*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

WHAT??!! That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Those are my son's most favorite treats when we go to Europe. Guess you learn something new every day!

Come on up to Canada, totally legal here! :thumbsup2

Jasy I will look for you at Dapper Days…do you have a sneak preview of your outfit? I am assuming form your comments that you made it!?

I did make it!

I don't have a picture of the dress I plan to wear but it's marvel superhero fabric (iron man, wolverine, captain america, thor, etc). Fitted bodice and a full skirt, I'll likely bring a petticoat to wear with it along with a red patent belt.

If you see me, feel free to say "hi!"

Speaking of packing.

I have been all over the CBSA/TSA websites and have not found a definitive answer.

Travelling from Edmonton (YEG) to Los Angeles (LAX), so it is international flight, and I am wondering if I can pack some cereal bars (the Heinz ones) that my DD loves to have for breakfast along with her milk/juice et al.

Some spots said it can be in carry on (which would be nice for flight down), others say in checked baggage, and well there was another spot that said that items like cereal/granola bars are forbotten.

Anyone know for sure what the story is?

I've never heard this but I can tell you that I always pack a couple granola bars in my carry on to snack on and I've never had an issue.

I found this:

http://travel.gc.ca/travelling/air/what-to-pack

And if you type in granola bars it says they are ok to take with you!

Same with the US website:

http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items

Well, slight change in our plans. Due to the amount of closures at DL, DH & I have decided to change our trip and go to WDW instead. Same time spent there. So I'll be checking out of this thread.

Everyone enjoy your vacations. :thumbsup2

Have a great time in WDW!!! We chose FEB due to best time for our family, not interfere with sports and my work has set weeks for vacation-just worked best this year. Never been in Feb. Only bum deal for us will be castle (can always get over any ride closures) However that said we are getting VERY VERY excited for our upcoming trip & feel very blessed to have extra time to spend in San Diego as well. I know we will have a blast! :wizard:

Headed to store today to pick up some essentials-LOL

Hello!! Just joining the discussion!

I am surprising my friend with a one day to Disneyland. We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn for one night! (which is okay because my family is taking a trip a month later so this will just whet my appetite). :woohoo::banana:

My questions:

Has anyone stayed at the Candy Cane Inn? Ive heard good things and when i called to ask if they had something to put in the room as a surprise for my friend, they said they would include a complimentary gift basket (how nice!!).

I am surprising her by driving her from my home to anaheim. I told her we are just taking a fun trip. I want to surprise her on the drive. Ive heard of gift baskets, but has anyone surprised an adult and how did you do it? I want to do it on the way there, maybe 2 or 3 hours into our 5 hour drive. We are both mid twenties.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Welcome to the thread! :welcome:

What a lovely idea to surprise your friend like this, I would LOVE to have such a surprise!

What about wrapping up little $ store gifts and giving her one every hour or a few at once 2 hours into the drive?

Maybe include an autograph book, oversized pen for signatures or even just a Disney T-shirt!

I've never stayed at the Candy Cane Inn but I have heard lots of nice things about it.

If you want me to add you info to the first post, please let me know your trip dates.

Hi! Thanks for the ideas. Yes please add me. It is just one day, Feb 26th so autograph/pen wont be used, but she might come with us in September so then I plan to give her an autograph book.

Maybe make a pit stop & get your nails done together (Disney Theme of course)

We are heading over from Phoenix Feb 4-8 staying at DLH. Whole we've been to disneyland many times since (last trip was in October), we haven't stayed at DLH since our honeymoon in 1999 when DCA was first under construction abs downtown disney didn't exist. We were awakened every morning by the sound of chainsaws and falling palm trees. This will be a first for our kids. So excited...20 days away.

What a coincidence, we stayed at the DLH on our honeymoon in 1999 as well!

We got married in July but because DH was on his officer basic training at the time, our honeymoon was delayed until the end of August.

Edited to add: I added you to the first post, welcome to the thread!

Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought our parkhoppers today! Even with our crappy exchange rate, it was still a better deal to get them from Orbitz by going through ebates.ca since they are offering 7.5% cash back for activities.

I've now pre-paid for our flights, hotel and parkhoppers so the only out of pocket money we will spend will be in the parks!

23 days to go and counting!
