Official DL July 2015 thread

We will be in Disneyland 7/6-7/12 and are "biting the bullet" by staying at the DLH. We actually arrive in California on 7/2 but will be spending the first few days of the trip in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. It's the first visit for my kids! I, on the other hand, have been to DL twice before in the early 90's. These were just day trips and, obviously, before DCA. Essentially, I'm kind of counting this as my "first" time too! We are on the East coast so we are WDW vets. (I have probably already posted this info but I am too lazy to read through the thread to check!)

My family of 4 will be at Disneyland 7/12 - 7/17. We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn. I've never stayed there before, but always thought it looked charming when we passed by it when I was a child. My parents will also be joining us for 3 days or so, which is going to be a surprise for my kiddos. The other fun thing is we will be there over my birthday (7/14). It is looking to be a fantastic trip! We did WDW two summers ago and thought it was time for a trip back to Disneyland. This will be our first time back in 6 years and the kids don't remember much from our first trip. They are 10 & 9 now so we should be in for a great time!

We'll just miss you. We arrive the day after you leave. CCI is our go to place to stay at DLR. We've stayed there at least 6 or 7 times. I've lost track. But since we went to WDW last summer it has been two years since we've been.

Alicat, I am at your beck and call for assisting if you need any help, just message me!
Sweet!! Well, I'm very overtired because I can't breathe through my nose, and I can't take my allergy meds when I'm pregnant. If you could come help me catch up on some laundry and floor scrubbing, that would be great. I also have some grading to do-how do you feel about 6th grade literary essays? ;) ;)

Sorry-I've been gone because I'm passing out accidentally on the couch every night between 7:30 and 8:30. Changing the thread title now!

whoops-guess it was already changed! Does dis do that automatically???
Anyway, getting ready for work now. I can definitely post my height requirement info later.

Maybe you changed it in your sleep. Or, instead of tag fairies, maybe this new board has title fairies. :)

Thanks Alicat, I am keeping an eye for DLR 60 news that relates to July visits. I do know that for the most of July expect crowds to be 6 to 7 out of 10. I will make a chart for the entire month.

6 or 7 sounds heavenly!! (#teacherlife!)

We subscribed to TouringPlans.com for Disneyland, I looked through the predictions for the Month of July, 2015. They are predicting mostly 7 out of 10 which is an estimate of wait times. Their example was a 9 out of 10 corresponded to a 55 minute wait. So a 7 would be about a 40 minute wait. Most of the month scores 7, with a few 8's towards the end of July and some 6's in the early part. This is based on historic data I assume, so it may change because of the Anniversary. I would imagine July 17 might change to 10 out of 10. Scores are for both DL and DCA.

Wait times for which rides? I have often seen Space, Splash, IJ, ST, TSMM, PP, Soarnin, and many others reach 50 to 55 min during a July day by afternoon. We don't wait in those, we have learned what rides to go on early and which rides we will not do without a FP. I used TP for WDW, but sure yet about how well they know DLR. I guess I still need to be convinced. Or else my idea of those numbers is just different. Not sure yet how the new shows will distribute the crowds. Maybe evenings will bring shorter lines for rides this summer.

We went with Touring Plans, because it was recommended to us by a good friend who frequents Las Vegas and always makes a side trip to Disneyland. They say it has never done them wrong. I think basically it is telling us it going to be busy, expect wait times for major attractions that could average 40 minutes. They did show on the site how they did with their predictions to actual wait times for yesterday and for everything they were within + or -10 minutes. And of course based on the rides you want to do, your plan tells you what to get a FP for and when to get it.

Well, you can report back how well it worked! :)

Time to join this thread! I will be at DL from the 15th - 18th, trying to add the night of the 18th though. We are staying at GC. I'll be there with my two younger kids as my older son will be attending a trek at the Boy Scouts of America Philmont Ranch. My husband can't get out of training (we are military). My sister is going to join us for two of the three days. I can't wait!

Hi all. First post here. We'll be there July 8-15. Plane reservations made, BW Park Place Inn booked, car rental paid for, countdown app on phone. Still need to buy tickets and photo pass plus. I'm debating on Goofy's Kitchen for dinner. This is our 2nd trip. I'm doing 5 day park-hoppers. 3 days last year wasn't long enough. Is it too early to get excited!

Welcome! I agree, 3 days is not enough! Especially with all the new summer shows. It will be nice to have the days to space them out. No, not too early to get excited!
I need to start paying attention to when we can book a F! dinner. Still can't decide between BB and RBT.

Never too early to get excited! :yay: We will just miss you - we arrive at BWPPI on July 16th - have to do a quick stop over in Seattle on the 15th for a certain boy band that my DD is crazy about! LOL

I love the countdown app on my phone - 83 days to go - I text my DD with the number every day, makes the day goes by quickly! :-)

I know that it might be crazy but DD and I usually spend 8-10 days at DL - this is how we ended up with Annual Passes. We just like to take our time to wander around and absorb all the magic and we still haven't done everything that we have on our list! :D
