching them during the singing instead of the words on the sides or the screen in front. There isn't very much of Anna or Elsa. Anna is seen at the beginning and end of the show and Elsa only at the end. Kristoff is on stage more than them, and he steals the show!

I've seen the sing-along four times. The historians have mixed up the jokes a bit. In fact, the last time I saw it was almost like seeing it for the first time in forever. Yea...I went there. But seriously, they keep it fresh it doesn't get stale.

My only gripe about the show, is that the Fixer Upper song didn't make the cut.

Question!

Another thread suggested that there are Magic Shots for Frozen, but I thought they were Aurasma shots...? Are there both? This will impact my decision to get a MM package, so if anyone knows I would be grateful.

Hey gules, lovethattink posted her Aurasma photos a few posts up from here. Buried in the Thread is a list of all the Magic Shot locations. The poster said she had to ask PPs for the Magic Shots. lovethattink probably knows where the Magic Shots can be taken.

ETA: Search Magic Shot for the Thread - Anna and Elsa Magic Shot is at the Bridge in Funland! :)

There are both! Inside Oaken's there is a scene shot at a bridge that adds Anna and Elsa. Also outside Oaken's where the Fett's stand for SWW there is an Olaf magic shot. The 3rd one is near the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Also, you can ask photopass photographers if they are trained in Frozen magic shots. We found only one who was, and she did an Olaf one and a snow magic one.

Page 72 of this thread, midway down are the aurasma app pics. In my TR there is a link in the index to the magic shots.

Okay. I was so confused because I didn't know there were BOTH available. Haha. Thank you for the clarification. I think I'll end up with a Memory Maker now. :rotfl:

It was well worth it for my niece and I. Between the magic shots and ice skating photo pass photographers I was really glad we got it! They don't always have someone at ice skating. If they do they were typically standing on the back side of the rink. You may have to ask them to take the pictures, so they know you want them. Sergio was super nice.

You may want to go back to the Memory Maker thread and reconfirm what was posted there and here that Magic Shots and Aurasma are both available at DHS. :)

Just saw it. Thank you so much. <3

You're welcome!:) I wasn't sure if the posts there had been confusing. The Aurasma photos at SWW were so much fun - I love the technology! Have fun at Frozen!

Both are available, but ONLY the magic shots will go on your Memory Maker. Aurasma is for you own personal phone pictures. I guess I didn't understand your question?

MM was included free with our Annual Passholder room only reservation. That was the first time I ever used MM. There are certain things I like better about MM and other things I like better about the Photopass Pre-Puchase Archive Disc that is $119. We had always done a disc prepurchase, but then you have to wait until after the vacation to use them. With the MM you can download pictures throughout and after your trip!

We probably won't buy MM, but really liked having it included for free. The archive disc is probably what we'll use next time we do pictures again.

I must have misunderstood the original question. Aurasma pictures are NOT included on the Memory Maker. Magic shot pictures are. But the aurasma pics are free and you download them to your phone after you take a picture.
