*****Official February 2015 Thread! Come check in and chat!*****

As for transportation, we used to take a shuttle but the last 3 trips we have just grabbed a taxi. For the 3 of us it is only $15 more each way and it is so much faster and easier!

For the NINE(!!!) of us, that would be a bit more difficult! :)

We're between the shuttle and just renting cars - with 9, its pretty close in price, but then you have to pay parking, plus do your own driving...

Nine? Yikes.

What about the disneyland bus?

Missed a few days of pages!

For those who have been before: What are some of your top tips or secrets you want to share?

Pressed pennies! My DD10 couldn't have cared less about these, until we went to DL.... Now, she loves them, and gets them after rides that have them (ToT and HM are two), along with the others scattered around the parks. To make carrying all that change easier, layer 2 quarters and a penny, over and over again, in a mini M&Ms container. Make sure to do a few with extra quarters and dimes, as there are a few pressed dime machines.

There is one bar that is adults only after 8:00 pm but I *think* you can still sit on the patio with kids but for the life of me I can't remember where it is.

Not sure if anyone already answered this... You're thinking of Trader Sam's, and, yes, you can have your kids with you on the patio, enjoying the music after 8pm. Go through DTD, and follow the signs. And make sure to have a fun drink. Do be forewarned, the drinks can be strong--it was enough to make me pretty tipsy!

My tip is make time for the flag retreat ceremony. It happens before sunset, maybe 4:30 at Town Square (right inside the park past the train station). It is so simple yet beautiful.

I totally agree! It's a can't miss. Brings me to tears every time, and I'm usually not that sappy.

Remember that the Disneyland Resort Express does 3 kids free for every paying adult. They aren't my favorite company, but with 9 people, this may cut costs a bit.

We are a party of seven and find that renting a limo is the most affordable and convenient option.

We're in for Feb 18-20. We arrive from Chicago (hoping no major flight issues!) on Feb 12, do some travels, then end at DL. We always stay at Ramada Maingate!

Welcome to the thread! I'm on my phone right now but will add you to the list in the morning!

For transportation, we're 6 adults and 3 kids. For 6 adults on the Disneyland Express, its $105 each way (6 x $17.50). The shuttle is $72 each way, and is private with a set time for pickup each way. We're gonna give PrimeTime a try this trip. They seat exactly 9 with 5 checked bags plus carryons. Thank goodness we have three rooms at the hotel!! :duck:

Almost forgot, but I've added you to the first post! :thumbsup2

I am getting nervous. We really want our son to be walking (fairly well) by our trip. The idea of him crawling on the hotel floor or in the parks is just disgusting to me. Plus, we don't want to have to carry him constantly in all of the lines.

Well, the trip is less than 3 months away and he still hasn't started walking. Eek!

Hmm...less than 3 months away and he is not yet walking? I don't want to be the one to crush your dreams but if he starts walking tomorrow, he will likely not be walking well by the time you go. Although some kids (mine included) just stand up one day and walk like they have been doing it for months!

I agree you will holding him a ton and I would plan to use a stroller too. Bring a big blanket to lay on the floor with toys if you don't like the idea of the carpet? I plan to mostly carry my 3 year old.

We went to the park with my niece who was 16 months and walking. She stood in the queue most of the time and we took turns holding her briefly. Through the park, she was in a stroller. I had planned to do this with our son.

Right now he cruises along the furniture and will walk with us holding his hand. He's just a bit too cautious to take steps on his own.

Thankfully even now he would probably be able to stand in line with us holding his hand so in 3 months, it would be even easier. And here's hoping for short lines!

My son was 13 months and not quite walking on one trip. Honestly, it was hard. He obviously can't crawl much in the parks and he didn't want to be held, Ergoed, or in the stroller. It is a good thing we are Disney nuts! He was happiest crawling around the Main St Cinema and in the animation academy. He also liked the little play area in Toontown. None of these compared to the fun that was the hotel curtains, lol. He started cruising at like 9 months, just wouldn't take a step alone. He started walking like a week after we got back.

Bugs Land is going to be perfect for him! If it is warm enough, there is the splash area there as well!

My son walked at 9 months, our first trip to the parks he was 2 1/2 and I still had to hold him in the line queues. I'd rather hold a 1 yr old than an almost 3 year old in line any day.

Blech on the splash area. Those are gross and I don't want him walking around in wet clothes anyway. Yeah, I'm a dud. Haha!

Well, technically you didn't HAVE to hold him. Plenty of toddlers/small children walk in the queues.

I am pretty weak, he is fairly heavy (25 pounds), and cannot hold him for extended lengths of time. So I need the option of setting him down periodically.

Do you think he will stay in the queue? My son never would have but my daughter totally would, so it depends a lot on the child. I mean, yes, I could have gotten my son to stay there.... but that would not have been great for anyone to have a screaming wriggling toddler around. So, for us, the Ergo was perfect for lines. Not trying to scare you, just giving you somethings to consider before you are thrust into it! Like I said, there are places to let him blow off steam like the Animation Studios and the Cinema. We went with those places in mind in case we needed them... and we did. We spent like an hour in each place!

I cannot imagine putting my son in the Ergo at this age. He didn't want anything to do with it when he was just a few months old. It's hard to say if he'll stay in line or not. We won't know until we get there, obviously. I'm just going to hope for the best. And thank God my husband's arm injuries from this Summer are healing well and he can finally lift/hold our son again!
