***Official February 2017 Thread***

Glad I found this thread! I've just been planning and planning with no place to share my excitement.

Reservations are all set POR from 2/2-2/8, flight is booked (yes its very early-ha!), ADRs are just waiting to get made! I'll be going with a good friend and we will be celebrating it as a Bachelorette Disney Trip since she is getting married later in the year.

WELCOME! I will add you to the roll call.

About a week away from my ADRs. Been finalizing our itinerary and list and trying to remind myself that I can change them later. Ha! The PRESSURE!!!

We HAVE to do Sci-Fi Drive In and one or two or more character meals. What are on your MUST DO Lists??

We definitely want to get to Tiffins and Skipper's Canteem this trip. What new restaurants are you looking forward to checking out?

8/8 is my ADR date and I don't even have a resort reservation yet because I'm holding out to see what discounts come out for February (and still debating between the familiar comforts of POFQ and the $$$-saving uncertainties of trying POP).

I always have to do my Via Napoli Pizza Night, and I really want to do another lunch at Brown Derby and another early breakfast at the Wave. And Josh's recent review on EasyWDW has me thinking I want to try lunch at Tiffins (I like the "pick two" lunch menu). Every year I go somewhere for a filet mignon, and I'm planning to try Jiko for the first time this year for my "steak night."

I had lunch at Skipper Canteen this year and it was pretty good - not on a must-do list, but I'd go back sometime. i actually liked the bread/honey dip, which I know hasn't been universally popular. I had the arepas appetizer for my lunch - not sure I'm an arepas fan, but the meat was really good. Kungaloosh was good (hard to go wrong with that!).

I'm debating what ADRs, if any, I need to go ahead and book before I have my resort ressie. I'm solo, and not going for anything super-hard to get (CRT, PPO park breakfasts, etc), so I'm not in a panic. I guess I really need to start getting serious about picking park days so I know where i'll be!

*strikes up the orchestra* Be Our Guest! Be Our Guest! We'll put their service to the test!! Well, DSis and I will anyway. Beast is the last character on my "wanted to meet as a kid" bucket list plus the movie is my favorite; tissues are already packed for tearing up. I'd also love if we can all agree to try Garden Grill for lunch (gotta see my Disney boyfriend somehow). A PPO at Crystal Palace is the only must have so far, but the camping couple are back and better be ready to have some specifics squeezed out of them.

Is Skipper Canteen that new one in Adventureland which isn't taking reservations?

Crystal Palace PPO, Yak & Yeti, BOG (I've had lunch & dinner there but we're traveling with family who has never been, so it's a must-do), and an 'Ohana breakfast on our departure day are my top wishes. Waiting til 8/20 is making me crazy!

We just made our DVC reservations for the first part of our trip, will make the other half next week!

We are going from Feb. 26- Mar. 8

4 nights at AKL Kidani
3 nights at Shades of Green
3 nights at Beach Club Villas (if it's still available next week)

Current plan is DVC rental for BCV 2/18-2/22 (already rented) then either rental or RO for OKW 2/22-2/26. Just sent the David's rental calculator to our friends... trying to convince them that the cost difference in a 2bd OKW and any of the other 2bd is really not that much (esp bc they're splitting it with 2 grandmas) - really really really hoping they'll go for BWV or WLV, but one of the grandmas is a TA and I'm not sure how important her "cut" is...it's only about $100 more for us in a studio and would get us 3 sleeping surfaces instead of 2. I can dream, at least...

Under 200 days now; 198 days, 8 hours, 8 minutes and counting !!!!
This is about the point in my trip planning when I start to annoy my wife a little bit, because I'm constantly reminding her how close we are getting to our trip. Every major milestone, like under 200 days, gets a mention by me. We're taking three days to drive down this year, so every Saturday, I'll say "in X weeks, we'll be on the road to Cincinnati". On Sunday, it's "in X weeks, we'll be heading to Valdosta". On Monday, "in X weeks, we'll be on our way to Orlando!". Then Tuesday morning, "in X weeks, we'll be waking up in Orlando!" I'll remind her Tuesday night that "in X weeks, we'll have ridden The Peoplemover (her favorite ride) 3 times already." And so on, and so on. Don't get me wrong, she loves WDW every bit as much as I do. I just tend to get a little obsessive (and yeah, annoying) when it comes to the reminders.

My father is worse. He's already been saying, "x months from now, we'll be BACK from Disney World!" I definitely don't want to know that number!! :crazy2:

I forgot to add that we will be celebrating our 15 year anniversary on this trip :) After much hemming and hawing, I have decided on San Angel Inn for our anniversary night dinner. I know that sounds like a weird place for an anniversary dinner... but Mexico has been my absolute favorite place in the World since I was a little girl. I thought about CRT and some of the fancier places, but deep down, there is no place I would rather be on my 15 year anniversary than (if I can get it) a table overlooking the river ride in Mexico :)

Not weird at all! I'll be celebrating my 40th birthday while in WDW next February, and that was on my short list of places to have my birthday dinner. Instead I think we'll have a meal at Splitsville, and maybe shoot some pool there after we eat. (We like to bowl, but my wife has a balky shoulder that would prevent her from bowling for an hour straight.) After dinner we'll go to Ghiradelli for dessert! That's definitely not signature dining, but it fits us to a "T", just like it sounds like your choice fits you perfectly!

Congrats! And not weird at all. One of my faves!!!

BOG is on the list, too. We went last trip. The Beast is awesome!

And yes, Skipper is the new one. But I thought they were taking ADRs now? Doesn't matter still on the list!

Are they? Drat. I kind of liked the idea of a few places being walk up for day-of guests. Unless several of the TS places are going to leave some room open each day (which makes no sense business wise so of course I understand why they don't do it), it just seemed like a refreshing change of pace.

Beast being awesome is great to hear! Two adult women walking up, one wanting an autograph... the other just wanting a picture and some interaction (that would be me).... I'm so afraid it would just be "stand there, picture, byebye." Even though this has not been the case for any M&G ever with just DSis and me. Anticipation, you know? You have the chance to dream up an occasion for almost 20 years..... That or watch he'll "be ill" the night we attend.

Saving this post for Roll Call! Tell us your dates and/or resort and we'll add you to the list!

I'll be turning 40 on our trip there on Jan 30 (not sure if a happy or sad face goes there?) we've got v&a rese in the Queen v room for the evening before and bog for the big night. Hoping there will be a msep that night, but remains to be seen

Have a September 2016 trip planned but just found out, if we delay to February, more family can come along. We're be there Feb 25-Mar 2 @ CSR.

In the mist of planning...I have never been in Feburary...we usually do fall and we went in May last year...is the weather usually good?

We've been the last week of February the past 2 trips and the weather is always pleasant. Not too much rain, temps in the 70s for most of the week, and a nice breeze.
