am I reading this wrong.. or does it look like with the deluxe plan you DO get the appetizer and desert

I don't see it mentioned on the deluxe plan about appetizer or dessert but it is spelled out in the premium plan. Anyone know for sure if it's included? I know, I know - it's all rumors (Yeah right!).

You guys are the best!

Don't change anything yet. It will take a while, but the other restaurants should be added later. We saw this happen last year. It took a few weeks, but in the end all of the "regulars" were included in the plan.

I sort of figured, looking at the brochure, that the ones listed are expected to participate. Places that haven't participated in recent years, like Fultons, don't even have an entry on the charts. But if that is the case, I'm still quite disapointed - Teppanyaki, or whatever the new name is, isn't listed, and neither is Marrakesh, Raglan Road, or Wolfgang Puck, and there isn't a single CS option at Downtown Disney on the list, not even the food court at DisneyQuest. That sucks if it stays that way, because we're planning a full day and two evenings at DQ.

Does anyone know, in the past when it has taken time for contracts to be hammered out, has the brochure actually changed or has it just been a matter of filling in the dots on the chart?

I'm sure most, if not all of the places you listed will be there soon.

My son and I used the dining plan at Teppanyaki in 2005. It was also on the plan in 2006 and 2007. It's closed right now. It will reopen under a new name. At that time, I'm sure it will be included. (At least I hope so since it's on my son's must do list for March:rotfl: )

I think there's a sticky with the 2007 information. I'm 99% sure all the places on the 2007 list will end up on the 2008 list.

Every year when they initially release the list of participating restaurants, many are left off and are added in next few months.

I wonder though because in previous years they had not prepared an actual brochure like this until after things were more final. It should be interesting to see what happens, especially DTD which only has Capt Jacks as of now.

I know that thats true. However to print a brochure twice seems expensive ???

It doesn't look like the deluxe plan there is a distinction between table service and counter service. Or am I missing were they distinguish it.

Yeah, almost as soon as I posted that question, I clicked on the other thread with the pdf links and found my answer. :rotfl:

Teppanyaki is one of my son's "must do"s too. He loves teppan style restaurants and he loves sushi, so Japan is his favorite part of Epcot dining. I'm still sad that the rehab ran long. I was really hoping to fit Teppanyaki in on our next trip. We only have 1 day tix and we'll use it for MK, but if rain interferes with one of our Stormalong Bay days, we're going to add a day and head to Epcot to check out th Living Seas, which was closed for rehab when we were there last. And we all know the odds of afternoon thunderstorms in August in Orlando... :lmao:

We don't know that it has been printed, though, do we? I'll bet they create the files digitally - pretty much everyone does now - and this could just be a working copy that they prepared for the inital package announcement this week. It would make sense to have the information available on the web site as soon as pricing is released, so that people can start booking, but the hard copy isn't really necessary until 2008 package check-ins start in Jan. And if the brochure is strictly digital at this point, there is nothing to adding a line here and there - a few minutes' work for someone reasonably familiar with the program used to create the file.

Is Tony's not going to be a TS anymore? Surely this is a typo?

CSR
My friend who works at the resort said an outside company from California operates the food section (Pepper Market)and that they have NOT agreed on a contract for dining. Maybe that will change ???

Maybe its another cut by Disney to save a few dollars because of the CS meals being too many $$$$ JMO

It isn't just Pepper Market that isn't listed, though... For '07, La Tienda, Seista's, Maya, and Pepper Market were on the plan. I can't imagine they'd all be left off for '08!

Indeed. They cannot list a restaurant until contracts are signed for the next year. Some of the restaurants didn't sign contracts until the late Fall, last year.

No, there is no distinction. It looks like the Deluxe dining plan is going to work exactly like the higher level plans in the past via dining.

Basically you get 3 credits/day for meals. You can choose to use those credits in whatever combination you want via CS or TS.

So you could have:

3 CS in 1 day
3 TS in 1 day
ALL TS your entire stay
ALL CS your entire stay

OR *any* combination you want basically 3 meals/day. Now the exception is when you use the "2" credit places which would just mean you are short 1 credit somewhere along the line for 3 meals in one day.

I absolutely love it because it takes the thinking of "how many TS do we have left?" out of the equation. Basically it's "how many credits do we have left?".

We went on the Premium plan last time and that's basically how it worked. We got allotted 3 credits/day to use however for meals (CS or TS) and I'm fairly confident this will work the same way. Mostly because if you look at the Premium & Platinum plans the dining part is *identical* to the deluxe dining plan now.

It's per night not per day.:goodvibes

Identical to Plat and Premium except that plat and premium still don't ever require 2 credits for any meal. On Deluxe, room service, signature and dinner shows will use up 2 credits per person. Plat and Premium will still just use up 1 credit per person.

Interesting -- I'll have to look at the brochure again. I thought I saw the little "2" markers on the Premium & Platinum plans. I know that surprised me but that's what I thought I saw. They looked identical.

Edited: I stand corrected. :) This is what happens when you look late at night at these things.
I remember scanning the Downtown list to see if there was a difference between the higher level plans & dining plans but didn't see that. I thought I saw the 2 thingy on both but it's not there now.

Am I not awake yet or reading wrong?? Does the child basic plan include an appetizer?:confused3

1 quick-service meal
1 quick-service meal includes 1 entrée or 1 complete Combo Meal, 1 dessert (lunch or dinner only) or 1 juice (breakfast only) and 1 single serving non-alcoholic beverage. Children ages 3-9 are limited to the Children's Menu (if one is available) at quick-service restaurants.
