Joining in!

Just booked the flight, so now I can officially say DH and I are going to AKL for a couples only trip!!

Very excited to return to AKL (we were at Kidani last time) because we were lucky enough to get a Club Level studio. (I cannot tell you how miffed DD16 is that we are doing this sans kids. But I'm okay with that. Disappointment builds character, right?!? :rolleyes1)

I am late making my ADRs, so I'm still working on that. I'll read through the previous posts now and see what everyone else is up to!
:surfweb:

So excited! We booked our feb 1-7 trip today! Staying at carribbean beach resort with my DH, DS5 and DD who will be 10 months. Even getting grandma in on the action! I've been to WDW 3 times, but it's a first for DH, DS and DD (obviously).

Let the countdown begin!!

I received my welcome book and planning book in the mail yesterday. It even states I have a Birthday while I am there! It must be in the demographics as I have not told any of my ADR or BWV it is my Birthday week. But so much fun getting things from Disney along the way!

Got mine a few weeks ago. I will also be celebrating my birthday while I am visiting there. Already told they will have a pin for me for my birthday when I arrive at the desk.

Just booked Feb 21-28 at POR. Our second visit to WDW and our first with our new baby, who will be 1 at that time. Wondering if we are crazy for traveling with a baby (along with our two other children), but REALLY need a vacation. Feb can't get here soon enough!

We did our February trip last year with a 7 year old, 4 year old, and a 10 month old. We also stayed at POR. We had a fabulous time. The baby is a very relaxed baby. He was honestly the easiest of all the kids. I used a Beco Butterfly II carrier for him and it worked perfectly.

Remember when you are making your FP+ reservations that you will be doing stroller swap. So, you can basically get double FP+ reservations. Just book you (and any kids that want to ride) on one ride and then get the stroller swap for your spouse. Then get a FP+ for your spouse on another ride and do stroller swap again. It really worked out well for us last year.

Great tip re: stroller swap! So you just talk to the CM at the ride and they give you a slip or something? (First timers here... With a baby and a 5 year old!)

Yes. You talk to the CM at the start of the standby line for the ride. They give you a piece of paper that will let 3 (maybe 4?) people come back to ride at any point later that day. You can only do this on rides that the whole family can't ride. So, if you want a FP+ for Peter Pan, you need to get one for everyone in the family (excluding the baby -s/he is invisible in the parks). If you are getting a FP+ for the Mine Train, do it for one parent and the 5 year old (if s/he is tall enough to ride). Then you get the stroller swap for the other parent. You can come back later and the child can ride again. It also doesn't matter who uses the stroller swap. So, if your spouse loves the big coasters and you don't, you can get one FP+ and then get a stroller swap and he can ride twice.

Great tip! I would never have thought of this. Thanks!

I'll be taking my DS12 and DD7 down to visit my Dad from the 9th-15th along with their first ever trip to WDW. My DD is so pumped, all she can talk about is going to see Elsa and Anna and ride The Little Mermaid. With how many times I have been there over the years(I used to live in FL and my mother was a CM), I am more excited now than I ever was. I feel like a little kid again :cool1:

Hi, Anyone running the races in Feb? I am booked for a week with hubby, but he may or may not be able to make it. Won't know for a while, but just wanted a heads up if anyone else was around to have a meal with or go to the races? :)

Ok everyone I am watching the ride closures list like a hawk. So far it doesn't seem like they have released the list of rides that should be scheduled for refurbishment in January/February. This will be our first time to WDW in February. Are there any rides we should expect to be closed (like Splash)?

I don't know about rides, but I did read last night that the Harmony Barber Shop will be closed all of February.

Two weeks out from finding out whether S/P/D or a similar discount will be available! :hyper:

Have a great bday! I am so looking forward to this. I have never that I can remember taken my birthday off from work.

How cool they will have your birthday pin waiting for you upon check in!

:cool1:

Ok everyone, I was watching ride closures closely and they finally released what looks to be the complete list! The two I was particularly concerned with were:

Kali - Closed Jan 20th - Feb 4th
Splash - Closed Jan 4th - Jan 30th

This is good news for us February travelers.

Thanks so much and same to you! Yeah, I am looking forward to this. Each time I have called Disney and one of their agents ask "what are you celebrating", I tell a belated birthday and they usually go wild and say Happy early Birthday :cool1: Kind of cool, I have to admit. The one Disney agent said, if they forget your birthday pin, make sure you remind them. Happy early Birthday wishes to you Nancy...

So how long will you be staying at Disney during your trip? Are you counting the hours and days, yet lol

Thanks Dave! I will be there from 1/30 and leave 2/6. Yes I am counting the days! One thing I am hoping for is that my NFL team will make it to the Super Bowl as I have made VIP reservations for the game at the ESPN Zone! Lots still to plan and dream about!
