*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

Yay!!! It's official!! Fiancé just booked DLH and had them note on reservation it's our honeymoon & first visit! :)

I am getting nervous. We really want our son to be walking (fairly well) by our trip. The idea of him crawling on the hotel floor or in the parks is just disgusting to me. Plus, we don't want to have to carry him constantly in all of the lines. Well, the trip is less than 3 months away and he still hasn't started walking. Eek!

Our daughter will be 13 months when we go. She's crawling and walking around furniture at the moment. We're not stressing about if she'll be walking or not. We'll use a stroller, give her some floor time where/when we can and just take it as it comes. Coming from Australia isn't cheap, so it's not worth us worrying about things out of our control.

For those of you with little ones, make sure you check out the baby centres. It's a great place to feed and change your baby and you can also let them crawl around for a while.

We purposely planned this trip at an age we figured he'd be walking. And we have back up dates booked in April in case we decide to push it back a bit. So we shall see. We knew he'd hit this milestone on the later end like all of his others because of a condition he was diagnosed with as a newborn. His physical therapist told us February would be a fairly safe bet for us to plan our trip but we figured we'd book April dates to cover our bases too.

Im sure you'll have a great trip regardless of when you go :)

This will be our first trip with our daughter so I'm interested to see how it will be visiting the parks with a little one.

Great tip! Thank you. Question...... do I need to bring a change table mat or is there paper towel or something to line it. Just trying to work out an easy baby list of things I'll need to take into the parks.

I'm not sure, we didn't take our son until he was 6 years old! The baby centre tip is one that I have read here a lot.

But, if you have a stroller why not bring a changing mat just in case? They don't weigh a lot or take up a ton of room, at least I don't remember them being big and bulky.

I use these for public changing tables....it's nice to be able to throw them away and not have to put them back in my bag. They take up barely any space in the bag too, which is nice. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005X0U43K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=32LK6S6T1JU7X&coliid=IUK6BJ45VF98X&psc=1 We also bring disposable bibs for eating at restaurants and stuff. So we'll be doing that for Disneyland too.

Thanks! I have disposable change mats so I might bring those. Love the bibs tip too. Have you seen and do you think it's necessary, to use disposable placemats? I saw this tip on a website for going to disneyland with babies. Neat Solutions have cute disney ones.

We do use them when we go to restaurants now (our son is almost 14 months old) because he still isn't good with plates. So he just eats his food (with his fingers) off of the placemat. It's better than having to thoroughly clean the table off for him. And cleaning up after is easy too. They just stick to the table and we peel them off when he's done. If he's still not good with plates in 2 months, we'll be bringing some to Disneyland.

We're officially booked at Motel 6 for a long weekend, 2/6 - 2/9! So excited!!!

We had the reusable one for my kids and didn't even see the disposable ones until after they didn't need them.I remember thinking they would be perfect for travel!

My tip for the baby center- there are lots of Dads in there. Enough that my husband and I struck a deal, Baby Center = dad changes diaper, anywhere else= I would do it. Both babies somehow were always in need of changes when we were close to the Baby Center! :lmao:

I don't know about anyone else but it is getting harder and harder to keep this trip a secret! I know our son really wants to go back, he even has a separate piggy bank specifically for Disneyland but we don't want to tell him too early. We did that once and it was 4 months of "when are we leaving? Is it time for Disney yet? How much longer? Today? Now?" :rotfl:

I want to tell him on Christmas, has anyone else surprised their kids on Christmas with a trip announcement and if yes, how did you do it?

Our son is too young to even know what a vacation or Disneyland is. But when he's older...I don't think I could keep it a secret so I won't even attempt that. I love talking about our upcoming trip way too much.

Me too! I get too excited! If I could do the surprise route, I'd get a few Disney balloons the day before and wrap them in a box so they'd float up when opened.

I did years ago with my three kids. I bought & wrapped one of their favorite board games. I made them open it together on the couch. Taped to the board game was a note saying they were going to Universal (Orlando) and staying at HRH. It was too cute!

I didn't tell my DD on Christmas, but I did tell her on her birthday at her party. :scared: Won't do that again! We had a little birthday guest who proceeded to plug her ears and scream any time anyone said anything about Disney, after crawling up on her mom's lap and bawling for 10 minutes. Considering they both loved princesses, Tangled was their favorite movie, etc., that was a long, long sleepover that night!

At any rate, we had 3 gift bags, each containing something for the trip: a pair of Mickey ears, a Mickey and Minnie gift card, and the airline tickets. Before she opened them, I told her I found a letter at work with her name on it. The letter, paraphrased, said, "You'll need airplane tickets, a gift card for spending money, and Mickey ears so the pilot knows where to go. When you have these things, you'll be ready to go to Disneyland!" So, she read the letter, then opened the presents. Then, she didn't believe it. In fact, she didn't believe it for several minutes!
