**Official Frozen Sing-Along, Oaken's, Holiday Premium Package Tips, updated 1/5/15

Following thread.... We just got the premium package for sept and trying to find out if it's really worth the extra money or if I should cancel it.
Thanks!

That's up to you. We were able to eat enough to pay for 1 and a half people of the 3 of us back when it was $59 person. Now it would be $30 more. But I think more than just food needs to be factored in for the value.

It is possible to have an awesome day, not do the package, and have better viewing for the parade with less wait, a seat for the singalong but not front and center, and view the fireworks (though it will be more crowded outside the package viewing area).

Now that this has been going on for a while now, I was just curious about how many people have been bringing their own skates for the ice skating.

My kids keep going back and forth as to whether they want to skate. It's no big deal for me to bring them because I know they won't skate without them. They just may not want to skate if they are the only ones not in rentals.

I've only seen a few bring their own skates. How would they do in hockey skates? The rentals are hockey skates.

Unfortunately, my travel agent confirmed this a.m. that the packages were sold out. I'm hoping they open up the week days since there is an obvious demand!

I'm not surprised. It was only 12 days added. Keep trying for cancellations.

My apologies in advance as I have not read all 100+ pages of this thread. On the first post there is mention of an App and some special photos that can be taken. Can anyone provide further information on this? We will not have Memory Maker and do not plan to purchase any Disney photos so I am wondering if it is something different.

In addition to the info on the first post, here is a link to Aurasma http://www.aurasma.com/campaigns/disney-frozen-summer-fun/

I posted pictures back on page 72 post #1075 http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=51860924&postcount=1075

Directions on how to use the app:

You do not need memory maker for the Aurasma APP, but you do need to download the app first. There are 3 photo ops, plus the guide map. Two are inside Oaken's Funland, on either side of the bridge photopass magic shot. The one to the left of the bridge is a picture with the trolls, and the one to the right is with Sven. Outside the exit of the Funland is another Aurasma backdrop, this one has Olaf.

I have tried skimming over the thread so I apologize if there are any posts on this..but I am very interested in fireworks viewing locations outside Hollywood Studios. I have seen Robo's map but I am not very familiar with the Studios at all. Is there a thread about viewing the fireworks outside the park or anyone who has advice on a great viewing location with benches and audio???

There is no audio piped outside of the parks.

From the locations on Robo's map, it looks like its on the path between Boardwalk/Epcot & HS, and I don't remember any benches there. There are lots of trees on the path so if you sat down they might obstruct your view.

I'm looking for opinions- is it worth hopping over to DHS in the evening for the Frozen fireworks (our DD's are fans)? The only frozen fireworks day during our trip is 9/21 and we have BBB and CRT over at MK along with hard-to-get FP+... can't move those, so our only option for fireworks would be to hop over to HS for the evening. We would not get there until about 6pm. I guess what I'm asking is whether the fireworks are good enough (without premium seating) to hop over to DHS for the evening. We had an 'ohana dinner we'd have to cancel in order to do the fireworks (swap leisurely evening for craziness???). We'll be at DHS another day and can work in the other activities then, but no fireworks... Thanks for any opinions from those that have seen the fireworks!

That's correct. No benches along the walkway to BWI. Near the Bus Loading area, there may be planters where you may be able to lean against or sit. There have been firework videos taken from the Beach Club where you may be able to find seating.

No audio piped outside of DHS because having a fireworks show has never been a usual occurrence for DHS.

Same boat here....I purchased the package for myself, DH, & DD(4). While she LOVES A&E, she also LOVES Mickey Sorcerer. I'm now finding myself wondering if I may not want to cxl the Frozen Premium Package just so we can view Fantasmic! At least we will be able to see and participate in most of the other Frozen fun offerings, just not the dessert party and fireworks if I cxl the package. Golly...they could have or should have timed this a little better so we wouldn't have to choose!

Keep checking on the Fantasmic scheduling before you cancel your package. During SWW, there were always 2 Fants each night. Because DHS park hours were extended just recently for the FROZEN September weekends, the Fant schedule may still change. DD is a Fant performer and changes have yet to be made to the scheduling for them.

During the regular year, if DHS extends hours, a Fant gets added. DHS should be adjusting the schedule because fireworks have never interfered with Fant... show scheduling has priority with fireworks beginning a few minutes after the show unloads.

You might be able to get tickets at 6pm for the 7pm singalong show. Then take in the singalong and the fireworks. That would definitely be worth it.

But thinking of just fireworks vs Ohana, that's a hard decision. The fireworks last 10 minutes.

When I saw the fireworks the other night, everyone in front of the Idol screen sat. If that trend (sitting on the ground) continues, the best place to sit would be between Idol and the stage where you can see either the Idol screen or the stage. There is a great view of the fireworks from there.

And if memory serves me correctly, the F! schedule didn't change til a couple weeks before the month started?

I didn't know she did F! too.

That sounds correct. Entertainment CMs know their schedule 2 weeks in advance so DHS still has time to figure out the Fant schedule.

DD has been good friends with Minnie in Fant and Dream Along, but, during SWW her Padawan and Jawa friends were her BFFs.

Cool, I either did not know, or didn't remember about the ::MinnieMo

I saw a fb friend posted pictures of the Frozen Fireworks from Epcot. They were standing in China and viewing the fireworks across the lagoon.

The only time we saw the fireworks outside of DHS was unplanned.

We saw the Frozen fireworks while we were at the Publix in Celebration. Could see pretty good. They just looked very small.

Also watched them from the Ferry from MK to TTC. Mostly just saw smoke.

Way back when, on our first trip together for dh and I, we stayed at the Beach Club and there were regular fireworks at MGM Studios. We watched them from a chair on the beach. The next time we stayed at the Beach Club, they were building the Boardwalk and I think they still had fireworks, but I'm not sure. But with the construction, there would have been no way to see.

Every time we walk to or from Epcot to Beaches and Cream, dh always remarks about how we watched the fireworks at the studios from there.

What a nice memory! No fireworks in DHS when we were there almost 20 years ago... the first time I saw fireworks was for SWW in June. :)

Arriving at 10:30 will put you in the back of parade viewing. People begin lining up for entry for package registration before 10am. Snacks stop promptly at parade start.

When we were there last week they continued serving snacks through the end of the parade. When Anna and Elsa went on stage and they opened the ropes for the premium package folks to move up to the stage I stayed back. I went over to the cart to ask him how much longer he would be there. He said he would be closed by the end of the stage show. I went ahead and got a Mickey bar and a couple more waters. They were out of the frozen lemonade cups at that point.

More good changes! I'm glad.

By 11am on July 5 and 14th they were starting to pack up the ice cream. By the time the rope dropped, non-package guests had entered the package area.

My niece and I were there this past week. We did not have the package, and for the most part it was total fine. We had great seats for the sing along. The parade was really the only thing that was less than awesome, and it was fine. For the fireworks, we were on Hollywood blvd. to start with, at the very back of the taped off section in front of the hat. (Right next to the snack bar stand.) It was really great to be just the two of us most of the time, but sometimes it's do hard!
That night was one. She was thirsty but we didn't wasn't to lose our spot. I decided I could see her from the line as long as I stretched out and kept my foot in line. A cast member came by to make the line move more over to the side. I explained why I was leaning out and he was find with it. After a minute he went to check on her. I thought it was so comforting to know that there were more eyes on her than just mine.
After I got our drinks, I saw him and jokingly asked if she was causing a ruckus. He smiled and said yep, we have to kick you guys out. At that point we were next to her and he said, gather all your things. I thought he was teasing still. He said it again, and said we weren't kicked out but that we needed to move to a different spot. He took us around to a roped off area to the left of the stage. It was so nice. She was able to lay down and watch everything. I'm still so thankful to the magic he brought to our frozen day.

On another note, we LOVED the ice skating! We actually skated 3 days in a row because Caitlyn loved it so much. She recommends buying or bringing gloves. :) Their was a photo pass photographer taking pictures of the skating 2 out of our 3 sessions. We had memory maker so that was awesome. You can't bring a camera on the ice, so or was great to be able to have good shots of her. Also, since it was just the two of us, we got to have skating pictures together. Oaken's wandering trading post and Funland would be a great thing to keep around!
And finally, I loved the Olaf cupcake. I could have eaten one every day! And now that I'm typing this , and we are no longer at Disney, I wish I could have another one!

Tip of the day:

When you enter DHS be sure to pick up a FSF Guidemap, a FSF Times Guide, and a Take-along Olaf.

The guidemap works with the Aurasma App. It's not as long or informative as the SWW guidemap was, but it's pretty cool how it works.

It shows the take-along Olaf pick up spots, where special Frozen food and beverage locations are, Frozen Photo Opportunities, Merchandise, Entertainment, location of Oaken's and the Premiere Theater, and the parade route.

The times guide has a snow flake asterisk by the Frozen times.

Except for the parade, it sounds like you had a most excellent day! Warms my heart to hear about the cm and the fireworks!

What about the parade didn't you like?

I have never seen a photopass photographer at the ice. That's great that you got pictures taken there!

I agree, I'd love for those to stay.

I haven't tried the Olaf cupcake. Do you know if there are nuts in it? It looks so cute and tasty. I love creamcheese frosting, just have to stay away from tree nuts.

Thank you SO MUCH for the pictures! They're really helpful in trying to work fitting all this into my plans!

You're welcome. I have so many pictures of FSF, we've been going weekly. If there's something in particular you want to see. Just ask. If I don't have it, I'm sure someone else does.
